one of the things i do is to stow the excess inner bridle (the flappy stuff that is left when you cock the pc that is INSIDE the bag?) i fold it a couple of times and stow it with a bungee this stops it uncocking and stops the excess grabbing material on deployment, never had any problems with it... just cock it fully fully, then skribble a new "green for go" in the window!

i did that in spain for a few jumps. also for a few people that were new starters saying if you don't like the video i'll pay my slot .. litterally just jumping for slots..

ron, i'd only quit the job i'm in at the moment if there was a job out there available that i would like.... doesn't sound like skydiving as a living would pay off ...

my main problem is that the job i am in is 7 days a week if they need me.. i have to go in .. so this finish on a friday and the weekend is mine doesn't happen...

i'm hearing a common pattern here never mind... i'll keep up with my job and make a little extra at the weekends doing video and stills (when i get the experience to have someone WANT me to shoot video for them rather than me harass them LOL cheers for the feedback dudes....

so i've been around skydiving for 2 years or so now, done a bunch of jumps, packing and video and i'm looking at working within the sport. i imagine there are a few ways to go, keep jumping at my local dz, get my freefall time up and become a tandem instructor, - not really my cup of tea.... - i could go for my basic instructor rating, and dispatch people on static line once i get my instructor rating, again, not sure if this is what i want to do, - i DID look at becoming an AFFBI however i don't have anywhere near enough qualifications or airtime, which is a bit of a disapointment. - i LOVE flying camera and already make a small living from shooting stills from the ground as well as portrait work, - i can pack... don't enjoy it but i can pack and would be willing to earn money. my problem is that i am in a secure job, and i need to be able to settle bills every month, however the dream of working in skydiving and earning money doing what i love is a big temptation. - i am a customer care/security officer as a job and i have very good people skills (until they push there luck too far) what advice could you give to someone wanting to take this direction? what skills are the dz's looking for these days? what kind of money can a general videographer/packer make at a dz? how would you coordinate working away from your home country while doing this? cheers for your time guys, PM me if you wish

hmmmmmmmmmmm, quite a bit to think of here. if the removable slider was made to the same size as the one on my canopy i'm sure it would open nearly the same at terminal would it not?? i'm not planning on getting the whole removable system, just the slider.... might look at the "slocks" as well...

i currently use the ball and band stowing method. i want a removable one so it gets the hell out of my way after deployment. the stowed slider stops me moving my head around when i'm wearing camera and so i can look around without a slider in my face... and the noise... damn it STILL THE NOISE !!!! ARRGGGGGH

bizarre question i know, but i'm wondering if there are any people out there who make there own closing pin necklaces (by hand) from thread/hemp and beads that could help me out with some different methods of weaving the materials. i'm not looking at making one from rubber or from chain. i want to make one from hemp/string heres an attached picture of what i mean i know you can plat then plat 2 strands of platted together but this one looks very nice and i'm not sure how it was done, does anyone have any patterns they can explain to me for knotting the thread? please pm or email me cheers [email protected]
