  1. OK DID ANYONE ELSE FIND THE BIG MISTAKE????? DID THE ARMY TRADE THE GK'S TO THE AIRFORCE???? ha! PROBABLY FOR THE THUNDERBIRDS AND A CASE OF BEER!
  2. How about sponsoring a broke skydiver who really needs a jump rightnow to get a fix man! HA! I think it would be really cool for DZ or an equipment company to start "sponsoring" a new jumper from his first day of AFF through his "A" license check outs are complete or somthing. I have noticed the costs compared to when I started in 1996 are huge. AFF, Coach jumps, equipment, regular jumps, boogies, BEER money for everytime you do your first. You are going to get a lot of PR out of it probably as much as if you sponsor an intermediate team that finishes in the middle of the standings. We always talk about wanting to promote the sport and get more people involved, i think we all know sombody who would get involved for this. Think of it this way too, get em in and get em hooked as bad as the rest of us, they will be a paying customer for their altitude fix. I am rambling, but it is a thought to get more people in the sport. Blues! D
  3. I have poseted this many times, but for information on Wind Tunnels go to WWW.BODYFLIGHT.NET This is John Suiters site, probably the most knowledgable person on windtunnels. If you are writing an article then here is your expert and the site has virtually every Tunnel in operation listed and how each works and rating. John and Dawn his wife have probably forgot more about this subject than everyone on here combined knows. Hope this helps! Blue Skies! D
  4. This is a real dumb question a whuffo friend asked me last night, but the more i thought about it, the more i didn't know the answer. So I figured i would ask the peanut gallery her ar DZ.com. So here it is, Since the Gk's are stationed at Ft bragg and considered a somewhat a part of the AIRBORNE will any of them be called to serve "normal" active duty in Iraq or Afganistan? Or what are the chances of that happening? I know it is a dumb question, but i didn't know the answer. Skymonkeyone or anybody who can answer this please do so. I have now have used my dumb question for 2004 so i will go back to being quiet after this.
  5. Dave, somthing must have changed drastically from when it was here in Indiana. I am 6' 205 and had no problem getting off the net. I am sorry to hear that it has changed. HHHMMMMM??? I have had no problem at the top net holding for a few sec then coming back down. Sounds to me like somthing is not right as it was up here. If you look at the pics on bodyflight.net under tunnels for sale/ jus-fly you can see pics of Roger and Kip Loughmiller doing a two-way in it while it was here. Sorry I gave it such rave reviews i was going on what it did while it was here under Roger's control. I apologize, like i said somthing must have changed. It was a great toy here. If anyone is looking at wanting to put in a small or portable tunnel without paying the Skyventure price-tag, I would encourage you to get ahold of Roger Hadley of Jus-Fly. You can contact him throught the bodyflight.net website. Once again, I was going on what it did here sorry! Blue Skies! D
  6. John is the one in the tye-dye suit going off in the tunnel! John worked with roger on this design, he was up every couple of weeks to Greensburg to "instruct". I learned alot from him and roger both. I think he had hand in moving this deal to TX. The website I gave you is his website bodyflight.net .... Like I said this is not Flyaway but it is great for 2 way or single work. I strongly encourage you to try it out. If you know any AFF students GET THEM INTO THIS!!!!! I saw a level 2 student who stated putting tunnel time in and it was unreal what she was doing after working with John. Somebody else fly it and give some feedback! Blue Skies! D
  7. This tunnel was formally at skydive Greensburg in Indiana. I flew it a great deal. The wind speed is true with no dead spots in the tube. IT was built by Roger Hadley of columbus Indiana and installed at Greensburg for use and adjustments since this was his first of hopefully many for Roger. I miss it being there to play. IF you want more info and pics and video of freefliers in the tunnell (The gentlemen in the video are Roger the builder and John Suiter one of the best tunnel fliers around) go to WWW.BODYFLIGHT.NET and its listed under ARDEN TX as the location. I strongly suggest flying this tunnel for two ways, students, freefliers or single funs. If you are looking for Skyventure you will be disappointed, but if you are looking for a great tunnel to fly at a less price than the big tunnels, check this out. I had many hours of fun without traveling to Fl, CA, TN or anyother of the big tunnels Blue Skies! D
