  4. well to quote a few people on this topic that I have learned from... when you are working on something new you should always plan on being a bit high for a while cause it gives you some extra breathing room while you are learning the mechanics of your new maneuver. Cheers Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  5. What it comes down to is this... we try to set up swoop lanes and call it our play area... we separate this from the other landing areas to help with traffic problems does this mean that we can brazenly hit people that are in the area regardless of whether they are supposed to be there or not? of course not it would hurt us...oh yeah and them.... 6. On regular dropzones? Hardly ever. Most places i've seen it's just like the beer line - not far from spectators and not clearly marked. And just like the beer line the old timers move it to their liking. - Hey you know that's the beer line! - Where? - Right there where you just landed! - No it's not, come on. - Yes it is! You just crossed it and thats a case of beer. I like Heineken's! - Well then you better go buy some, you sneaky ol bastard! isnt the beer line like the hanger door at our dropzone mike? 10. learning how to set up in 15 mph crosswinds for carving courses is always a good time...although much better if you arent in the middle of a competition... nothing like a 1/4 mile base leg Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  11. training in zhills whats your turn height these days for that 270? jay was working on getting me to start by using double fronts for the first bit and then ease into turn then bang out the end...similar to what we talked about last summer...make sure to add some altitude to your turn before that...hmmm depending on what I hear about the new job today I might just try to get down to zhills around the same time for some training as well also get back on your rears woman I know its scary after your ride your face across the pond but get back on the damn horse it will be better in the long run Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.

  15. wow are we all getting better at letting people know this or what Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  16. my opinion is this... Crossfire 2 is a great canopy especially transitioning from a sabre 2. I will follow that up by saying that you should learn that Sabre2 170 wring the shit out of it... of course none of us can see you fly canopies on the internet, but I will say that you should probably spend a shitload more time on the sabre2 170, I was a fast learner and I still waited until I had 500 jumps to move to the crossfire2. And finally I learned almost everything I know about swooping on a sabre2 170... Cheers Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  17. cy---what??? Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  18. I am thinking about losing 20 lbs and getting some new gear with the loss..I think I will keep the current setup too Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  19. A crossbrace was getting fucked up, but the conventional canopies were okay? I watched a very experienced camera guys velo fold up on him at about 2000 feet while he was flying a long it was a fucked up turbulent hot day and he promptly switched to his stiletto. Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  20. I voted yes, but have seen situations where I would rather be on a higher loaded conventional canopy than a highly loaded x-brace since I have seen highly loaded crossbraces get all fucked up in really turbulent days Cheers Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  21. did you mean professional or prostitute??? How many other "disavowed" swoopers are there at this point Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  22. Sure, for the Owner/Operator, it is a great plane. For the jumper ...not so much. The positives are all factors that put more $ in the operator's pocket. The negatives are all factors that the jumpers have to live with at probably the same jump price as an Otter. Kevin Keenan The negatives like it will often go up with a minimum of 4 to 6 fun jumpers instead of 10 to 12 like a Twin Otter? How about the negatives like it's faster climb time? How about the fact the DZO will be able to operate more loads without tandems? Or the DZO will have more dollars for facility improvement and upkeep, student gear, instructor pay, ability to offer slots to organizers or team rates? Yeah, having a more efficient airplane sure sucks for fun jumpers. and this is why i adore you JP...simple straight sarcastic and to the fact all while telling you why you will like it truthfully I remember someone bitchign abotu getting a brand spanking new pac on a dropzone I used to jump at... I looked at my friend and said yes it is terrible that we got a brand spanking new airplane that climbs super fast and allows us to go on lighter loads terrible Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  23. and in answer to that I got shitloads of organizing while I was in zhills there was six ways on a few of the days there, john was coaching michelle and dave c were organizing most of the boogie...
