  1. Weather & Traffic... Live traffic might be difficult.... Perhaps patterns & times ? (KC9.com does have a live traffic - Emergencies & closures I believe)(scroll down home page, click traffic pic lower left) Lu7k, D
  2. Thanks, The 10d would be my choice, given the cash flow... 14mm sounds wide, but looks impressive... Damn, That does look like funnnn! D
  3. Deuce, What is your helmet mount still? D
  4. Kallend, I should have known you were not far off... The 'Tech. aspects of LT. Gallagher's Mishap' answers my question (Above)... Even in '91 the A6 was having aging problems. Thanks for link & tuna; Thanks for twisting his arm
  5. Kallend... What the hell are you drinking? (# 29 is sparky w/ no link) (&%$##@##$ got me counting %^&&^$#@ posts) You're not jumping today! You are GROUNDED!!! edit; sp edit; OK I found it... #19 - Was in '91...has been posted... You can now use your cmptr.. & feel free to jump... (Under supervision)
  6. Quote; "OK, you may have missed this previously. LMAO...VERY good
  7. Ya, Kalland, what he said... PUT YOUR HANDS UP AND STEP AWAY FROM THE COMPUTER! Bwaaahaha! (You got the wrong post anyways) A6 = F18 - NOT!
  8. INCREDABLE! I'm not sure I understand what caused the seat to fire...? 'The canopy release switch on or up'...If he bumped it in negative Gs would this cause the seat to fire? Quote; "Second, the timing release mechanism had fired and released the BN from the seat. The only things keeping him in the plane were the parachute risers holding him against the back of the seat." My understaning... this is to separate (stagger) the pilot & bn's ejections...Is it connected to the canopy release? Or is this a case of the A6 aging? edit to include quote
  9. The NFL has told the Chiefs to prepare for the likelihood of a Dec. 25th reg-season night game... '04 Schedule to be announced this month... Broncos deal disgruntled cb Dealtha O'Neal & 4th round pick (117th overall) to Bengals for 1st round pick (17th oa). This moves Denver from 24 to 17 & I'm hearing QB & RB are probabilities... Also...will S Scharpe retire? Tuna, looks like you may have been right about KC going for a WR with 1st pick...(talk on local radio) I can only hope that the Chiefs will make moves to trade up or get something done in free agency to address their defensive needs...I would like to see new talent on the D line, LB, & CB...one each would be a good start.
  10. Quote; "I had one of those leak-over dreams caused by outside stimuli. I went from driving a 70 'chelle supersport to being attacked by pteradactyls!!!" Bwaahahahah!!! Thats clasic... Love birds...but parrots are asshats... DrunkMonkey & Kennedy got it right... If you can't use a loud one... use a quiet one. D
  11. Looked in FAQ...Did a search on 'search tips',... Got 2 results...(From no less than the grand pooba himself)... Quote; "Made some more changes to the site Search engine. 13. Tiffany, Since I just returned to sport after 12yrs, collapsible pcs are new to me, & I'm concerned about "one more thing to remember" also. There are soo many varibles involved that, in order to get your rig tuned the way you want it...without wasting money on bad moves, researching the topic is best. DZ.com is an awesome tool for this... You can find my (Or anyone's) opinions, (& Questions, etc), by clicking their user name, and then show user's posts. You can also run a search..., (Search Posts), which can be a little tricky...(Depending on how I entered the search fields...I got from 0 to 4500 results on this topic). This just takes practice. 14. Conclusion; (From my three most trusted Mfrs) PD; Noncommitted RWS; Supplys f-111 stanard Aerodyne; Recomends & supplys f-111 standard My next pc will be f-111... However, hearing good arguments for zp... I'm gonna use up my zp first. D
  15. The info you're kooking for; go to ParaGear's site... on the left, to; parachutes, PD, reserves... scroll down to; General info, click 'canopy size chart PDF' you will find reserves on the right... PD's are all in normal type, which means the numbers are from the PIA Tech. Specs., etc. (Bold type means Mfrs. Specs.) I'm seeing about 8-9% diference (126r - 137sq ft) The PIA TS 104.13 was accepted in 1995 (Listed as volume - also has area) I know of no updates. Link to page; http://www.pia.com/piapubs/archive_documents/tech_stds/ts-index.html Lu7k, D Edit to add; Notice the address of the PIA is 3833 / (PG is 3839)
  16. 300 jumps with dacron (550) 15 with spectra(850) I don't like the way the spectra stows (seems like a limp invitation to a half hitch)... Don't like the small rubber bands... Seriously considering dacron for next canopy... D
  17. Stats/History/preface: 55yrs/200 lbs... 300 jumps; all f-111, mostly Cruiselite... 12 years out of sport..& return last October... After recurrency training, a couple of jumps under 288' Mantas, (& resolving corrective vision issues)... I transitioned to my new 5.0 Triathlon 190... [This number (5.0) does have significance for you..primarily because it has the 4.0 line mod. Whatever vintage Tri you jump..will flare a bit faster (& better) with what is sometimes called the 'mod 4 lineset'. (Same animal) I advise determining 1st] -------------------------------------------------------- Billvon's list is excellent...some of what's in it you will find below...perhaps he will comment or you could PM. I AM NOT AN INSTRUCTOR, and there is no substitute for close communication with yours. ----------------------------------------------------------- That said, the following are my; experiences (85%) what I should have done (15%) Jump solo @ 9k... Toss @ 6k... Open about 5k... Check (traffic) & canopy..unstow toggles..turn into wind..check penetration..flare...let it fly... Full flare..hold..hold..hold...