  1. You mean they work! Yeah man, very pleased, enjoy.
  2. I really don't know the whole weekend from Friday night to Monday morning went in the blink of an eye and I think the bar had an rsl fitted straight to my wallet... Funny thing was the cost of the room when I checked out. I'd ordered 4 bottles of red, which I new was going to sting me. When it came time to settle up, they only charged me the single room rate, even though I'd said there were two staying in the room. So.... we're gonna have to hook this dance up earlier in the evening. You know how it is I'm old and my memory isn't what it used to be... Looking forward to my Italian.
  3. Hey sweetie, I'm sorry, I didn't think it was my driving making you green, I thought it was the previous 18 hours of extreme drinking. Didn't you think I took the trip home slower than the ride to the AGM. I had a fabulous time, the attendance at the psychology seminar blew John and myself away. Having been moved back to the last slot of the day, we were expecting only a handfull of peeps to show, with more people in the bar or getting ready for the meal. But it was standing room only. Totally wowed us. Hope people got something usefull from the presentation, apart from the free vids and pullups.

    BPA AGM Meet up

Yes BethUK is eating, she will be on the Team Aspect table, AKA Netheravon/Weston crowd. Cya there
  5. Bumped again, Jeeze, I saw the original incident post and wondered if it might have been Gus or Alex. Crap, Alex is a great guy.
  6. I'm not sure that everyone is as generous with thier contributions as you or I...
  7. Yeah, to put it in context. I'm likely to spend more money on beer this weekend than on membership.
  8. Tell me about it. Makes it doubly hard to raise private company sponsorship, when your ditched by your own governing body. Ok, Ok, I know thats harsh and any members of the competitions committee reading (who wanted to contribute) will tell you that if they'd known there was going to be a World Meet this year then they would have applied for funding. But, it still feels like someone dropped a ball. After all, even though the FAI changed it from bi to annual, other countries organising bodies are managing to find the cash. Oops [/whinge] HEY its only 1 more day to AGM and wild party, so I'm determined to be in a good mood.
  9. Ummm.... not sure... Really need to take a look at the published accounts to be certain, but my recollection is that the sponsored teams received exactly the same amount from the BPA as the BPA received from the Sports Council, ie membership contributions did not go to the teams. But likewise this is from memory and I may be wrong. All I know is that the guys in XL aren't driving around in Mercs, BMW's and Rollers...
  10. The sponsored teams get very little money from member donations. The vast majority of the funding the BPA gives to the sponsored teams comes in turn from the British Sports Council. The BPA didn't apply to the Sports Council for funding for 2004, so whoever does compete in Croatia this year will have to be entirely self funded. Thats one of the reasons why XL and VMAX aren't competing this year.
  11. Right, Montrose Scotland.
  12. I just thought, we're prolly gonna be introduced to each other in our own country, by a couple of visiting Yanks. Doh! Were going to have to work this one out, wouldn't want A&S to think they make the world go round.
  13. He he, you can rent this boat for the price of a pint. Its a pub called the Dry Dock. It features a bar formed from a genuine canal boat, hauled out of the water and placed inside the pub. Very quaint and definitely Black Country (thats a geographical region in the UK for those non UK types). Come on just think how many jump tickets you could buy for the price of a canal boat, no way I could invest that much money in a boat that can't do more than 8mph. See you at the bar, Saturday.
  14. Oi, Dudley isn't scary. If you want scary try Pensnett or Darlaston, just down the road. As for scary clubs, there's a place in Montrose I went to. During the evening, every now and then I'd feel a sharp tap on the back, but when I turned round there was no one (obviously) nearby. It was only when my friend, who is a local, finished his drink did I figure out who had been tapping me on the back. He swigged the last from his bottle and then tossed it hard over his shoulder, completely casually and without looking where it went. But I was facing him and saw it arc through the club and dissapear into the crowd. Lots of people in there with thier faces painted with the Rangers colours. Now I have some very good Scottish friends but that was a scary club.
  15. Sure is... complete with sticky carpets. They feature a lot more live bands than they used to. Classy venue.
  16. And there I was worried about splashing out on a new silk hankie for my top pocket. Jeeze, this week is going to crawl, roll on Friday. Sadly I have a feeling that when I get to next Monday, the weekend will be a blur and a whirl.
  17. Uh, almost forgot, there's also a pub with a canal boat for a bar, where you can legitimately barge your way to the front of the bar.
  18. Yeah, there's the castle and zoo and... ...and there is a KFC which is still open at 3am, when the club next door closes. Make sure you catch me at the AGM for a beer, you can have a copy of my team video and a pullups for free, as long as you promise to show it in the Wings bar.
  19. I'll see you Saturday, arriving early am, beer head screwed on and tourists in tow.
  20. Yeah, I know how to treat a lady, though the Dudley/Birmingham canal isn't exactly Venice!
  21. All I saw left on your plate was bones... Question to help you prep for next Friday. Do you know what a canal boat is? You'll be having beer and dinner in one.
  22. Hi ladies, Thanks for a very entertaining evening, never knew the moons was so pretty. Catch you Friday.
  23. 1)will we require aad's? Ask BendyWendy she runs manifest at Sebastian. 2)what is the minimum jump number or qualification to jump video over there? Ditto 3)will we be required to join the USPA (we are already members of the bpa and i hold an fai B licence (will be C by the time we get there) Yes you will need to join the USPA and you'll need to sign the DZ waiver which at Sebastian is couple of pages and a dozen copies of your signature. 4) what are the rules regarding freefly decents Ditto 5) what type of aircraft can we be expecting to be climbing out of at 13 grand?? Umm at Sebastian they have a Caravan and you'll prolly be climbing out at 13
  24. Hey, I vote you go Thursday, already got a small crowd gathering, so the more the merrier.
