  1. I took annual travel insurance with AXA Direct, if you take it out a week ahead on the web you get the best price. But this excludes cover on your rig. To get that covered I took out contents only cover (I'm also a renter), again with AXA, but what it costs you will depend on your postcode, property and the value you place on your "single max claim" item.

    love song fun...

Uh hmm Zee, Alana, yeah, thanks for the beers, I stick to my line, I'm no lightwieght, I was driving. Alana, next time I see you it'll be on your home turf and we'll see who drops first. As for lisps, its that damn thing you have in your mouth.
  3. I went on the Search 2003. Excellent value for money, excellent opportunity to meet and jump with some really skilled flyers. The Search covers a wide range of flying skills from packing to landing and a lot of the stuff in between. They also had Dr John DeRosalia give a presentation on sport/skydiving psychology which was pretty enlightening as well as entertaining. Scott Miller was there and spent some time working on canopy coaching. You also get to meet skydivers from all over the world. Very well worth both the cash and the effort. You may feel that the course has redundancy because it covers things you already know. In my own case I would have said packing. But in actuality I learned a huge amount of things that I just didn't know. Not only was I shown different ways to do things, the reasoning behind it was explained. If you can possibly stump up the cash, then go for it. An excellent experience.
  4. I wouldn't claim that driving is more dangerous than skydiving, but as I type I have a jumping friend in hospital who crashed her car driving to the DZ Friday 6th. Broken ribs, pelvis, hand, and multiple suspected fractures. I'm more open minded about the risks involved with motorcycling. And I'd definitely say that to achieve the same level of buzz from driving/motorcycling as I do from skydiving, then for me the risks become comparatively similar. By that I mean that I have to drive like a lunatic (and hence increase the chance of crashing), to get the same level of excitement. I stopped riding my motorcycle when I started skydiving. Skydiving is a less antisocial way to get an even higher buzz. But back to the point, I do have a friend in hospital from driving to the DZ right now.
  5. Yo Zee, Yep I'll be at Nethers that looooong weekend.

