  1. Edit to add: I have confirmed GoCrazy is no longer operating. Ken is going to have dz.com remove the listing from the gear section I think Go Crazy ain't going crazy any more. I think they have closed up shop. Website gone. Quite sometime ago I sent a message to Terry and Ken asking what happened and got nothing back. I own one of their suits well made. Too bad. 2. As the saying goes "Dress for success". A jumpsuit is a tool. I won't make any recommendations on what you should buy as I have no information about your body type or how you fly. You might want to talk to Aidan or one of the other instructors at Eden, if that's still where you jump. PM me if you need help making contact with someone. 4. Does the seal press leave a imprint on the tyvek seals? I am asking only because of the need to comply with the FAR: "Federal Aviation Regulations - Sec. 65.133 — Seal. Each certificated parachute rigger must have a seal with an identifying mark prescribed by the Administrator, and a seal press. After packing a parachute he shall seal the pack with his seal in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendation for that type of parachute. 5. It was posted in the Incidents forums before the mods moved it here. It didn't belong in the Incidents forum "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy
  6. you need to read the stickies at the top of this forum Primarily "The purpose of this forum is to report, discuss and learn from fatal and serious non-fatal incidents." Expect that a moderator will move or delete this as they see fit. "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy

  8. Horse shit. Two button presses I did ON THE GROUND. Quit being stupid. And yet you didn't notice the danger.... calling me stupid LOL... all you had to do is be aware of your surroundings.. yup I am the stupid one Perhaps you should read the thread I posted... lots of people, low numbers, small cameras... what could go wrong? "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy
  9. interesting reading for those that believe cameras are not a distraction http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=3894693#3894693 I think we should add you to this list - too busy making sure camera was on to notice the danger you were in "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy
  10. There fixed it for ya.... My understanding is that the main reason we still don't see the M2 sold in North America is the reluctance of most of the rig manufacturers to even schedule time to look at it. 11. If its not about the money... keep your gear. Then you have this tangible thing connecting you to this amazing thing we do... all you need is a repack and the world is your again Just my personal experience with a 16 year layoff. 12. Keep it. I had a very long layoff, I kept my gear and I am glad I did. "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy
  13. like I said earlier... someone decided this guy was never going to see a judge and jury "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy
  14. I'm surprised you'd take this tack. Have you read the entire thread? In summary, sometimes a suspect leaves no further practical choice than deadly force. I've done a tone of criminal defense, so believe me, I'm quite sensitive to "due process" and "rule of law" issues. Also please read my most recent post above re: the cops' attempts to gas him out, etc. Yup I've read the thread and I've read some of the news reports, and like most new commentary... its all someone's personal opinion, I have formed my own "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy
  15. well first off I am not really sure he's dead... they'll probably find the bodies of two older, un-armed hispanic women in that cabin. But what I find amazing is the hue and cry over the US gov't killing Americans working with terrorists overseas when it appears that Dorner was executed by his gov't too. All the blather about the American overseas not getting due process. Granted I know fuck all compared to many about a lot of things, but it appears to me that someone decided Dorner wasn't going to be seen by a judge and jury either. edit to add: not a response top any one comment on here... just a general comment "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy
  16. Hi all, Our DZ uses Facebook pretty well. It lets us get a message out to people pretty quickly with very little effort. I am one of the few admins and its basically effortless. We use it to spread info relating to events, general good to know stuff like service bulletins and of course all the standard BS that gets posted on Facebook. BUT I am not much of a Twitter user. I have a Twitter account but I have not bothered to tweet anything and I follow very few things, BlueSkies mag and USPA are some of the few. My experience with it is limited and the number of things I've seen tweeted by the few things I follow is also few. Are dropzones using Twitter to communicate with their customer base? Are there benefits using Twitter in addition to Facebook, if so what are they? Should the DZ set up a Twitter account? Thanks "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy
  17. Good memory! I have no idea if that's a possible solution but here's the links to the old SBs about the silver sleeve. Just posting this for those that are interested in history Original silver sleeve SB from Airtec http://www.cypres.cc/images/stories/storypictures/silversleeve1997.jpg later update silver sleeve - no longer supplied on new units http://www.cypres.cc/images/stories/storypictures/silversleeve1999.jpg "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy

  19. I find that much of the information in DZ listings is out of date but I only know that for the DZs that I am familiar with. The others I am left guessing how current the information is. I think it would be helpful if the date that a DZ listing was last updated was displayed. Ideally displayed just under the name of the DZ, close to the top when looking at its information. 20. +1 they seem to indicate that there may a another option sometime in the future, but I am not holding breath... not when there is something on the order of 32,000 units to inspect. "4) My CYPRES is in the affected date range but is still responding, can I send it in for the update now? No, at this time please do not send in a CYPRES that does NOT fail the pre-boarding test unless it is time for the 4-year maintenance. We are looking into other possibilities to deal with the affected units and ask that you to be patient with us while we work out the best solution to minimize turn-around time. As you can imagine, it would be impossible to deal with all units at once as there is only a certain amount of capacity available both at SSK in the US and Airtec in Germany ." http://www.cypres-usa.com/SB-FAQ/ "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy
  21. I just ran into this very same virus alert on a completely different site.... something must be going around the interweb today But I haven't seen it on dz.com yet "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy
  22. Thanks ass. The amount of time it took you to do that it you could of provided some actual help. I'm aware of google and how to use. You asked a simple question that you could have answered by using the search feature on the site and you're calling him an ass? Obviously you don't know how to use Google or you wouldn't have asked this question. I'm very well versed in google searching seeing as my career is technology. I develop the very code you use to browse the internet as well as the back end to systems that support your trolling. Then why can you not see that you got a list of on-line stores with links from the search? Included in that search was this link.http://www.dropzone.com/links/Gear/Dealers/index.html Boy some people are ungrateful "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy
