Still not a good reason to join the military.

Well, that's a great reason to join the military. I could either voluntarily go to a free testing facility once or twice a year, or I could sign my life away, live in the desert, and be forced to get tested once a year. Yeah, I'll get right on that.

Well, I think the BEST reason to get tested is so you don't unknowingly pass it on to someone else. And if YOU'RE not cheating, but your SO is, you can't acquire it and pass it to THEM. Obviously that's not the only reason to get tested, but it's the big one for me.

If all of your friends jumped off of a bridge, would you do it, too? And everyone NOT doing it with regularity is exactly why everyone SHOULD do it with regularity. Thousands upon thousands of people have no idea that they're carrying it and are infecting their partners. Edit: grammar

Yes, I'm talking about HIV testing. I didn't think I needed to say it explicitly, given that it was what the thread was about. But Chlamydia and Gonorrhea are sneaky little fuckers, too, so it's good to get tested for those as well . . . even if you feel fine.

I'm actually kinda bummed that this is today. I was gonna go to my usual free testing place today (just a coincidence), and now I bet it'll be swamped. But it's still definitely a good thing, and I'm glad it's taking place. I can always go to my other place tomorrow.

I'll grant you that. But I think it's worth mentioning that I took about a year and a half to make friends at my home DZ, so I'm not exactly what you might call a social butterfly. BUT, you could just take someone with you!

Just because you travel alone doesn't mean you experience everything alone. You make friends along the way and share experiences with them. Traveling is amazing, and the small taste I had in the beginning of the year was just like an appetizer. I'm dying to get back out there and see what else this world has to offer.