(Stall check) 360 left..flare..360 right..flare..yesss!... 180 turn downwind, 180 braked turn, let fly, flare... Again in opposite direction... Check penetration & altitude............................. get set up in pattern... Because of faster speed becoming apparent now..make final turn from 1/2 brakes..let it fly... ------------------------------------------------------- If you use a full flare..you will find the zp Tri, if it has mod 4 lines, flares comparably FAST.. this in combination with faster landing speeds will tend to produce a HIGH FLARE, so be ready with your best PLF, and ABOVE ALL - DO NOT LET UP ON YOUR TOGGLES. -------------------------------------------------------- If you are considering a staged flare, consult your instructor. (I have found differing opinions here... and there are cautions also) Best Lu7k, D
  18. Quote; " there doesn't seem to be much good info available in the UK about good still cameras. " The best digital site, (Still), I've found originates in the UK...Link; http://www.dpreview.com/ Best prices I've found to be a different matter... This site used to be called Dealtime - Link; http://www.shopping.com/xCPT-find I would use caution buying on line..and advise looking for a highly rated dealer. (Not always the cheapest) This should give you a good idea of true value if you wish to compare locally etc. Lu7k, D
  19. Came accross this site while looking for info on the old Pegasus (sp?) canopy... It kind of stuck in my mind because of the name... Then recently, the KC Star did an article on it... As they report it, the results they are getting are above 60% (Virus totally eliminated - I believe) Link; http://www.pegasys.com/default.asp Lu7k, D
  20. Correction; -------------------------------------------------------- Quote; "Aerodyne... (site) Recomends ZP killine...(F-111 option)... no apparent change here." ----------------------------------------------------------- Should read; "Aerodyne supplies a 28" pc made of (0-3 cfm) f-111 fabric for main canopies up to 190 sq ft. For bigger canopies 'they' recomend a 32" pc made of f-111 as well." (As above)
  21. 1/2" white surgical tape... Wrap it for use..[unrap for rest...(after shower or bath)] use hydrogen peroxide to clean - B4 & after... Take 2 women & call me in the morning... (w/#s) Dr. D
  22. KC gets to start season with a prime time game at Denver; Sun. Sept. 12, 7:30 ct. I really wish this one was at Arrowhead... I think Denver will be a contender this year... Will miss watching McCaffree... (Retired 3-3-04)
  23. Very interesting analysis..thanks. (Any links to boards would be a great help.) Link to '04 preseason scheduale; http://www.nfl.com/schedules/preseason/2004#preweek0
  24. (Quote;) " For years and years they told me, Be careful of your breasts. Don't ever squeeze or bruise them. And give them monthly tests. So I heeded all their warnings, And protected them by law. Guarded them very carefully, And I always wore my bra. After 30 years of astute care, My gyno, Dr. Pruitt, Said I should get a Mammogram "O.K," I said, "let's do it." "Stand up here real close" she said, (She got my boob in line), "And tell me when it hurts," she said, "Ah yes! Right there, that's fine." She stepped upon a pedal, I could not believe my eyes! A plastic plate came slamming down, My hooter's in a vise! My skin was stretched and mangled, From underneath my chin. My poor boob was being squashed, To Swedish Pancake thin. Excruciating pain I felt, Within it's vise-like grip. A prisoner in this vicious thing, My poor defenseless tit! "Take a deep breath" she said to me, Who does she think she's kidding?!? My chest is mashed in her machine, And woozy I am getting. "There, that's good," I heard her say, (The room was slowly swaying.) "Now, let's have a go at the other one." Have mercy, I was praying. It squeezed me from both up and down, It squeezed me from both sides. I'll bet SHE'S never had this done, To HER tender little hide. Next time that they make me do this, I will request a blindfold. I have no wish to see again, My knockers getting steam rolled. If I had no problem when I came in, I surely have one now. If there had been a cyst in there, It would have gone "ker-pow!" This machine was created by a man, Of this, I have no doubt. I'd like to stick his balls in there, And see how THEY come out! Mail this to 13 other females. :o) Now, don't break the chain! One female broke the chain, her plumbing became so bad, she now has an outhouse! OK gals, now that you have had your laugh, remember... Breast Cancer Awareness... Go have those boobs checked out and stay healthy! Pass the message on to your mothers, sisters, daughters, aunts, cousins, friends -- and even your enemies -- because the WORST enemy is Breast Cancer!"
  25. Just repacked my rig... used window before bagging..(s-folded & banded tape inside bag)..used your method after bagging.. all seemed well..tapes inside pc are fully loading.. but there is little or no slack in kill line..and this pc has less than a dozen jumps on it. Also noticed indications of stress in one quadrant of mesh near hole..? (Mesh is correctly sewn-bias?) (pc is 'Gator' 26" or 27" ZP/monkey fist I believe) Opennings have been exellent so far.
