  1. what are you talking about? you forgot this one no-one, especially YOU... check post #49: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=post_view_flat;post=837639;page=2;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;mh=25; to be proper smartass you need to be smart, or you're just an ass..... I should call the damn repost police in! CrazyIvan, where are you? This is getting right into that sort of territory... soon to be gone
  2. yes - he IS very funny. idiotic at times... pic attached from this weekend where he ran through a bonfire shirtless 3 or 4 times for no particular reason. i think this would make a better icon for him. all we need do now is convice him that he needs to do 'the dance of the flaming arseholes' and post the pics... educational, to say the least... soon to be gone
  3. I NEVER would complain about that. I'm pretty sure Doug was not implying that. He's just a disturbed and confused boy. I'm sure with an icon like that you have plenty of interesting offers.... as for Doug, I completely agree but would ad that he's totally hilarious too! but then, that could just be the slight bit of british sense of humour I picked up in the UK... soon to be gone
  4. hey dove no more icon? what gives? dz.com stalking/harassment/attention get too much? or is it the calm before the storm? soon to be gone
  5. I dunno, how many women would complain when offered head? (all you gots to do is know how to interpret the pictures) admittedly, it's doug's head on your pic and that fairly disturbing to say the least... soon to be gone
  6. continued right here.... hope I didn't miss any... soon to be gone
  7. thanks bk, for setting a good example...
  8. nominations appreciated this bit for everyone who has (or is going to) post to this thread: -maybe not everyone realises this, but most dzdotcommers change their avatar/icons every now and then, and then they get updated on ALL your old posts too, which leaves senseless references to old avatars/icons in old threads.... so I have asked that when you nominate an avatar: -please take the couple of minutes, find a post by that person with the avatar you want to nominate and right click on the avatar. -now select 'save as' and save it somewhere on your PC as a .gif file (.gif preferred as it supports avatars that have movement in them) -save the avatar under a filename that identifies it, eg. 'JohnDoe_avatar.gif' -now, when you post your nomination, just attach the .gif file and everyone can see what you are nominating! if the avatar you want to nominate is no longer in use, please request that the person it belongs to either posts it or PM's it you so you can nominate it if they're shy - like I did with turtlespeed... of course all this applies to each nomination if you would like to nominate more than one avatar please people, this is not rocket science, if we can remember the difference between our cutaway and our reserve handle we can do this... or am I assking too much? soon to be gone
  9. that's a really nice one too.... who cares what the masses say? I already said this is a best avatar/icon not best ass thread, but still they insist on publishing their one-track minds soon to be gone
  10. thanks that thing rocks, the deluxe flapping action really makes it a contender! soon to be gone
  11. thanks dude and just when this thread was finally getting back on track towards being a 'best avatar of 2003 thread' versus being 'the most shapely ass with sexiest presentation of 2003 thread'. The former being one that I think actually has use for a vote, the latter being very much a foregone conclusion. you can of course nominate more than one avatar/icon from the same person.... all you need to do is get a pic posted on here of the older avatars soon to be gone
  12. ha-ha, this is hilarious! my dynamics lecturer told us this one in my final year at university.... totally unrelated to my engineering studies, but as a fun logic puzzle... he had lots like that so there was much arguing and trying to come to a consensus among the people at that university about the odds me and my friend disagreed too, so we ended up resorting to writing a VB program to simulate the problem and ran upwards of 10000 repetitions each time... (quick and dirty solution, just what we mechanical engineers like) and the answer was, like stated here by several people that by switching you double your odds from 1/3 to 2/3.... knowing that, this seemed to be the best way to convince others about this result: -your odds of picking the right one first time are 1/3, if you don't change this stays your odds. now, the host will always open a door to an empty room, and you will never choose the empty room, so by switching, you effectively pick both of the doors you did not pick originally, making your odds 2/3. and if that failed we showed them the VB code and results.... another cool one he had was about the three guys who get 3 hotel rooms but pay together, the hotelier does not have the right change and sends the bellboy up later with change (it's not really a stats problem, though) soon to be gone
