I have a functioning AAD so yes I would still jump there. . . HOWEVER, I cannot count on one hand how many times I have forgotten to turn the damn thing on. I NEVER forget to do a thorough gear check. I just don't always remember to turn on my cypres. Its not about safety. . .Its just that I had to jump my personal gear for several months before it had the cypres and so it is not the first thing I think about. . . Doctors aren't always right. . .in fact, doctors learn to treat illness and injury with drugs and surgery. Medications are not always the answer and sometimes cause more problems than they are worth. Medicine is an art. That is why they call it a practice. . . We here in the US are just beginning to tap into the eastern medicine philosophy. It will be many, many years before it becomes readily acceptable practice. That being said, there is a hospital here in my area that I did my clinicals at last semester that offers accupuncture and accupressure as an adjunct to pain treatment and they have done many studies that show a reduction in pain medication usage since starting the program. Now as for the quack cure-alls being offered on TV for 19.95 plus shipping and handling? I used to weigh in at nearly 300 lbs and HATED flying. I would always wait to buy my ticket till last minute and pick a seat where I was pretty sure no one else would be sitting next to me. If the option was available I would fly business class or attempt to upgrade to first class. Luckily my job did not require much in the way of flying. Of course now at 130 lbs I hate flying in planes I cannot jump out of, but at least its comfortable and I can put down the tray table if I feel so inclined. . . For years I figured I would spend the rest of my life obese because I had failed on every diet I tried. But now I know that losing the weight is possible no matter how big you are. There are solutions. Okay, I am off my soapbox for now. Hi, and sorry about you getting your bill so late. That does suck. A few things you can do: 1. Ask for an itemized bill. They are required to provide one to anyone who asks. This is a law. 2. After reviewing itemized bill, dispute any charges that seem erroneous. . .i.e.; given aspirin (did you actually take one?). 3. Talk calmly and politely with the billing office (kindness can get you EVERYWHERE), set up a payment arrangement (many will take as little as $10 US per month for this amount - 10% of total bill) and stick to the arrangements. As far as statute of limitations on billing, you would have trouble pursuing this claim because you probably had to provide a US addy as well as your home addy in the ER. I am sure they would have originally mailed the bill to your US addy, which will provide proof.
