  1. Trump isn’t the problem here. Trump is an asshole. And corrupt. And probably a criminal. That’s not news to anyone. But there are systems in place that are supposed to deal with that circumstance.... the problem is that the people in THOSE systems are so invested in the power of the presidency that they’re not doing what they’re supposed to. The system is broken. The ‘checks and balances’ philosophy is utter, utter bullshit. The last four years have proven that most politicians will absolutely sell their country down the Swanee for personal power. The Senate should be demanding Trump appears in front of them first thing today to explain himself, but will they? Of course not. Will they even go on record saying that the call sounds like an abuse of power? Of course not... They’ll sit there and say things like ‘potentially very troubling’ or ‘I haven’t heard it’, or even worse try and defend the President because they’re completely morally bankrupt. Assholes. Complete transcript of the phone call here: https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2021/01/03/politics/trump-brad-raffensperger-phone-call-transcript/index.html?__twitter_impression=true
  2. Brent doesn’t care about the country’s deficit. If he’s made more money under Trump (and IIRC he stated he has) then Trump is a good thing from his perspective. And from an unbelievably selfish and short sighted viewpoint he’s right. If you’re ok with ‘don’t care about everyone else but I got mine’ then it makes perfect sense. I’m actually more interested if he or airdvr would vote for Trump in 2024, if everything else was the same. Same Biden / Harris ticket, (ignoring both Biden’s AND Trumps aging), same party policies etc. I was hoping that watching Trump deliberately and systematically try and dismantle democracy would change some viewpoints, but I really don’t think it has and that’s the bit that shocks me. The acceptance of ‘my party must win at whatever cost’ attitude is now the norm. Ron’s right, you know. We ARE at war. This country is so divided not only in political ideals but even moral ones that there’s little chance for reconciliation in the short term. As long as one team nominally abides by the rules while the other can flagrantly cheat then there’s no equality. No fairness. And that fosters resentment on both sides. Democracy and society itself only works if we all agree to abide by a set of rules that govern all of us. Yes - those .001% in power have always flaunted that idea, but now we’re seeing massive percentages of the population that are OK with a deposed president trying to overturn an election result. Because ‘My Team First’. We’re going to be in a dark place for a while yet.

Can the FDA chief just tell them to fuck off?
  4. Who's angry at you? You were asked a fair question - would you be behaving the same way if Obama had tried to void massive numbers of electoral votes in order to secure a win by Hillary? If he was doing EXACTLY the same things Trump is doing now? Say yes, and I'll call you a liar.
  5. My gun-store owning father is a staunch Republican. I've no idea why - he makes an absolute KILLING whenever a democratic president is elected. When Obama was in power they were having to have facebook raffles for the ammo, the demand was so high. The last 4 years have been fine but I'm certain he'll have a busy new year, even though nothing will change.
  6. She's also misspelled 'District' TWICE (in two different ways) in the title on the first page of her Georgia complaint, along with stating that the state's certification of its Dominion equipment is "undated" while providing an obviously cropped version of the document as evidence. Just another inept, unprofessional and amoral lawyer associated with the Trump campaign.
  7. I’m just amused that he’s talking with Giuliani about pardons...If I were him I’d at least talk to a half competent lawyer. There’s something well suss between those two.

It’s weird to me. Growing up in the UK I heard stories from my grandparents about what it was like for civilians in WWII. Rationing. Blackouts. Travel restrictions. Air raids. All that stuff. They SACRIFICED as a country. They had to, and they got through it. Whereas our country isn’t willing to just suck up wearing a mask and maybe not traveling for the holidays for a single year... Its really not a lot to ask in the big scheme of things.

