  1. How in Gods name-(pun intended) would you know if "atheists" are giving a helping hand, I don't see many running around trying to convert or looking for praise. A guess-(and that's ALL it is...a guess) is atheists do good deeds for the sake of doing a good deed, not for a longer term reward of everlasting life in bliss.
  2. The whole thing is funny at best, they are just trying to sell something like every other billboard in the world, this time it just happens to be a belief being sold. The sad part, these so called saviors spends millions trying to convert people, when the money could be spent helping those who really need it...in my limited atheist opinion, it is and always has been about money, ego, and control.
  3. Living in Arkansas and being an atheist...all I can say is welcome to the amazing bible belt southern thinking!
  4. Any law that stops the IRS from stealing money is a good law!!!
  5. Posted in PokerRoom.com... Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all. I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2008, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country nor the o nly America in the Western Hemisphere . Also, this wish is made without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishes. To My Republican Friends: Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
  6. July 08' will mark 30 years of skydiving...THAT'S fuckin old!!!
  7. My first boogie was in Big Foot, Wi., 1979. I remember a girl who got in a canopy wrap just above the landing area, she was pregnant, lost the baby, but she recovered from what I re-call. A guy we came with cooked brownies in a cardboard box infused with a half gallon of hash oil he smuggled from Jamaica...people were lost in the corn field after going in the field to take a leak, hanging on the the flag line scared to let go...funny stuff at the time. The DC-3 would hit a large bump on the grass runway, bounce in the air for a while, back to the ground, gain more speed, and then finally get air. Almost 30 years ago, my first boogie, and my memory may still be fuzzy at best from the brownies...lol.
  8. No doubt...some hourly union employee felt underpaid and stole the missing items to make up the difference
  9. Ok. Must have taken the Prime Ministers message from the the other side of the world to heart!! ______________________________________________________ Prime Minister John Howard - Australia Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia, as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks. A day after a group of mainstream Muslim leaders pledged loyalty to Australia and her Queen at a special meeting with Prime Minister John Howard, he and his Ministers made it clear that extremists would face a crackdown. Treasurer Peter Costello, seen as heir apparent to Howard, hinted that some radical clerics could be asked to leave the country if they did not accept that Australia was a secular state, and its laws were made by parliament. 'If those are not your values, if you want a country which has Sharia law or a theocratic state, then Australia is not for you', he said on National Television 'I'd be saying to clerics who are teaching that there are two laws governing people in Australia : one the Australian law and another Islamic law that is false. If you can't agree with parliamentary law, independent courts, democracy, and would prefer Sharia law and have the opportunity to go to another country, which practices it, perhaps, then, that's a better option', Costello said. Asked whether he meant radical clerics would be forced to leave, he said those with dual citizenship could possibly be asked to move to the other country. Education Minister Brendan Nelson later told reporters that Muslims who did not want to accept local values should 'clear off. Basically people who don't want to be Australians, and who don't want, to live by Australian values and understand them, well then, they can basically clear off', he said. Separately, Howard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques. Quote: 'IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali , we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians.' 'However, the dust from the attacks had barely settled when the 'politically correct' crowd began complaining about the possibility that our patriotism was offending others. I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming to Australia ' 'However, there are a few things that those who have recently come to our country, and apparently some born here, need to understand.' 'This idea of Australia being a multi-cultural community has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity. And as Australians, we have our own culture, our own society, our own language and our own lifestyle.' 'This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom' 'We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society . Learn the language!' 'Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.' 'We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us.' 'If the Southern Cross offends you, or you don't like 'A Fair Go', then you should seriously consider a move to another part of this planet. We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change, and we really don't care how you did things where you came from. By all means, keep your culture, but do not force it on others. 'This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom, 'THE RIGHT TO LEAVE'.' 'If you aren't happy here then LEAVE. We didn't force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted.' Maybe if we circulate this amongst ourselves, American citizens will find the backbone to start speaking and voicing the same truths.

    Unions

Orme, Tn.-another great union success story from back in the day! Unions have their place, but this seems to be the end result even in current times, more often than not. At least they are a great voting base for one political party... -------------------------------------------------------------- """During its peak in the 1930s, Orme (rhymes with "storm") boasted a population of thousands, a jail, three schools and a hotel. But those boom times are long gone. After the coal miners went on strike in the 1940s, the company shut down the mine and the town has never been the same. Not a single business is left in Orme. The only reminder of the town's glory days is an aging wooden rail depot that sits three feet above the eerily quiet streets. Although changes are coming — cable TV arrived just a few years ago — cell phones still don't work there. The main road into town is barely wide enough for two cars to pass one another. Dogs wander the streets, farm animals can be heard all around town, and kids gather outside the one-room City Hall to ride their bikes. "It's like walking back in time. It's Never-Never Land here," says Ernie Dawson, a 47-year-old gospel singer who grew up in Orme."""
  11. Hmmmmm...I always thought if someone bombed for the right reasons, they get to spend forever with 70 some virgins
  12. Thank you for making my point in the first response...I expected nothing less
  13. It would be nice to read you staying on point just once instead of beating non related subjects.
  14. Drop me a line, I work for a childrens book publisher out of N.C., and I live in Arkansas...don't know if I can help, but will be glad to share info of printers, process and the like.
  15. No, the agency has no such rule...THAT dog did not fit the guidelines put in place to protect both animal and family...Hate to inform you, but sometimes celebrities and news reporters go for the dramatic, not facts.
  16. You're right, she screwed up. We have rescued three senior greyhounds and two manx cats. None of them can be given to another home should we decide they don't fit, even if WE deem the new home worthy, unless we call the rescue agency first. I understand and like that clause allot.
  17. My first ZP was a Nova, never had a problem with it. Sold it and bought a Tomcat 170, then on to the Jonathon, then to a Johathon with airlocks sewn in-(not good...it blew up), then to the Jedi. I think I've owned 4 Jedi's, all great canopies IMO. Jumping a Samurai today, I love the airlock concept and the way they fly. Brian might confirm this, but I think I am the only one to ever land a Tornado canopy, a converted airlocked Tomcat.
  18. The bible...IMHO...was written by one of of the best sales people to ever live!
  19. So...did you master the art of misdirects from John?
  20. Someday yes...but thousands of years in the future, if the human race survives that long suffering through the issue.
  21. On the upside, or to look at the glass as half full, this is a great time to buy...but be selective.
  22. Just bought shares of Countrywide at a low, already made two bucks a share. Even if Wells Fargo takes over, it's a good buy.
  23. From current info on the bridge, the problem started WAY before Pawlenty took office. Where did the problem REALLY start?