  8. I would guess this will probably be on the boogie circuit most of the time, especially in the summer. I would also venture to say Don Kirlin is already drooling with the thought of a jet that would be available for him to get back to the WFFC again. It would be the only way to keep enough money flowing to keep it in the air. If not I hope the jumpers at Perris have deep pockets and don't go broke. I hope the people at the Ricmond Boogie read this, and get the idea to bring it in for the boogie there. Blues! D
  9. OK, so we have two teams from the green bret's now that can't read a wind indicator?!!! Do these guys sleep through the basic course? Sounds to me like they need to be trained a little better (bring back Skymonkeyone)or make them understand that they may be bullet proof and invencible to the wind, but a canopy is not. I am not bagging on the Green Bret's so don't hunt me down HA! I just think it sounds like these guys should use more common sense when demo jumping. When these guys have a demo go wrong like Rockingham or in KC it really makes the whole skydiving community look bad. The last two demos posted that there were problems with were these guys, some of the best trained jumpers? Once again I am not bagging on the Bret's so please don't take it that way, my point is Demo Jumping is a great way to introduce whuffos to the sport and if it's a bad experience it looks bad on the whole sport. If its Borderline don't jump, there will be other demos to wow the whuffos!
  10. WASN'T this the same group (green Beret from ft bragg) the was trying to jump into the Nascar race in really high winds and hit everywhere and everything except where they should have. If so somebody needs to buy them a wind indicator and take them through the basics again on how jumping in high winds is bad! HA! Blues! D
  11. OK TIME TO STIR IT UP! What is the top DZ (in your opinion) in the United States? What Dz does the most jumps per year? Who has the coolest and or best aircraft Fleet? Just some things that make ya go HMMMMMMM? BLUES! D
  12. If you want information on windtunnels and tunnel flying there is a GREAT site www.bodyflight.net it is John Suiter's website that list all tunnels known practically. There are some outdoor tunnels listed near you, but it's probably a little cold for outdoor flying in Canada EH? Check it out it gives reviews of most tunnels and pricing. John is probably one of the most knowledgeable tunnel people going and teaches at the Tennesee tunnel. If you go to the site you can email him and he does answer too for questions. Great Guy that I had the chance to learn from at Greensburg(I am going to miss the tunnel there this year since it was sold and moved). Check it out! Blues! D
  13. Has anyone heard anymore on this?????? Did Jay make it? Heard he had plane problems and weather that may affect it. I look at the website but it hasn't bee updated since 4:30 a.m. I hope Jay gets it he is a great man.
  14. OK, I was surfing around and came across this site. Indianapolisskydiving.com WHERE IS THIS DZ!? It talks about the best facilities in indiana and how great the rigging loft is etc. I have jumped at what i thought were almost all the DZ's in Indiana and I find this one. Any help from anyone? It has me curious. Blue Skies! D
  15. OK i KNOW- CHEESY SKYDIVING MOVIE, but i have a quick question to see if anyone knows. there are two twin otters two Casa's and the Deland Skyvan. Who's jump planes are the otters and the Casa's? Obviously the skyvan is at Deland. Is the red and white otter the one that used to be at Skydive America Palm Beach(with a different paint job)? where or who is jumping the two casa's ( one white one and one grey one) and the blue/grey otter? I know this is a question resulting from sheer boredom and wanting to be at the DZ right now, but Let me know the scoop on these planes. Blue Skies!!! D
  16. GREAT SONG! This is done by BOBandTom. Two dj's out of Indianapolis that is sydicated nationally. They have some other stuff like this that will make you totally cry laughing so hard. Checkout their website www.bobandtom.com Blues! D
  17. The closest tunnel to you is at skydive Greensburg in Indiana. about 5 1/2 hours drive from Chicago to the DZ. Checkout their website in the dropzone section of this site under Indiana. It's an outdoor tunnel but flys GREAT! I fly it about 2 or three days a week. The closest indoor tunnel is Flyaway in Pigeon Forge Tenn. If you go there ask for John Suiter as an instructor. Probably one of the best tunnel freefliers around. Tell him the guys from Greensburg said to. Come on down to Skydive Greensburg and do some Tunnel time it truely does help. If you want more info go to www.bodyflight.net it is a site dedicated to tunnel flying. Blueskies! D
  18. The money is worth it to pay a little more for his work. I have seen one teams helmets that train here that was painted by somebody else that is coming off. I have never seen any of his work do that. Go for it, just contact him and describe what your idea is and see what he says. Tell him his work is the talk of dropzone.com the old saying you get what you pay for.
