  1. I thought that he (Bill Dause) had the most jumps, too..... But I've been so out of the loop....who knows? Peace~ Lindsey Eve was framed!
  2. It's like.....well I've gotten to where I don't really try to remember birthdays and anniversaries any more, because I know I'll get a reminder on my home page.....If the reminder doesn't come, then I miss the event..... Know what I mean? "I live with fear and terror, but sometimes I leave him and go skydiving!"
  3. Hee HEE! Your post just made me remember some of the lessons I've learned. Like when I first got my first Sabre.....I had jumped a Raven 3 until then.....when I flared too hard and went WAAAAAY up in the air......I learned not to let up on the flare...... I also learned about that same time to pay a little more attention to the wind under canopy. Sometimes the wind sock appears to be pointing the other direction..... oh well..... thanks for the chuckle..... Peace~ Lindsey "I live with fear and terror, but sometimes I leave him and go skydiving!"
  4. Ya' made me go look.....maaaaan I'll have to get 2 more hours to catch up with you.....maybe with my (uh-hem) discount 2nd rig, I'll be able to do some real jumping again this summer!!!! You're so cool..... Peace~ Lindsey "I live with fear and terror, but sometimes I leave him and go skydiving!"
  5. Woo HOO! Even though I haven't jumped since July....(the medical school detour has been very possessive of my time).....I thought I NEEDED a 2nd rig, since I WILL have 3 MONTHS OFF this summer!!!!! (that's where the WOO HOO comes in). Anyway....I've been searching for discount stuff. And I finally got it put together for $900! Mid-90's Javelin TJ (royal and pink....remember those colors?), Johnathan (hee Hee) 120 (yellow and blue and purple and pink or some kind of combo like that), and a Micro-Raven 135. I'm so PROUD.....had to share! ==8-0 Lindsey "I live with fear and terror, but sometimes I leave him and go skydiving!"
  6. "Say baby, that's nasty....." Do y'all know what that line came from? It starts (to add a clue), "Baby.....why you got your d*(k in the sink...." Hee HEE! Lindsey "I live with fear and terror, but sometimes I leave him and go skydiving!"
  7. So how far into MO is your dz from Arkansas......hmmmm.....that's the FIRST weekend of spring break.....wonder how my young'un would feel about camping out! Peace~ Lindsey "I live with fear and terror, but sometimes I leave him and go skydiving!"

  13. Who are you? I have made many, many jumps out of Jim's planes.....and you're right, it's a very kid-friendly place. I don't think I'll be able to break from the books on that particular weekend, but the two following that will be Spring Break!!!!!!Yippee.....haven't jumped since JULY!!!! AAAUUUUGGGH! Send me a note [email protected]. "I live with fear and terror, but sometimes I leave him and go skydiving!"
  14. Since I get 3 months off in the summer (at least from school), I was thinking of making a couple of road trips with my girlfriends. I bet it would be hot around Texas, but I'd like to hit some of those DZ's.....and it wouldn't be THAT much hotter than it is here in Arkansas. Not trying to get flamed or anything.....but what dz's are kid-friendly? "I live with fear and terror, but sometimes I leave him and go skydiving!"

Dude, I'm totally with ya'. My 4 y/o son and I were bitching about the Canadians this morning for that VERY reason! And the WIND!.....Horrible.....horrible people! ==B-D "I live with fear and terror, but sometimes I leave him and go skydiving!"

  18. After a perfect flat turn, you should not need to do anything beyond releasing the toggles and going back to full flight. At the end of such a 'perfect' turn you should be at normal flying speed. If you need to hit the brakes a little to slow down, add a little more opposite brake in the turn. If your canopy dives a little to recover its speed, use a little less opposite brake. After such a turn you are in a good position to immediately flare or turn since your canopy is at its normal, or trim, speed. If you are very low (below 50 feet or so) then you may need to start the flare while you're turning. In that case the flat turn turns into a flare turn, and you end up landing deep in both brakes. As you might expect this needs a lot of practice to get the timing down. -bill von Why is that "bil von?" It certainly seems after being in brakes you will dive. I don't recall ever not diving somewhat following such a turn.....but perhaps mine haven't been "perfect." ==8-0 Lindsey "I live with fear and terror, but sometimes I leave him and go skydiving!"
  19. Very cool.....aren't you glad you don't have a knot-on-a-log kid..... Lindsey "I live with fear and terror, but sometimes I leave him and go skydiving!"
  20. The first show I ever went to was Waylon and Willie when I was 13.....fond memories of that..... So blue skies to Waylon too.... "I live with fear and terror, but sometimes I leave him and go skydiving!"
  21. I noticed a hearing loss after about a year of jumping. I started wearing ear plugs.....it's MUCH nicer, and my hearing doesn't seem to have changed. Whenever I wear a dytter, I hear it fine...... "I live with fear and terror, but sometimes I leave him and go skydiving!"
  22. I saw that somebody else does taekwondo too! That's also one of my fun things. I like to play guitar, play baseball with my 4 y/o son.....and (hee HEE...) I just started medical school! It's awesome! so much to learn.... "I live with fear and terror, but sometimes I leave him and go skydiving!"
  23. I SWOOP!!!!! fast and fun! Also....I started medical school this week. I know that's beside the point, but I'm really pumped about it, and I just wanted to say it! YIPPEE!!! Peace~ Lindsey "I live with fear and terror, but sometimes I leave him and go skydiving!"
  24. ...and surely y'all are aware (but for the sake of those who aren't) that it's still illegal in Florida for a woman to skydive on Sunday! Hee HEE!!!! Peace~ Lindsey "I live with fear and terror, but sometimes I leave him and go skydiving!"
  25. I don't use an RSL....took it off a few years ago when I started jumping the board. Now I have it off because I HAVE had a fast-spinning malfunction under a moderately loaded (1.8:1) elliptical canopy. (Actually it was off prior to the mal, but in anticipation of it....) ==8-0 Lindsey "I live with fear and terror, but sometimes I leave him and go skydiving!"
