  1. Quote; "RWS f111 no kill is 32" - ZP Kill line is 27" so I'm assuming they have aproximately the same extraction / drag force." -------------------------------- Have confirmed this... However f111 pc's porosity will start to increase at about 50 jumps.
  2. Quote; "The geometry check is easy, now that someone showed me: pull the top (hacky) and bottom (bridle attachment point) of the PC apart, and see if the internal PC tapes are taught.)" ---------------------- Glad to hear this! After inspecting both my kill-line pc's last night... I arrived at this technique also. (I have used container, and sprung for new k-line pc after reading about kill line shrinkage) Thanks, D
  3. Quote; "How about just re-cocking it when you put the bag in the tray?" ----------------------- I confirmed today (phone-senior rigger) that if the pc becomes un-packed while stuffing canopy in bag, you can indeed re-cock it (after it is in bag). My concern here is canopy skin getting 'rapped' by bridal or kill line, resulting in burn. Tip from rigger; This can be avoided by s-folding portion of bridal/k-line inside of bag & rapping with rubber band. (after cocking) Thanks, D
  4. I don't care how good he is.. I'm happy the sucker (puncher) aint commin to KC!!!!!!!
  5. Quote; "What exactly did I do to deserve it now?" Wendy, you probably don't remember, but... You helped me with a tech question maybe 6mos ago... Random acts of kindness rock & so do you! I would consider myself indeed fortunate, to ever meet your wrinkles in person! (Good pic John) Best Lu7k, D
  6. The plating process is now electroless which eliminates 'flaking & or peeling'. However, it will wear through, over a long period of time & use... once it wears through, (& it wears between the metal & harness, so is not easily seen), the carbon steel will rust, and cause excess wear on the nylon. (This is a good thing to look for when buying used gear) Stainless rocks! The slippage issue is the only drawback, & I believe has been corrected, as the councilman has stated, I would like to hear from people with 1st hand experience - Whose got stainless? & does it slip? Thanks, D
  7. Yes! KC signs Dunn..! 6yrs, 7m sb/ 1.5m now - 1m next yr Sapp's agent contacts Chiefs wed..? I think this guy will go to the highest bidder... "reportedly has a contract offer from Cinn." Who can tell me about Chris Bober? again - Does Parcells hold gm position in Dallas?
  8. I have openned my rig, put a knot about 1and 1/2 in from the bag & will be jumping it this weekend, (for the above reasons) I don't anticipate the open pc having that much affect on canopy / landing, & if this proves out...will be in the market for standard pc... Having looked at the RWS site, I can only find f-111 (standard)pc.. Does anyone mfr. a zp no-kill / pc?... And if so, would this type pc generate substantially more extraction force? edit; RWS f111 no kill is 32" - ZP Kill line is 27" so I'm assuming they have aproximately the same extraction / drag force. Have emailed Louie to confirm...
  9. I think it was my post that caused the confusion... (ie; "as long as it's below the pin"...meaning I would jump it that way) Which I would, (as alternative to sewing it), to see what effect the inflated pc has on primarily, landing the canopy. I would do this because I am concerned about a pc in tow & am considering going to non-collapsible pc. If I find that the inflated pc has undesirable affect, I would then think f1shlip's idea of knotting bridal to be very good tool for assuring properly cocked pc., (especially for someone with a low number of kill-line pc packs, like myself) (and I would untie before closing)
  10. In the interest of saving storage, since I am not using my DZ.com email account, can I close it? Thanks, D
  11. I like this Idea .. Seems like it would be ok as long as knot is below pin... anybody???
  12. "HA! Go Cowboys" B.C. ?? Damn closet Cowboys are everywhere! The Big Tuna is doing a hell of a job down there... Question; does he have gm position as well as head coach?
  13. Doesn't look like T. Vincent will be going to KC...
  14. This alone would be worth the cost of b-band... They've also got BASE, (Monument Valley & Artic), Wing suit, (accross the channel) Kitesurfing, (To Cuba) & that's just part of the 'Gravity' section... Then there is water, snow, ice, & more... This looks very promising! Looks like site's files are 'Quiktime' - hope they add others....
  15. Fox Sports Net Awsome! Red Bull Meet in Switzerland.... These guys are looping canopies - doing carving swoops, one end cell touching the water -(vertical canopy) RE:evolution (of sports)?..............never seen this before....... Red Bull Austrian Air show on now...... Link; http://www.reevolution.tv/main.php Site says you need broadband to watch - Damnit!!!
  16. Yea it sucks... I like Vermille, but you gotta wonder what impact his lack of response to the helmet beating by Freeman had..? His old buddy Petersen (and he) are not gonna put up with a Rudd, or a Law, and yet they let a guy like Donnie Edwards go to San Diego ???
  17. Rudd was born to play in Oakland.. nice addition.. should be a good fit.
  18. "Can you say "Show Me The Money"? Tate, gone to Chicago for 34m over next 6 yrs, 14m this yr. guaranteed, 11m against the cap. Need a right tackle now.. any Ideas? KC could sure use Law... can't see it happening though.. Dunn is talkin to the raiders... don't want to loose him too!!!Damnit!!!
  19. Link; http://www.dpreview.com/ This site has evaluated storage & producers... Reviews / Digital films / should get you started I have found it to be excellent. Lu7k, D

  22. I would advise consulting your rigger... I believe they have a tool to cut these cables, (if so advised), which will leave the ends smooth. Lu7k, D
  23. In the 80s.. I spent it..(emergency) cost me $1000 D
  24. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=post_view_flat;post=791065;page=1;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;mh=25; I tried to give the evolution in this thread..(don't miss correction on secound page) Also the Aero's rep talks about the zps D
  25. What version Tri ? If it's the new 5.0 (new ZP) I would advise you take closer look... I love mine.. Opennings are sweeet! Control response is immediate, & smooth.(no hesitation or whip) Flare is also immediate & very effective while at the same time, the canopy is difficult to stall. Rear risers & deep control inputs do require considerable effort, for an old fat man or small girl. (haven't tried fronts yet) I load my 190 at about 1.2... Lu7k D
