  1. Yes, maybe THEY should.
  2. Where's the quote from? But also, who cares? They should feel the pain of small armies and low reserves no less than Texas should feel the pain of expensive electricity when their grid fails.
  3. They're all supposed to have 60 day's of consumption in reserve. That gets them to May, rationing further. We go mad rush to produce all we can, same with Canada, Norway and the Brits. We send a nice note to OPEC mentioning that timing is everything and this time we will not F'n forget who stood by and who stood with us. We accept that burning fossil fuels is less of an issue than burning cities for the time being.
  4. We are not the worlds policeman and just because we have a lot of idle green uniforms doesn't mean we should be itching to deploy them. Beyond that your analogy is specious. Yes, we want to take action when school shootings occur. No, we don't want to attack NRA Headquarters and kill the bastards. It's a dirty, filthy world full of assholes and grave suffering every day, not just lately. Sending troops and threatening war isn't smart; it's a fools game most times. Let's spend less money and really beat the bastards. For example, and given that there really isn't jack we can do, let's take this opportune moment to remind our European Allies and our Canadian friends why going on the cheap with your military won't do anymore: 'cause we ain't coming.
  5. Finally something for which we are in agreement. I am all in on sending many plane loads of lawyers to Russia. But instead of guns and money send Amazon Gift Cards.
  6. We wait a long time and, yes, many more will die. We take solace in the fact that a limited land grab in the Ukraine will cause fewer deaths than a protracted, if somewhat contained, larger Eastern European conflict. We need to learn that these sorts of things aren't won after the fact by applying threats of military action. So, yes, it is time to boil frogs.
  7. Brent, It is an aggressive move and a waste of money better spent on long term strategic initiatives. We need to diplomatically consolidate all of the energy sources in the western world into a new alliance and work together. A good start, and a hell of a lot cheaper and destructive to the environment than a build up to war, would be an immediate start to the disassembly of the Nord Stream 2 line and facilities. That would convey real seriousness; vastly more seriousness than adding infrastructure designed to fight old wars.
  8. We fucked up. Without energy sales Russia is nothing, same as Saudi Arabia. We literally financed this war with our addiction to Hummers. That we are considering tapping our strategic oil reserve to control pricing at the gas pump in Topeka is evidence that on a certain level Brent is right about our energy policies. Ukraine is lost. It becoming Russian territory will not tip the balance of power in Eastern Europe significantly. Unfortunately now is a fine time to lick our wounds and live to fight another day. No, Brent, we do not need forward bases arrayed in an aggressive posture. We don't want world war and bluffing is for chumps. What we do need are terminals and ports dedicated to energy. What we do need is an energy alliance that includes a long term plan to supply gas and crude to Europe while we work coterminously to wean the western world from fossil fuels. We need to do whatever is realistic over the next decade to shrink the Russian energy market and the Chinese products market. Keith, we don't need to deploy divisions and threats. We need to boil frogs, seems to me.
  9. Please lay out in bullet points your list of Biden failures since January 20, 2021.
  10. How would you play this hand? You're superb at bloviating, denigrating, and Monday morning Quarterbacking but be brave and tell us just what you would do.
  11. Winds are light and variable to southerly the next few days at Kiev, then back to Nor'Westerly, then back to Sou'Easterly next Thursday for a bit. Might be a good day for the Ukrainians to blow the Chernobyl sarcophagus if they're running out of options.
  12. This blast of alternate reality is brought to you by the Kyle Rittenhouse Home Protection Service. From what I see SYG can cause more problems than it solves. With or without it if someone is in your house shoot the bastard, if need be, but bozos wandering around with their guns looking for an excuse to SYG is the problem.
  13. Indeed. And have you noticed we've not taken a lick of shit from a single isthmus or tiny island since.
  14. Don't be silly. What in a VP's portfolio requires unique qualifications? And you give yourself away And you give yourself away And you give And you give And you give yourself away
  15. Get F'n over it, Brent. You know damn well she was the price of admission. That said she's not a fool or an idiot. She's an accomplished professional with genuine credentials. But you, in all of your own glory, just carry on sitting in judgement.
  16. Fair enough. On the evidence, given that the enterprise folded in spite of a large government subsidy, you were a disaster as a DZ Manager. Are you quitting skydiving or here in shame?
  17. You nailed it, totally. No need to change dumb gun laws when faster running will save you. Of course, there will be unfortunates like the Grannies who couldn't run away fast enough from Covid and some others who seem unable to run away from their ethnicity when deemed prudent, but oh, well. If there are going to be winners there must be losers, just the way it is.
  18. Alright, Mods, by his own words he is more than just trolling us all.
  19. Your needle is skipping again.
  20. Canada has gun nuts, anti-vaxxers, hard right yo-yo's, loads and loads of end of the road enclaves, and drunken ice fishing with hookers. Seems to me we need to be marketing their wonderland to some of our own unhappy campers and not our bird and bunny people.
  21. But you are, sort of, or so I sort of thought. I'm not saying you'd willingly whip the horse and drive the collection cart when the ban happens, not at all. I'm just pointing out that you're not part of the hold your breath until you turn purple crowd; you're all about talking it through.
  22. Somewhat expansively definitional, methinks. We have thoughtful, reasonable Second Amendment activists like BIGUN and loose cannons like Mrs. Weber's middle child but we also have the never give an inch types who see sensibility in polka dotted AR-Fifteenie's being marketed to kid's at the school bake sale.
  23. Putin up or Shuttin' up. Before Epoch Times runs with it you heard it first here: Do you think it's worth it to Putin to raid Ukraine to take the heat off of Trump? No doubt Trump would re-bomb Hiroshima if there was a 2% chance it would help. Hmm.. Inquiring Minds.....
  24. Excellent. You managed to squeeze in a dig at Obama.
  25. Winsor, in a few posts you claim a hope to have your .460 Weatherby, though it might be worthless. Do those come in double bore? Is that what you have? I thought they were bolt action rifles. I don't disagree that a double bore is more reliable for two shots but that's it. I say that as someone who hunted ducks for years with a single shot and took my share of doubles. I think a modern tactical semi-auto shot gun is reliable enough to be a better choice, seems to me.
