  1. erm head winds were about 8 mph how would you suggest i correct what i'm doing? it seams to be habit more than anything i'm trying to get some better video.. give me 2 mins .....
  2. yeah, that was a while ago mate learned alot since then, i think putting jump numbers as restrictions is a stupid policy, it should be down to qualifications and education level. heres the video anyway, scuse the quality http://www.aspp82.dsl.pipex.com/problempoint.m2v
  3. just bringing this thread back upto date, i now have 180 decents many many hop and pops and am jumping a sabre 150, i've stood my ground and have held myself back and back. i currently use the 90 degree front approach and am happy at the moment feeling that speed, now towards the end of my landing which is consistantly happening i feel like when i apply the toggles to land i jab them too quickly and slow down, i'm not talking about digging out, i'm talking just to fly level with the ground. i feel as if it's washing off speed i could use in my surf and i'm not sure how to get around it... i'll post a link if anyone would care to have a look and try and advise me as to what i'm doing wrong i've done a few bits of crew and really enjoyed the experience, as well as bumping end cells and regular non contact flying with a buddy, i'm really enjoying my canopy flight and looking at ground launching as an extra activity to extend my canopy skills Many many thanks
  4. kinky.. go for it mate, but i wouldn't try and launch the falcon, i'd be more tempted to use a zp canopy .... spiz .. the image doens't work ...
  5. just do your drills at altitude, fly your pattern and fly the canopy relative to the ground.. fly the flare rather than just wopping in some input.
  6. before this ends up into a cat fight like alot of threads do on dz.com lets get back to the subject.. groundlaunching gear isn't available specifically next, i use a training harness that has been tested for strength by a rigger, it's really good for comfort and lightness as well ......... i use my sabre150 to launch with and also for skydiving i need to inspect the canopy each time i come home from a launch it's would be great if i could keep one canopy for one with and another canopy for another ground launching isn't a massive thing int he uk at the moment but me and a pal have been out and "done" a few hills over here, there is again just no way of me popping over the america to do a course in ground launching, i'll learn as i go .. it's the only way i can......
  7. cheers again canuk what i ment by "cutting edge" was cheers, your great... it's one of the things i say... sorry for the confusion.. but brian is the first one that has actually given me a slightly more in depth list of things i should be doing than.. watch where the wind is coming from ... kite out the harness first... have fun thats all i got last time i asked ofr in depth ground launching advice.. canuck .. it's pysically and financially impossible for me to get to the GLC, as i said i feel that once my launching skills are upto speed, the canopy control will be nothing out of my bandwidth.
  8. problem is canuk i hear where your coming from, but some people can't just up sticks and come to the GLC to chill out for a fortnight whenever, and it's very hard to get someone to explain the basics of kiting and launching without getting a lecture. the paragliding people i've spoken too think it's a stupid idea to use a skydiving canopy because you can't "go back up" when you explain the idea is to traverse the hill they think your nuts and tell you to fuck off .... cheers brian, cutting edge as per usual ..
  9. does it even exist? where are the rounds held? where do the competitors jump? who are the top ten cutters in the uk by the UK swoop scene standards? i've heard of a couple of events around the uk, but i can't say i heard them hyped as much as the american events... where is the uk swoop scene in the big picture of things and where can people go to watch and take part and learn in our country?

    Sittin's Hard

story of my whole freefly life am i correct in thinking i have to tense from my hips down into a solid shape... my legs keep sliding from under me and flopping me on my belly, it's really frustrating because i'd like to jump with the rest of the freefliers on the dz but can never really keep up and just look a total unsafe fool i'm relaxing and can stay on my back and kind of stay on heading, but keeping my legs down below me and my speed up and heading is a nightmare, and i seam to just be stuck in a rut ....
  11. i beleive this dude is asking for feedback from someone who has had some "cyber coaching" from canopy piloting.com i can't afford it jim said it'd be $40 for a month at one point, and it's gone right up now :(
  12. what is the name f the battery? is it a 28L how many volts etc? anyone got any ideas? trying to source a bulk order of them from a non skydiving shop anyone know exactly what model battery it takes?
  13. looks like a cheap way to get to altitude i love this bit ... Cluster balloons, like all balloons, are aircraft that require skill and training to operate safely. BWAHAHAHAHA
  14. sick i gather that means good in kool speak
