  1. i suppose you have no outside videopeople at your dz (since you are such a strong defender of handy cam ONLY) ..now.. i looked at your dz´s website http://www.skydivefranz.co.nz/prices and you are proposing "DVD and PHOTO packages" .The funny thing is the pictures illustrating that are taken from an outside photographer.......Do the passengers know they won´t get this kind of shots...?(not even talking about the picture quality..) Maybe these prices are for an outside videoperson and i apologize if i got it wrong... but if not...it´ s not really fair i reckon..... And about passion...dropzones with ONLY tandems have nothing to do with passion...just money...(not saying it´s the case at yours...) wuk?? http://www.brunobrokken.com
  2. I got the inspiration for this video from a friend coming back from New Zealand and telling me about tandem only/ hand cam only dropzones... I think nothing can replace quality video (not even talking about stills....) from an outside videoperson... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wLcN7nsWwwU wuk?? http://www.brunobrokken.com
  3. 2 pictures of the views under canopy: wuk?? http://www.brunobrokken.com
  4. Gracias Gus,but the idea for this video doesn´t come from the future...I got the idea from some dropzones around the world (starting in N.Zealand and spreading around...)where there´s no room in the aircraft for anything but tandems... btw. if you liked this little movie you can still vote for it on youtube until tomorrow...thx wuk?? http://www.brunobrokken.com
  5. Only 3 videos on youtube so far: -first one is THE FUN JUMPER , my entry for the 2010 Vector Film Contest http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wLcN7nsWwwU -2nd one is a jump from a helicopter in Russia with 200+ skydivers on board... http://www.youtube.com/user/exitbb#p/a/u/1/vZZcn0fu7Q4 3rd one is a jump into the Blue Hole in Belize http://www.youtube.com/user/exitbb#p/a/u/2/lJkTOVyti8o wuk?? http://www.brunobrokken.com
  6. If you like this video please don´t forget to vote for it on youtube, the votes are as important as the number of clicks for the contest...for the moment I have 164 votes in favour and 3 against the video ( must be the votes of 3 tandem-only dz owners..) to vote you have to register on youtube and click on the "I like" icon. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wLcN7nsWwwU, thanks wuk?? http://www.brunobrokken.com
  7. This is my video for the Empuriabrava Vector Film Festival in 2 weeks. Part of the score is by how much clicks and votes you get on youtube so if you like it , please send it around http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wLcN7nsWwwU thx wuk?? http://www.brunobrokken.com
  8. my little trick also worked with video wide angle lenses...whatever the price.. wuk?? http://www.brunobrokken.com
  9. really? send your "humid" lenses to me then...no, wait a minute...you use Nikon... This problem with humidity happened to me a few times at places where it was hot and the the humidity was very high. Especially after jumping through wet clouds i often had the problem with humidity inside the lens and it would stay there for the next jumps even if the weather turned dry..... But my theory is that if the humidity can get into the lens..it can also get out... The problem seemed to go away by pointing the lens (without the camera) into the sun for a little while...but off course Sakia ...in Holland this would never work... wuk?? http://www.brunobrokken.com
  10. piisfish asked me to post the picture of Yves Rossy ( Jetman ) buzzing my canopy with a Mirage III back in the 90´s over Saanen,CH. The second picture is taken 2 days ago, it´s also Yves, this time intercepting the Pilatus Porter with his jetwing over Empuriabrava, Spain. With his new wing he can now climb, barrel roll, loop.etc....maybe soon at your local airshow??? wuk?? http://www.brunobrokken.com
  11. they were (more or less...) in walking distance from the DZ... wuk?? http://www.brunobrokken.com
  12. For the big formation record attempts there were 4 Mi-26´s in formation (see picture attached) , each one carrying about 75 to 80 skydivers, which is a weight of about 7000 kgs . The Mi 26 can lift 20000 kgs Not too sure anymore what the exit altitude was but it was minimum 20000 ft wuk?? http://www.brunobrokken.com
  13. World Team 1996 On the last day of the event, the clouds were too low (10 000ft) to go for a large formation world record attempt. So instead, everyone who wanted could go for a jump out of 1 Mi-26 chopper... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZZcn0fu7Q4 . wuk?? http://www.brunobrokken.com
  14. Hi Saskia, you´re talking about problems with Canon cameras that happened 6 years ago....there´s been a big evolution in camera gear since then. i still use Canon cameras and lenses and i am very happy with it. I think both brands produce great cameras for use in skydiving (both low and high end).. wuk?? http://www.brunobrokken.com
  15. Family business... Zoe Hopkins on her first tandem jump.Closely monitored by mom, dad and brother Alex.. wuk?? http://www.brunobrokken.com
  16. "this is gonna hurt !..." wuk?? http://www.brunobrokken.com
  17. With this one the title could be: "just tell me when you want me to stop running...." wuk?? http://www.brunobrokken.com
  18. I agree with Saskia, goggles should be tight...here you see why... wuk?? http://www.brunobrokken.com
  19. Full stalls are great fun but it is always a good idea to try them above your minimum cut away altitude just in case you have a problem with the recovery.A friend of mine had a really low cut away after his pilot chute caught some of the lines during a stall.( and this was on a docile 7 cell canopy) On the picture attached you can see the pilot chute going all over the place during a stall. wuk?? http://www.brunobrokken.com
  20. Hey Daniel. You said: "Now Yves Rossy being a stunt man and equally talented promoter..." . Really?? Do you know the guy?? Do you know how long he´s been busy with this project? it goes back way before the inflatable wings, probably early 90´s.. Do you know how much time ,money and effort he put into this project before finding a sponsor.(we´re talking years and years..) I´m sorry but Yves is neither a stuntman nor a talented promoter.( he´s got other talents) And fact is : he flew across the English Channel (22miles) at exactly the same altitude in 8 minutes, and on other occasions has been climbing at 1000ft/m at 90 knts with his wing. The fact that Yves didn´t have big support (like the military..)to what he did, probably only gives it more merit...and he has the advantage he doesn´ t have to keep it so secret... attached is a picture of Yves flying his inflatable wing with jet engines back in feb. 2004, and one crossing the English Channel 2 weeks ago. Looking forward to see pictures of the Atair wing (in flight) wuk?? http://www.brunobrokken.com
  21. I was lucky to be (a very small) part of this amazing project. You can find some pictures and information about Yves´flight on the website below (new stuff). It was just mad, the Porter was really struggling to keep up, and the chopper with the wescam had no chance to get close... wuk?? http://www.brunobrokken.com
  22. the canopy is a velocity 111 loaded at 2.2 w/o extra weights. you can calculate the weight yourself.... wuk?? http://www.brunobrokken.com
