  1. it's hard to retailiate when you are the one who is wrong, isn't it ? My HC happens to be a Mirage, not a Jav, so for the 3rd time I repeat that I was not putting a PDR143 into a TJN. insulting me based on the jump numbers I list in my profile is just a way to say "I am being a child as I have been proved wrong, and I got no other way vent". Be a man (or a woman) and just SHUT UP when you cannot provide an answer asked for.
  2. I assume at least SunPah did. I don't know why can't you accect that TJN and PDR143 is not a fit. I would like to point out the reply above as an "in your face". PEOPLE, STOP ASSUMING THINGS ! I did not say I want to put one in. I did not say I think it will work. I asked for an opinoin. you, my friend, are not a rigger as far as your profile suggests, so please leave your OPINIONS at the opinion thread, I thought I clearly requested facts, and nobody but snafuhere has given them to me. A well known phrase about assumptions comes to mind...
  3. Wouldn't it depend on the state ? I heard something along the lines of it being a felony in FL. But that is all that I know.
  4. Guys/Gals. I appreciate your responses. I did not nor do I have any desire to try this. However I was just wondering IF ANYBODY HAS TRIED TO DO SO ! It was a veryy simple queston. So again, much respect to all Rigger Examiners, Master Riggers, and even Senior Riggers (j/k) - I consider this topic closed.
  5. Since you have never done this, your reply is useless to me. All the points that you make I already know. If you notice this forum is full of know-it-alls (both for real, and some who are just on a power trip). I know it's unsafe. I know it should not work. Yet please re-read my questions. Nowhere did I say that I am GOING to do it. Get off the high horse damnit ! P.S. To illustrate my point - My container has the largest manufacturer approved reserve in it, yet you still advise me on something I did not ask for advice on.
  6. Dude, seriously, reality check - if after a few emails you get no answer it's time for a chargeback. And being on both sides of the table, I can tell you that if you don't ship the product, a consumer chargeback will be honored. No ifs, no buts, no maybes. So quit wasting your energy where it makes no difference and call your credit card issuing bank and dispute the charges. I swear it takes all of 3 minutes to do. good luck If it's a debit card, it's not so easy. If the vendor disputes it, it's not so easy. If it's gone past 30 days, it's not so easy. If you can get the 300.00 back for me in 24 hours, I'll give you 20% of it. There are always exceptions to the rule. But there's no way a vendor can dispute a charge for tangible products without proof of shipping and subsquent proof of delivey. And if the dealer in question is in fact disputing chargebacks, then he is acting like a 1st class scumbag (keep in mind, I am writing of the assumption that that he has thrown in the towel, thus not answering emails is along the lines of not responding to chargebacks) Debit cards may be different, and I honestly don't have as much experience with them, but should still offer you consumer protection. as far as past 30 days - doesn't matter - if it's an issue of non-delivery - I believe most cutoffs are 180 days FOR CREDIT CARDS. Send me $60, I will see what I can do :)
  7. Aside from the obvious fact that manufacturer does not recommend it and such, - can anybody WHO HAS TRIED tell me if it can be done safely. Thank you.
  8. As long as the canopy has a few hundred jumps and microlines, you should be able to fit it in without having a major disaster. Don't be shy to lengthen the closing loop. Based on personal experience.

    Motion Sensors

People ! The rules remain the same : the low timer goes first, and you stay in the bushes and see what happens.
  11. I must say that the whole experience was ... interesting. I learned a) Ghetto lives up to his name every 5 jumps or so b) carabiners are good (that's why I had one, and my plan B was getting down, hugging you and clipping both our asses in c) when you have lots of things to snag (like cable ties with monstrous prodruding screws - BE EXTRA CAREFUL. Not that I didn't know it before, but god damn, nothing wakes you up like seeing a buddy unintentionally kite his canopy on a tower d) practice PC pulls are nice, but perhaps practice getting your cutaway handle isn't that bad, even though "we BASE jumpers don't need no stinkin' reserves"
  12. The odds of somebody who uses their real name ot sell shit to delivery so many lemons in our small skydiving comunity - aren't that great. Richard, are you sure that you didn't buy an AS-IS lot and are now just pissed off ? Just a speculation based on the fact that I see you buy gear from all over...

    Today in History

Congrats to all involved, except for Abbie.
  14. incidently, yes. And the ambulance didn't have cutters :). sorry to move the topic, btw. I agree with you, keep cutters, and picks handy, BUT NOT ON YOU.
  15. If you have the option to pull in before you climb, you always have that option after you land. I honestly think that what you are talking is an excuse that people use to get lazy. Again, I am talking about groups here, not single individuals.
  16. So, lets bump this and get some NEWER opinions. I had the HC3 on q quickrelease plate topmounted on an Optic - after bumping it into play mode on climbout (185) I shelled out $183+change for a bonehead box.... we'll see how it works. the main switch protrudes the highest on the cam, so I felt that unless you are ALWAYS jumping big jumpships and are fully aware the box will save you those few embarassing times...
  17. I have never been to the object discussed, but that always leads me to the questions that has been bugging me for years - WHY PARK YOUR CAR INSIDE THE GROUNDS ???? A healthy hike is good for the body, and I doubt most cops will chase you through the woods/whatever. Again, I am sure every object is different, but I make it a point to hike rather to be able to drive out .... OR NOT :)
  18. I go with "if wind blows around it" or "if it was meant to be a building". Though if the structure is mean/is a smokestack - I would log it as such. Of course that may be because I logged my B before jumping a stack :) BTW, what Nate jumped was an actual building. It was occupied for along time. Plus it only has 14 floors.
  19. Lets not forget that ALL guyed towers have 0 deg slope "straight up" vertical ladder, while many (if not most) freestanders ladders are sloped - and that makes a huge difference. Persnally I would consider 200ft in 10 mins a good time. IF its cold outside it really helps.
  20. wasn't the same young man (a redhead might I add) climbing without a rig and had to pass out for a few mins on the 900ft level ?

    Ohio over xmas

Ohio is a _moderately_ big state :) perhaps letting us know the city you will be in will help. yes there's jumping if you like the cold...
  23. well, hook a brother up.
