1. When I was doing my AFF course the purpose of the RSL was explained but I was taught to never to rely on it and always complete my reserve drills. That seems like the best way to me. I may be gullible but at least I have a magic fish
2. As Kris says, I was taught that when you hit the water you want to cut away your main CLEANLY...without running the risk of deploying your reserve as well. I'm not sure as to whether taking off your RSL would make much of a difference but I'd probably give it a try I may be gullible but at least I have a magic fish
3. Is staying current a precise thing...ie. is there a set of 'rules' outlining the maximum length of time different licensed jumpers can leave it between jumps without having to be assessed by the DZO? If it makes a difference, I'm an A license and jump in New Zealand, Australia and the UK. I may be gullible but at least I have a magic fish
4. The way I understand it is that AFF instructors are not obliged to teach the use of an RSL...it makes sense to me. Sure the student should know the purpose of all the equipment the're using, but if you concentrate on the importance of an RSL too much I think you could run the risk of letting the student rely on it rather than ignoring the fact it is there and completing any cutaway and reserve pull as if you're not wearing an RSL. Having said that, is there not a case for making sure the student is aware that there are cases when you might want to get rid of an RSL (eg water landings?) 6. With this being an all-encompassing, multi-cultural welcoming forum...I thought should all know how to swear in each others languages. www.insults.net/html/swear/index.html I may be gullible but at least I have a magic fish

8. Count me in, 5 years old, playing football (real football...not he US version of a load of big girls wearing padding!) Funnily enough, when I did AFF, it turned out my left leg (the one I broke) acted slightly differently to my right during freefall ie. lots of flapping around etc. I wondered if that was due to the break...it must have affected my development as I couldn't walk on it for nearly a year I may be gullible but at least I have a magic fish
9. 2...unless you count restaurant French and Pornographic German! I may be gullible but at least I have a magic fish
10. I saw exactly this on one of my last jumps...Tandem passenger was sobbing and crossing herself all the time from gearing up, walking to the plane and throughout the ride to altitude! The last thing I saw as I jumped was her crying and looking terrified...HOWEVER...she insisted she still wanted to jump and loved it! The video shows her beaming and grinning all the way down...although she said once was definitely enough! I may be gullible but at least I have a magic fish
11. Shortly after completing AFF, I got that sort of attitude from a Tandem Master (who happened to be in the plane on a fun jump at the time). I swear to god I almost turned around and hit him then and there in the door. I let my AFF instructor know about it when I got down and he had a seriousworsd with him and it ended there. What annoyed me even more is that I was waiting in the door for a 'go' signal from another TM as I was not over confident of my own spots yet. I may be gullible but at least I have a magic fish
12. A man and his wife are driving along a busy street, arguing over an alleged affair the guy's been having...the row gets more and more heated until the woman pulls a knife from her bag, reaches over and cuts off her man's member...if that's not enough she then calmly tosses it out of the side window! In the car behind, little Suzie is being driven to Sunday school by her daddy when the unfortunate mans manhood flies into their windscreen...sticks for a second and then falls off. 'What on earth was that Daddy?' Suzie asks. Not wanting to confuse or upset the young innocent...the father replies 'Just a bug honey honey...nothing else' After a lengthy silence, Suzie looks up at her Daddy with a confused expression "That bug had a fucking big cock didn't he?!' No, its two years from the time I take the sponsorship...on my present visa, I'm only allowed to work for any one employer for a maximum of three months...so I've had a few different jobs since I've been here I may be gullible but at least I have a magic fish

I'm not THAT young (26)...my philosophy has always been that when I hit 30, I'll start to think about being a bit responsible (unlikely I know!). I'm thinking I can get all this business out of the way before I'm thirty which still fits in with the big life plan?! I may be gullible but at least I have a magic fish

OK people, here's the dilemma: I'm english and have been travelling around the world for about 8 months now. I've got as far as Australia and have been working in Melbourne which is a city I absolutely adore. My employer has given me the option of something called 'sponsorship' wherby I have to work for him for two years without leaving the country (in a decent job) and in return I will be granted Australian residency and eventually will be able to hold two passports. (British & Ozzie). The choice is pretty clearcut: I either stay in a place I love (with excellent dropzones just down the road!) and get something I really want (an Ozzie passport) OR I return to my wonderful family and friends who unfortunately live about as far away from here as you can get. (In London, a city I can definitely do without!) As a group, I value your opinions greatly...PLEASE HELP...this decision is driving me mad Thanks I may be gullible but at least I have a magic fish
17. Condolences, god bless you all I may be gullible but at least I have a magic fish
18. Post the vid for us all to learn from / laugh at then! I may be gullible but at least I have a magic fish
19. A bit boring, but the nice, (safer) way to experience a bit of groundrush is to do a bungy. Personally I can recommend any of the 3 Hackett operations in Queenstown, NZ. A bit lame I know, but something to raise the heartbeat a bit whilst grounded! For your stats, lowest pulled, about 2500... 3rd solo...hop n pop... couldn't get stable... shit myself ! 20. Never jumped in my own country! Only NZ and OZ...they're both amazing...especially Taupo, New Zealand. Very busy with tandems but great people, good price, good weather and amazing scenery! I may be gullible but at least I have a magic fish
21. I do have Lupus...although it tends to only manifest itself every few years and the symptoms don't last too long as long as I get the right medication. I only started skydiving this year at it hasn't presented any problems whatsoever, although I always make the DZ aware that I'm on continuous medication before I jump. As far as I know, its a really diverse disease which affects people in a wide variety of ways, so my experience may or may not be of any help to you, but please feel free to PM or email me if I can help any more. Good luck! I may be gullible but at least I have a magic fish
22. About 40 in 4 months (however they were all in the first 2 months...then the weather went a bit shit!) I may be gullible but at least I have a magic fish

25. That's a bit of a limited poll. I hire a rig from my DZ (where I know and trust the packers). As the pack job is included in the hire cost, why not let them do it...especially on a hot day! I may be gullible but at least I have a magic fish