  19. CHECK OUT WWW.RODMANSVISUALS.COM this is Rod Leisure's website. He has painted helments for the Airspeed and many other teams. Being here in Indiana, i have seen a lot ofhis work at several DZ's i have frequented and all you can say is the guy is amazing with the airbrush. I personally have not had him do work yet, but as soon as it starts to cool down and I hang up the rig for the winter, my helment is going to him. check it out there is alot of pics of his work on his site. BLUE SKIES! D
  20. I was there Saturday till about 5:00 the first load went up about noon or so. Mullins King Air went up first load and got 10.5 K so everybody got going from there and all the planes and the helicoptor was hot loading constantly while i was there. They did get off one nice formation dive it was a 50-60 way out of both super-otters in formation. Sunday and today unless it was a raftjump minus the altitude forget about it. We have had rain nonstop since Saturday night no loads and a bunchof soggy tents and jumpers. BUMMER. If anyone else can add anything please do so. Richmond had a great line-up sorry it got washed out. blue Skies!
  21. HEY! I was just on uspa.org and there is finally an official comment from the TSA on how to carry your rig on. I looked positive FINALLY! Maybe now skydivers will not get hassled when traveling with their their gear. I printed out the info and it's now in my gearbag for travels. blue skies! D
  22. GO TO WWW.BODYFLIGHT.NET THIS LIST EVERY WINDTUNNEL IN OPERATION AROUND THE WORLD WITH A BRIEF DESCRIPTION. THIS IS JOHN SUITER'S SITE, ONE OF THE BEST TUNNEL FRIERS GOING ANYWHERE. YOUR SEARCH LEFT OUT A BUNCH OFTUNNELS OUT THERE. I FLY IN THE TUNNEL AT SKYDIVE GREENSBURG IN INDIANA. YOU MAY WANT TO CHECK THIS ONE OUT TOO, ITS LISTED ON BODYFLIGHT.NET AS JUSTFLY. TUNNEL TIME IS A VALUABLE TOOL .
  23. PHEEZONE, YES THEY CHANGE A COMPONET ON THE ENGINE 2 OR 3 WEEKS AGO AND NOW RW SUITS WORK GREAT IN IT AS WELL AS MULTI FLIERS. IT ADDED ALOT OF POWER. i AM NOT THE EXPERT WHO CAN TELL YOU EXACTLY WHAT RODGER DID BUT AS A FLIER I KNOW IT MADE A BIG DIFFERENCE IN TOTAL AIRFLOW WHICH WAS ALREADY GOOD NOW IT IS BETTER
  24. QUADE, I agree with everything you said especially the coaching. That brings a good point, John Suiter of bodyflight.net and of flyaway indoor tunnel in Tenn and who also won the windtunnel competition at theWFFC last year is up at least one weekend a month to help coach and teach at Greensburg. There are not a lot out there much better than John. This is valueable to learn then have time to practice. I am not saying don't go to the other tunnels or putting them down. Anything that betters the sport I cheer, my point was as i said earlier to let others know especially in the midwest that it's here and running since it's not in a major market such as LA or Orlando to get the press coverage. blue skies my friend!
  25. QUADE, THAT'S COOL! I just wanted to let the jumpers in the midwest know they don't have to drive forever for the tunnel experience. I can attest the tunnel time does help your airtime!
