  1. your profile seems incomplete as to your qualifications regarding light bulbs or forums. perhaps if you updated it we would be more willing to help. p.j. pulling is cool. keep it in the skin. options: it does a body good.
  2. they cost much much less than the entire rig. so if you're not concerned about misplacing your rig you should have no concern about dropping your handles. p.j. pulling is cool. keep it in the skin. options: it does a body good.
  3. i saw one assembly where the slink was able to slip through the grommet on the d-bag. if it had been jumped like that the pilot chute would have collapsed before the parachute was extracted from the bag. p.j. pulling is cool. keep it in the skin. options: it does a body good.
  4. here is what works for me. next time you pull, say to to yourself "ARCH ARCH ARCH." it is not uncommon for a given person to pull and think to themselves "aah freefall is over" and go slack in the harness. pulling is cool. keep it in the skin. options: it does a body good.
  5. does anyone else have a happy Sara moment they might want to share?
  6. hey Sara, you're memorial dive was yesterday morning. it was the first load of the day, and i was grateful to be part of it. i'm writing this letter because i want you to know my most precious memory of you. it was right before you left for Florida after your first season working as a packer when i was running the mat. you hugged me and said "you're not my boss, you're my friend." then a car alarm went off right next to us, and we both ran in separate directions with our hands in the air screaming, "IT WASN'T ME! IT WASN'T ME!" i didn't see you again until the next summer, but i wanted you to know that even if that had been the last time i saw you i would have been grateful for the opportunity of knowing you. i just wanted you to know that every time i think of that it makes me laugh. goodbye Sara, i love you p.j.
  7. yes you were. if you release the pilot chute close to your body (rather than at full arms extension) the bridle forms a narrow and tall arc above you. if that tall arc gets twisted and the pilot chute passes through that twist, Bingo, you got yourself a knot. on more than one occasion i've seen the pc itself knot up rendering it useless. i have seen this mal on both throw-out and pull-out rigs pulling is cool. keep it in the skin. options: it does a body good.

    Sigma Tandem

I would say that it stands alone as the tandem rig with the most simple emergency procedures, but I would never call any rig (tandem or sport) the safest. Some rigs that were considered safe (and perhaps by some, the safest) were later modified due to a problem that was unanticipated (hard housings in risers comes to mind). I wouldn't be surprised if the same is true of the Sigma. A tandem instructor who endeavours to always improve his abilities and knowledge is much safer than a change in the design of the gear he is using ever can be these days. p.j. pulling is cool. keep it in the skin. options: it does a body good.
  9. what did the freeflier say when he ran out of drugs? "damn, this music sucks!" pulling is cool. keep it in the skin. options: it does a body good.
  10. there was one guy that taught me not to answer too quickly: Customer: "I just had a reserve ride, can you get me packed up in time for sunset load?" Me: " Sure thing, it'll be two hours at most." Customer: " Maybe I'll go look for my freebag while you're packing it." pulling is cool. keep it in the skin. options: it does a body good.
  11. it would be nice if you "got" the idea that hot dogs, ice cream, green skinnned alien sluts or anything nice would be welcomed at the DZ when you hit a milestone or cross some arbitrary line that has airplanes with spinning propellers and fuel trucks and concrete on the other side of it(beleive it or not there is a reason for the beer line). The spirit of the tradition is that you will learn about more skydiving after the sun goes down, or when the wind is blowing. You might even meet someone who could give you a perspective you had not considered. numerous posts have told you we, as a community, are okay with that. I am forced to wonder if you understand that you should do something, hot dogs, ice cream, green skinned alien sluts, anything that would let the skydiving community know you appreciate the fellowship they have offered you. I guess I'm just trying to say don't swim in my toilet. WAIT! I mean don't count your chickens before they are on a Jon Stossel expose.WAIT! I mean, Ahhhhhhh screw it p.j. pulling is cool. keep it in the skin. options: it does a body good.
  12. Don't make it easier for yourself, make it easier for your mom. Tell her you love her, and remind her that the man she helped raise does not shirk his obligations. Thank her for everything, and then tell her you love her again. p.j. p.s. I'm the baby in my family, I can relate. pulling is cool. keep it in the skin. options: it does a body good.
  13. Like Liz said, we will treat you the same wether you live up to a long standing tradition or not because you are a member of the awesome fellowship that is skydiving. Don't buy your beer, I and most of my brethren really don't care. I'm happy to see you have changed your tune from "I don't owe nuthin to nobody", to, "I don't owe you alcohol". There are still plenty of, "social conduits through which information is exchanged, thereby enhancing safety", of which you can take advantage . Using one of these alternative methods would show the rest of the skydiving community that you care about them. Just like we care about you p.j. pulling is cool. keep it in the skin. options: it does a body good.