Nah. We'll see a big spike approaching Christmas as all those who travelled for Thanksgiving become symptomatic, and then another early in the new year. Hopefully towards the start of Feb we'll begin to see a decline. A friend of my wife's decided to travel to Minnesota for Thanksgiving, found out she was positive a few days after arriving and is now bitching about being stuck in quarantine there. What about the HUNDREDS of people you put at risk because you just had to 'get out of the state for a change' you daft bint??! Because you couldn't just suck it up for a year and sacrifice just a little.... Zero sympathy. Absolutely none for people like that.
  10. I do not envy them the task ahead of them.
  11. This is what I was wondering. Ron, can you ever honestly agree to an outcome of this election that doesn't select Trump? Not 'put up' with Biden - would you be able to say 'he's our legitimate and true president', and mean it?
  12. I actually agree with the president on this one, but not for the reason he thinks. Twitter does pose a national security threat when the President of the US uses it as a primary communication medium for disinformation. Apparently all this came about after #DiaperDon started trending on the platform after he threw a hissy fit at a reporter while sitting behind a tiny, child size desk. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-election-2020/trump-twitter-diaperdon-election-press-conference-b1762682.html Let's be honest, the only reason Trump wants 230 repealed is so that he can sue the platform as soon as anyone posts anything he doesn't like or agree with. You know, in the way a toddler would throw a tantrum.
  13. I’ve said on here before now that I’m sure she’s got the documents already written and the book deal signed. 3-4 months.
  14. I don’t see that happening just because it would be seen as needing help and losing in his own mind. Both things Trump is incapable of doing.
  15. Whether he SHOULD be prosecuted or not shouldn’t take either of those into account. Same as for anyone. Whether I’m emotionally happy about it or believe it’s the best route forward does.
  16. 4 or 5 months ago I had the same opinion as Robert. Have Trump pardoned to help people heal and forget about him. As I've seen the election progress, the rhetoric ever widening the divides between our party supporters and the damage that has been done to our institutions over the last 4 years it comes down to a simple question for me. Do I think Trumps supporters will do more damage in the short term if Trump is prosecuted and jailed, or do I think Trump will do more damage in the long term if he was reelected? It's the second one, without a shadow of a doubt. 100% certain. So far Republicans have stacked courts, disenfranchised voters and damaged the validity of our electoral process, all in the name of supporting Donald Trump. What they and he would do in a second term is terrifying. So absolutely - prosecute him to the fullest extent he can be. Don't ignore a single instance. Bury him under federal and state charges for the next hundred years, because while his supporters will complain and maybe even turn violent, I don't think they'll destroy the US. Trump actually might.
  17. He should be prosecuted for any crime, that is, an action he's taken which has supposedly broken a law as determined by an impartial judicial force. Whether it's in office as the president, related to his business or to election tampering, or anything else. He should be held accountable to exactly the same fucking standards as every other American. No get-out-of-jail free card. I kind of agree with Bill's position on convicting and then pardoning him. But only kind of.
  18. At what point does this shit become treason?
  19. Or, ‘they changed it after PATRIOTS revealed their deception.’ Yeah. I know.
  20. Do you not fact check anything, EVER? @Ron, now that you know you've been fed a lie, will you go back to your buddies and tell them that no, that's not the real Dominion logo? Do you have the honestly and courage to do that?
  21. If you don't think Dominion counting should have been used, then it was up to YOUR GUY to change it before the election. You don't get to whine about it because you don't like the results afterward, particularly as the same machines were used to serve 70 million voters in the 2016 election that got Trump elected in the first place. And of course China is happy to get rid of Trump. Trump called Covid 'the china virus', and 'Kung-flu' to hide his own abysmal leadership in a global pandemic. But again, you're being inconsistent. When Trump won in 2016 the entire left were saying 'Putin is happy that Trump won' and 'the rest of the civilized world is horrified that Trump won' and using that as an indication of being worried. Universally the response from the right was 'we don't care what the rest of the world think. America First!' - where's that response now, Ron? Why do you suddenly care what China thinks? I'll tell you why. Because you're a sore loser. You have blinded yourself to your own double standards and are looking for ways to delegitimize an election. That's not the act of a patriot. It's the act of a traitor.
  22. Why bother? Ron has been VERY clear that the people who believe what he believes are ‘patriots’ and else is the ‘enemy’. If you’re a patriot who accepts something outside the belief system then now you’re the enemy. It has nothing to do with honesty or the constitution and everything to do with tribalism, belief and fear. This is twice as tragic coming from a veteran who at some point was presumably a GENUINE patriot.

I've actually got Hashimoto's - probably the least awful autoimmune disease, and while it's manageable, it's a pain in the arse and it's fucking expensive to do so. I wouldn't recommend deliberately putting yourself at risk of it.
