Has Wikileaks been a positive point in this election cycle or a negative? The current bias of the media is so apparent it has made me wonder. Wikileaks "steals" information - a journalist has a unnamed (and protected) source. The country seems to be divided into two camps. Trump or Hillary no matter what they have done or said ...... But the traditional media didn't bring use half the information that Wikileaks has. I UNDERSTAND that if you are a Hillary supporter you see it as unfair - and well it may be. I think the reason its "upsetting" cause your being shown a video where the LEO DIDN'T just shoot the guy when he had a gun. They gave him warnings...someone earlier said if he 'flinches" then you shoot. I'm damn sure these guys were as ready to go as anyone could be and TWO still got shot. Given the number of people that have guns.... I don't think it's such a "small majority" then add the people who may not have a gun but really don't have a problem with gun ownership and there's a LOT of them ....and I say that's a lot of people. I'd guess the press which gins the issue up and a small minority of very vocal anti- gun people are the other side. Someone mention the number of suicides each year (20k?). I bet we all agree that's a number we'd like to see come down - but one side just thinks gun control will fix it, the other thinks it doesn't matter. How about we fund mental health services in this country? For most of the posters here - it's "my way or the high way" really just the same old tired shit. Nice how you dismiss that in both cases the people chose to ignore commands give by the officer. Is that always a reason to get shot - No. But in the case of the fellow with the gun....it sure drives the odds up. Have you not noticed that in the disabled car - the officer has been charged? Not really.....short of it showing him come out and call the LEO MF and point the gun at them and pop off a few rounds.... it wouldn't good enough to satisfy some people. The family has already come out with "he was backing up" Like a man with a gun can't kill you backing up. My brother is a detective.....he makes less that 45k a year with over 20 years service. FWIW I realize in some big city's the pay is better but over all the pay for local small departments isn't high at all. That's whats driving me nuts. We don't (as a society) seem to want to pay our LEO much.... It seems to work better in England and Germany but it's a lot harder to become a LEO over there and it pays better. The police carry lethal force, and an authority to use it, pretty much all the time.