    Breakup songs

Blinc 182, Dude Ranch, Dammit, says it all. I've seen it on a couple of tandem vids, including my ex's. It's alright, to tell me, what you think, about me I won't try, to argue, or hold it, against you I know that, you're leaving, you must have, your reasons the season, is calling, and your pictures, are falling down The steps that, I retrace, the sad look, on your face the timing, and structure, did you hear, he fucked her? a day late, a buck short, I'm writing, the report on losing, and failing, when I move, I'm flailing now And it's happened once again I'll turn to a friend someone that understands sees through the master plan But everybody's gone and I've been here for too long to face this on my own well I guess this is growing up well I guess this is growing up And maybe, I'll see you, at a movie, sneak preview you'll show up, and walk by, on the arm, of that guy and I'll smile, and you'll wave, we'll pretend, it's okay the charade, it won't last, when he's gone, I won't come back And it'll happen once again you'll turn to a friend someone that understands and sees through the master plan But everybody's gone and you've been there for too long to face this on your own well I guess this is growing up Well, I guess this is growing up well, I guess this is growing up well, I guess this is growing up well, I guess this is growing up well, I guess this is growing up
  7. Vicky, Are you and Adam not doing 4way comps this year? 8/9 May is FS 4way regionals at Headcorn, I'll be there with the Aspect crew.
  8. You know I've had this conversation with so many people.... I'm blaming it on being an old fart. However, to make amends you did get a silver ring and a beer. Uh, and reinforcement and repetition works for me. Your now in the vault, that is my mind. Now where did I put the combination....
  9. I'd say April/May rather than March, because its cold, I'm a wimp and I'll be in Florida, more specifically, in the tunnel.
  10. Its worth going the extra mile for.... I voted Hinton, 'cause Nethers wasn't one of the options, but I have been to all of those and I'd still say Nethers. Cheap beer and bunkhouses within crawling distance.
  11. It was good to put another face to a name [Caz] and good to see the rest of you guys again. Macca, hear the people, start your DZ.com.uk meet thread. If you thought last nights performance was good, wait till you see me breathin' fire.
  12. I spent a lot of time trying to make me happy by changing someone else. I never did succeed in changeing her mind, but I did figure out how to change my own. Funny how I was the last place I thought to look for happiness. Stick with it, your life is in your hands, if my words have helped at all then I'm very very happy. Just be true to yourself and when the next shining star walks into your life, give 100%, its the only way.
  13. Thank you, that was beautifull... "she was nice, but she wasn't you..." Didn't see me in there anywhere Cheers
  14. A&S are, [rant]I was just whingeing about the way people in this country fail to cope with a dusting of snow. Sorry.[/rant]
  15. Whats the problem? I drive a rear wheel drive heap of junk and last night on my way home I have to pass through some country lanes. I caught up with the car in front, which pulled over in a passing slot and let me by. 1 minute later it was out of sight way behind. It was a Land Rover Discovery. Why can't people just drive? Its not that hard.
  16. I'll be wearing a disguise. AKA my work suit. The only person who has seen me in my work duds is Sian, wonder if you guys will recognise me.
  17. I wanted to be Captain Scarlett "indestructible", (UK peeps will know who he is). Well I love wearing red (scarlett) and last year I broke my fib and it didn't hurt at all, so now I guess I really am Captain Scarlett.
  18. I'm Ok, one of my co-workers has come out from London on the train, no problemo, so I'm guessing the trip in should be Ok. Plus I'm hungry now, so I'll be desperate for an Italian by tonight.
  19. Time doesn't heal. If you just sit around being miserable missing what you had, time will pass, but it won't heal. If you had a broken arm, would you wait for time to heal it? No you'd go and get help. You need to do something. Like most things in life, you can either sit back, go with the flow and see what happens (but be prepared to wait a long time). Or you can get off your ass and do something. Hurt men have a habit of withdrawing to their cave, holing up and licking their wounds in private. I'm not saying you don't need time, but minimise it. You need to fix how you feel about whats happened and you need to put that girl in your past. Lots of people think they are in control of what they think, but have no influence over how they feel. ie when I feel $hit because this person dumped me, I can't do anything about it and I'm doomed to feel $hit. The common thought is that to fix it, they need the dumper to undo what they did. Sometimes that happens. But if it doesn't then you are stuck, miserable because of what your ex has done. Well the news is, you can't do anything about what other people do. But you can "decide" to control how you feel about whats happened. There are lots of methods and techniques you can use to consciously take control of how you feel. Take that control away from the person who $hit on you. Now some people may think that using techniques and methods is an artificial manipulative way of handling your feelings and that its more natural to let your feelings run themselves. Thats exactly how I felt, till I found myself grieving way tooooo long. And if you think about it, by what she did isn't she manipulating how you feel? If you let other people change how you feel (by what they do), then why shouldn't you be able to manipulate your own feelings? I tried the chickens and the booze and yeah while the fog was there I didn't think about the bad stuff. But the booze cramps the rest of your life and while on my rebound I in turn hurt a really nice person who didn't deserve to be used. Shame on me for that. Don't go there. But seriously, if it was a relationship that meant anything to you then you probably made an investment in it. If you did, then good for you, the world needs more genuine people. And the loss of that investment is one of the reasons why you feel so bad. Her loss dude, real people are rare. Back to my point, time alone won't heal anything, you need to take action. There ain't no AAD for the heart. PM'd you with some specific constructive advice. Make your own luck my friend and choose to be happy.
  20. Get booties now. If you add them later when your more into RW, it'll feel like a step back not a step forward, because you'll fly different. Get them now and you won't have to unlearn your flying skills later.
  21. Alana, Nice work with the photos, babe, love it. You have awesome timing, given I hardly saw you all night.
  22. So... Hair decoration Trouser belt
  23. You've lost the plot Macca, no1 recognised beth because she normally has her hair tied up, and at the AGM it was down, I had to look twice too.
  24. Your welcome, I had a ball myself and yes next year I have to make sure I hit the dance floor earlier. Its just there are so many people to catch up with.
