  1. Yeah, what he said! ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
  2. I agree...The fear of looking stupid in front of one's friends or ticking off the group far outweigh the fear of getting out the door a lil' further on... -at least it does with me!
  3. Awright! Welcome to the addiction. We're just like one big support group, and none of us are looking for the cure... ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
  4. -I missed it too? Please explain? Loves to her and bro anyhow... ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
  5. Oops, sorry, almost forgot... HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JOE!!
  6. What, are you insane, Joe?! You are asking the wrong crowd, man! You can't ask jump junkies if you should 'finance jumps'!! Oh my gosh!!! Are you just mental? OF COURSE you should finance jumps! GET UP THERE ANY WAY YOU CAN!!! ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
  7. Did you promise her a chevy and a double wide? ...just to clarify, they were relatives BY marriage, not before and after...they're in Oklahoma, not Arkansas... ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
  8. LMAO!! ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
  9. McDuck, Dumpster, and DTOXX said it all...welcome to a new way of life, a new family of friends, and being perpetually poor and happy... -Just can't get enough!! ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
  10. Eesh, so you didn't actually flip all the way back through the risers then, good thing! Jumping up north here in Washington state, I just started using some Neumann tackified winter-weight gloves. They were recommended by the experienced guys at my DZ, and I love them. Thin enough material that I can still feel my handles very well, but keep me warm enough so my fingers won't freeeeeze in freefall. Paragear.com is a good place to check on the web, but you can find just TONS of skydiving gear sites. Talk to the people at your DZ too. -And about the addiction, HECK YEAH boy it just gets worse from here on out so don't expect to EVER look up the same way again... ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
  11. Hi Elliot! I might get a chance to jump at Eloy, but it won't be until after the beginning of the year. If I'm going, I'll remember to send you a message to get the scoop on that DZ!
  12. ...or love of life? I think those that would say that it's penis envy are envious of those having the balls to do it!! Gee Darren, you'll be hearing from all of us if we run into mental blocks as we progress through our chosen disciplines!!
  13. ...You lean your head against the glass when in skyscrapers and plan your landing pattern in the parking lot adjacent based on the flag on the skyscraper to the right...
  14. ..I agree, I wear a full-face Havok. Mainly because my RW jumps tend to be with other 'A' licenses, and I'm not foolin' myself into believing that we're the epitome of stability up there. I've delivered a couple of these face kicks on accident; once from the other guy's misjudgement, once from mine . I'll consider jumping my husband's open-face mind-warp on a sunset jump just for added visibility in lower light, but other than that, the full-face is preferable to this 'combat RW' kid, as somebody had said out on the DZ once a week or so ago...wasn't referring to me, but if the shoe fits...kick 'em with it (No no, just kidding!) ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
  15. LMAO!! Hey! I've got relatives that resemble that remark ...um, relatives by marriage...gotta love 'em anyhow!
  16. lizzieb u crack me up...I'll agree...not very original on my part, but I gots the one I want too! ...a nice big bow on him for Christmas would be just perrrfect! ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
  17. YEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWW!!! Doesn't that feel just OUTSTANDING??? ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
  18. Good thinking; get your friends hooked too, that way you'll have people to talk about skydiving with!! Non-skydivers just get soooooo annoyed when you're amped and talking about your last freefall or landing or whatever...all my 'previous' friends were too chicken to go with me. Thankfully I have a bunch of new friends that understand my addiction!
  19. I'm still pretty new; just 39 jumps and my 'A' license, but one thing I've learned is to really work on 'feeling' the wind rather than relying solely on what the charts say or what others experienced hours earlier. -Don't get me wrong, getting the winds from jumpers that have just come off the DZ is VERY important and helpful, but winds can shift mid day, mid hour, and mid-jump...evidenced by my not-so stellar landing on Friday . Fortunately nothing hurt but my pride - & even that wasn't so bad, only 2 people on the DZ and they were talking and I don't think they even saw me take a knee on that one...but it was pretty obvious when my left boot up to my knee was covered in dirt & grass! ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
  20. Eesh, I broke my ankle too in 2000. I learned to skydive afterwards, but I'm doin' great, no probs! Of course, having a titanium ankle does help on those faster landings... ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
  21. Oh my, a skydiving psychologist...who'd a thunk it? -You should charge by the jump!! I'm envious, I wanted to be a psychologist when I grew up...didn't do it...come to think of it, didn't grow up either! ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
  22. Looks like you got the encouragement you were looking for already, but just in case, here are the things I did to get over my fear: I got to know my instructor, the other instructors, and some of the 'regulars' VERY well. It helped me tremendously, because on the ride up, we'd yell stupid jokes at each other, make dumb faces, and practice our dives mentally all the way up. It took up all the time to altitude, and got my mind off of my nervousness. Developing a friendship with the people you will be flying with really helps; you have to like and trust the people you're following out /or are putting you out of the plane! I know for a fact that I can trust the people I exit with, and getting to know them has been invaluable as far as training goes...I learn every time I go to the DZ, and intend to keep that habit up continually. Jumping more than once a day also helped me LOADS; I always needed that first jump to clear any tiny bit of anxiety, and the second jump on to 'work' on my program. So much more productive that way! PS, If it helps, I didn't get over the 'Do I really wanna do this?' issue until jump #7. -It's different for everyone.
  23. How-do, Jeanne! We'll have to jump together. I need to learn how to sit eventually...and I bet I could keep up with ya! -And I just LOVE your helmet!! ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
