  1. Are you just angry 'cos I'm not old like you? Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  2. Same here. My parents never ever shouted or swore at me when I did something wrong as a kid. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  3. ?? It wasn't the TM, it was the other guy in his wingsuit 2-way. Still fucking close though Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  4. Has she ever thought of doing cover art for sci-fi? 5504 instantly made me think of Arthur C. Clarke, and 4209 is also excellent. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  5. lot of talk about zip-ties and stuff. Am I the only one who just used a bungee to secure it? Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  6. What competitions? Speed skydiving averages two ProTracks mounted in clean air on the hip. TrackingDerby uses GPS results, the wingsuit comps at Stupino last year used GPS results. Most Ad Hoc local tracking comps that I've heard about either use GPS or a visual measure of who went furthest to determine the winners. And as Craig has pointed out, it is well known that loggers like the ProTrack can give erroneous 'point data,' unrealistic spikes in speed resulting from moving the unit from a high to low pressure (or vice verca) area by, say turning your head. I've never heard of data loggers being significantly wrong in presenting sustained speeds though. The graph Craig showed clearly demonstrated areas of sustained speeds, with only small fluctuations, that fit in consistently with the rest of the data. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  7. Hell no, I'm a youngun! I got mine last week I was just pointing out to Dazzle that C-licence is 200 jumps, not 500. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  8. Of course you know what it's about, you started the fucking thread! The rest of us, however, are still clueless. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  9. I'm sick and tired of people telling me how I must be sick and tired of everything. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  10. Why? Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  11. Bzzzzt. How did I get one then? Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  12. Which squares pretty well with the BPA minimum opening height for demo jumps - 1500ft (and you can do that with a C-licence) Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  13. Are you reducing your descent rate by much at all? From what you've posted on this thread it doesn't sound like you are. You probably don't have nearly as good a track as you think you do. Are your legs straight and locked, toes pointed, pushing down on the air? Are your arms straight, roughly by your side (not above and behind) pushing down on the air? Is your torso completely de-arched, shoulders hunched/ rolled, chest/ sternum sucked 'up'? Does your tracking position take noticeable physical effort to hold the optimum shape? With your jump numbers that really is only a tiny amount of practice. Without a proper frame of reference, how do you know? Try begging/ borrowing/ bribing a really, really good tracker on your DZ to go and do a two way with you. Fly relaxed side by side until a certain alt where you both punch it out. Once you've watched him disappear into the distance above you then come back and talk about vert speed. What do you want me to do, post a photo of my pro-track? If I post a photo of the 84mph Ave I got with BM Pantz how would you know that it wasn't really a wingsuit dive? Alternatively you could just trust the several people with several thousand jumps who've all told you that you're wrong. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  14. How I read your thread title, Delay: I'm a fucking idiot. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  15. That's cool, wasn't taking anything the wrong way, just giving my inside perspective on the weekend. And I'm sure with your experience of big big-way exits and the like you've got a lot of perspective that I don't! Ouch. The hit in the video was rig to rig - I didn't even get the slightest bruise from it. On the other hand, I'm sitting here in a fair bit of pain because I pulled a muscle in my back with a perfectly standard solo exit from the Caravan this afternoon! It's a crazy world Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  16. The Pants and Jacket from Phoenix-fly are pretty much the gold standard for high performance tracking. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  17. How sure are you that you can get your vertical velocity anywhere near that slow? I seriously doubt anyone can do that without a wingsuit. The physics you're proposing just don't make sense. Your body is not all that great of an airfoil with respect to creating a lot of lift. I know it's easy to fly fast horizontaly in a track, but that doesn't have a whole lot to do with "lift" like you see with an aircraft wing. It mostly has to do with the fact that the relative wind is glancing off your body at an angle. Dude. Learn more, talk less. Seriously. I can get whole dive averages in the low 90's in jeans and a long T, low 80's in BM Pantz and low 40's in an intermediate wingsuit. And y'know what the kicker is? There are lots of people out there who are much, much better at it than me. Now, if you still think that the effect of a good track on your normal fallrate is 'negligable' then you really, really need to get an experienced person to show you what a good track is. 18. The person flashing by is going the same direction, just not very quickly. I don't know if she did a gainer or a straight dive exit. With the 'zoo exits,' bear in mind that the most we took out of the skyvan in one go was (I think) 8, so it wasn't hugely congested. I was in the first or second row exiting all weekend and only on one exit did I even get so much as a nudge, so from my point of view they were going quite well. The burble impact was me falling on Paul, purely a result of poor slot discipline by me towards the bottom end of the dive, and not being fully aware of where he was. I think I fell on him from about a yard above. Shame really because that jump had been very tight until then, lesson learned Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  19. Which just goes to show why Theology is the second* most useless art form to ever grace the planet. *Second only, of course, to Mime. Fucking mime artists Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  20. Find me a textbook on Renaissance history that claims to explain biochemistry. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  21. Deal. And since the sheer volume of gun posts here in Sc is, ah, slightly higher than I realised I may have to just that In the mean time, an interesting discussion... Ok, it may well be a small group that is responsible for most of the murder rate. Why, in America, is that group so much larger than in other developed countries? What is it, in your view, that makes poor disenfranchised Americans more likely to turn to Gang violence/ gun crime than poor people in Europe or Canada? As I said in my first post, I don't think that guns alone are the problem. The question is why do Americans (or certain groups of Americans) seem so much more likely to use them than the same groups in other countries? Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  22. They have a low tail, are cramped when full, and CofG considerations + the wingspar across the floor of the cabin can make them a bit difficult to exit a whole planeload from. Having said that, I like 'em! Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  23. Well, as I said I was going to leave that till I'm bored to tears at work. Give it two hours and I'll start looking. In the mean time, do you think that the USA has a cultural problem with its attitude towards guns? Do you think that the USA's firearms homicide rate is a problem? Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  24. To me, the two would generally seem to go hand in hand. I'll concede the point though. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  25. Not to me. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
