  1. Ya, we made the switch to lappies 2 years ago and had 3 desktops laying around, so we turned them into servers. They're were all older model Pentium IIs with small HDs and even smaller RAM, so they made good back up and print servers. We upgraded the 3rd desktop to serve as a media server that houses our videos, pictures and music. 120 gb... and its almost full! Lappies are the way to go though - I'll never switch back! 3. Ok... In myexperience, it'll vary. I work out with a personal trainer every week, and I can do a solid 50 push ups (full) without stopping as of last week - hopefully more this week, so I felt pretty good physically about going into the tunnel after not having jumped in a year. 3 weeks ago I did 20 minutes in the tunnel. For the next week I couldn't lift my arms above my head. I did a 2 hour camp 16 months or so before that and I was no where near as sore. I'm not sure if its because I haven't jumped in a year, was flying mantis in the tunnel (muscles not typically used in everyday life), or that I've been working out pretty hard - but you can be sure that I'll be working even harder now. I always found my arms, shoulders and upper chest to be the most sore after a session in the tunnel - and for some wierd reason the very small muscles in the sides of my neck too. Good luck, and have fun!

    IT Management

You may be comfortable discussing your work on the internet, but I will not shoot myself in the foot like that. I will only converse via PM. I want to know who to PM. Cause you don't even need to be an IT manager to realize that talking about your work on a website where that message will be accessible for years is stupid - right? Arianna Frances
  7. *sigh* Ok, I need lots of flat flyers to do this with me. Frankly, I'm getting bored going in myself or doing two ways... so a group would be good! There's no way I can save up that kind of money this time of year (Christmas and travelling for it), so I'll split it with other folks! Jen Arianna Frances

  11. oh man Limited time only... it'll take me a long time to save up $2550. Are they still thinking of starting up a tunnel league? I bugged Rob about that last time I was there. Jen Arianna Frances
  12. Heh- that was great! Arianna Frances
  13. Don't they? Arianna's been batteling the same cold for 3 weeks now - we had to put off her 6 month shots last month because she had a double ear infection (we never knew!). He told me to expect her to be sick all the time the first year in daycare Billy-Glad to hear the little one is better. Arianna's been starting to laugh at everything now too - its great! Ben Folds

I love Ben Folds - he definitely got folkier after BFF broke up. Gracie is always a bit sentimental for me I don't live anywhere near Houston though - enjoy the show!
  15. You have your reasoning, I have mine. I refuse to do business with companies that are slimy, and IMO credit card companies are slimy. It is much better to have money in savings to buy things or for emergies than having to rely on someone else. Owing money to others is stupid. Arianna Frances
  16. Oh trust me, I know perfectly well how it works... Personally, I hate owing anyone money so I don't have a credit card anymore. If a credit card is required by any business, I don't do business there (one reason I won't open an account at B of A). I also find that getting something free from a credit card company is a bit sleazy too - the only reason you get something free is because the company is charging some poor schmuck with a balance on their card 22% interest - and I don't support that. Its like being happy at the expense of someone elses misery. Arianna Frances
  17. Although it works for you, the majority of americans do not pay off their credit cards each month... which is how credit card companies have become some of the wealthiest. I find it hard to believe you get anything for free from these companies, someone has to be paying for your 'cash back' - they aren't in business to lose money. Arianna Frances
  18. Danm, girly. You could be my twin... If someone tells me "hey, that dive was great, you did a good job"... in the back of my mind I'm getting all bent over the fact that I sank out on a turn and had to fight to get back up, ya we got the point but I sucked If I was closer to you we could be on a team together, we'd call it something like "The struggling perfectionists" Jen Arianna Frances
  19. Thats the right attitude! Arianna Frances
  20. Um... why the heck would you want to pay off a credit card only to run it up again?? WOuldn't it make more sense to just have that money already saved up so you don't end up owing money to someone else in the long run? Or even worse, paying interest on it? The problem with that logic is that you never truly get out of debt that way!! I'd love to know where people got this fasination that credit cards are good and necessary. They didn't have them 50 years ago and I have a feeling people actually had savings and were prepared for emergencies... unlike the present time. Arianna Frances

    :(

Hearing of an animal leaving behind her best friend makes me cry - I can only offer a shoulder and a kind ear. I wish there was more I could do for you - I know how hard this is. Cherish the memories you have and know she is waiting for you, tail wagging, happy and healthy at the rainbow bridge. Jen Arianna Frances
  22. Yes he could... but health benefits would be a bit too expensive to come by when you work for yourself... and frankly, a corporate job with benefits is worth oh so much more! Arianna Frances
  23. No problems here - I regularly transfer thousands in and out of that account every month. I've lost my password a dozen times and they've changed formats equally as many times and I've had to call them - they're great! Yes it takes time to set up the account because stuff has to be mailed to you to verify identity and other info, but never 2 -3 weeks in my experience. Communication with them has been great, couldn't be happier with them now that they've updated their website usability Jen Arianna Frances
  24. My day is spent sitting at a computer, programming and while I'm waiting for stuff to compile I'm here... or if I'm procrastinating (like now), I'm here... or if... (you get the point) As far as time... dunno really. I'm plenty productive and get my work done, so they don't care. I could be watching porno like my cell (cube) mates. If I'm not at work, I'm not on here. Jen Arianna Frances