  13. holy crap... someone who actually read the instructions and made a contribution! - thanks! taln1rigr - I know what you're doing - playing tennis at the playbo mansion! everyone else - please do like sid here for now and try to contain your enthusiasm for pictures of certain people's behinds until we get to the voting stage.... I really liked turtlespeed's arm-flapping badger icon and I nominate that too, I hope he'll post it here for us.... come on people, let's see some more nominations... soon to be gone
  14. please attach the avatars/icons you nominated to your post so we all can see them right here in this thread soon to be gone
  15. I do see and I'm glad about that! I have asked someone to post one of their old avatars and as much as I like that avatar of dove's, I'm not sure it's such a foregone conclusion.... I like this one too (edited to add this nomination) soon to be gone
  16. you must be talking about this one, so I'll nominate it to get this thing going... soon to be gone
  17. Who had the best (most liked or most impressive or most cool or most arty or most funny or most whatever etc...) avatar in 2003? here's what we do: -nominate one/many and post it/them, or ask the nominee/s to post it if it's been replaced When we have enough nominees, I think 20 will be plenty or it's been two weeks, I'll just post a poll so we can do the vote.... soon to be gone
  18. I would be *so* very impressed if you got HH to add a [pissing on your shoes] - smiley so you can whip that out whenever you see me post..... soon to be gone
  19. Like, whatever........ Talk to the hand, ok? oooh.... now it's on! or how about this: you called? soon to be gone
  20. see champu's post in here for pics of the real Mr. Bill - a claymation character someone once told me why the jump was named after this character, but I've sort of forgotten, I bet one of the many Mr. Bill threads have the answer... I'm pretty sure it had to do with what generally happened to Mr. Bill during his show... McConkey - as in Shane McConkey (for the correct speling) soon to be gone
  21. I believe the other guy is called Sluggo. here's another Mr. Bill exit pic, this one didn't work, but we got it right later the same day IMHO being Mr. Bill is more fun... soon to be gone
  22. and of course that makes it cool.... unfortunately that's true, we do lose too many friends through our love for this thing (why would you do something this risky if you didn't love it?) as for normal, what's normal? and why can't skydivers be normal people too? I sincerely hope you're not implying some sort of superiority over the 'normal' people who choose not to skydive.... who cares what an extreme sport is? what's in a name? again, who cares? just ignore the whole thing if it gives you that much grief.... I, like some other folk, voted that it isn't. Why do we 'deserve' it? what makes us *so* cool? why be pissed at the skaters? what have they ever done to you? I skated a lot as a kid and let me tell you that your average 12 stair handrail is far more scary than any skydive (or other parachute jump) that I've done. It is also MUCH harder. I can only speak from my own experience on this, but skydiving isn't that hard and there's very little middle ground in it's injuries: you're either fine or broken or dead. You don't pay your dues in flesh and pain to get better, like some other sports require, one of which is skateboarding. I'm not saying that everything in skydiving is easy, a lot of what some skydivers do is mindblowing and they are super talented, but any more so than a skater who busts a McTwist on a 12ft ramp? Give the kids some credit, they have the attitudes that make most skydivers skydivers. If you don't believe me, just offer some the cash and opportunity to take up skydiving and watch them fly! sadly this is mostly due to preventable accidents now, a symptom of the 'extreme is cool' phenomenon.... the fatality rate in skydiving is not a badge of braveness and extreme coolness to be worn proudly, it's a burden of shame we have to bear until we can rid ourselves of it (probably by education, although anyone's guess how is probably as good as mine) extreme ironing - now there's a sport truly worthy of the title extreme..... (edited for stoopid typos) soon to be gone
  23. What about England beating South Africa at Rugby? not really in the same league as Lance winning the Tour de France for an all time record equalling 5th time in a row.... flame away, rugby fans (and other sports too, if you want), but most team sports do not involve pushing the boundaries of your physical and psychological abilities for three weeks.... to complete the Tour de France is major accomplishment that the majority of people are not now and will never be capable of doing... winning the Tour de France is that much more significant.... winning it 5 times in row is something that people never thought possible... I hope he makes it six next year to show us what some people can do soon to be gone
