  1. Hell yeah... hallucinogens.
  2. really. it's not gluttony. why are 40% of americans fat. that's right fat. it's called fast food. mcdonalds, bk,kfc (all of which treat their animals ... well like pieces of meat...no quality of life. do these places help your existance? enhance your life? i'm sure you would do just fine without them. yet, 40% of americans are fat. nah, no gluttony here. you're right, i'm wrong. sorry.
  3. well said. I'm a 31 year old male who's been a vegetarian for a little over three years. I do it for ethical reasons along with some health reasons. You can be a vegetarian and still be good to chickens and cows by buying free range chickens and drinking soy milk. It is pretty hard to completely cut out animal bi-products... gelatin is in tons of stuff... but you can try to make a difference. It is also easier to eat healthy, being as it's hard to eat fast food (which is the downfall of today's obese society). Burger King is one of the only places that has a veggie burger. Also, I personally feel that animals weren't put on this earth to be glutonously eaten. Animals were here long before humankind yet somehow we feel we should be able to murder them by the millions... half of which is wasted... so we can have a nice steak. For those of you with children... how would you feel if your child was kidanpped and murdered. Go ahead and say it,it's not the same, but, a life is a life is a life. Who are we to say whose life is important or not? We're a bunch of assholes. That's all
  4. I have a full on freeride bike with with a SRAM X-9 rear derailleur... it always shifts smoothly when I need it to, but just like any other components, they need to be tuned up and adjusted here and there. The experienced downhill riders at the shop recommended SRAM over Shimano because the cable goes straight into the rear derailleur, whereas on Shimano, it loops around, making it more susceptible to catching on something and tearing it off. Anyway, hope it helps.
  5. No... no relation. Albert Hoffman was a Swiss scientist.
  6. There are numerous accounts of this time, including the scientific logs of Albert Hoffman. The term 420 has been around since the 70's... perhaps there was a loss in translation somewhere. "Three days later, on 19 April 1943, Hofmann sets out for the first voluntary LSD trip in the history of man. Because he cannot yet judge the enormous efficacy of the drug, he takes, at 4:20 pm, with 250 microgram a relatively high dosis – and gets to know the hallucinogenic power of the substance with all its intensity" http://www.lsd.info/symposium/ah-en
  7. My two favorite companies are 1) Never Summer...the bomb diggety and 2) Forum...the next bomb diggety. Just my opinion.
  8. 3 years ago I spent the season in Summit County. Breck, A Basin, Copper, Keystone (the outback is very nice) and of course back country on the divide. You can hike out pretty far, drop in, ride, and once you're at the bottom, stick out your thumb and catch a ride. Also, tons of places to pull over and shovel out a nice kicker. Summit County is the shiiite.
  9. 1) I disagree on the belly mount... more shit for snagging. 2) There is one advantage to handcam... nice shots under canopy C
  10. I was doing a tandem and I had tension knots on my main that I couldn't fix... chopped it... and had tension knots on my reserve. So, yes poo-poo does happen.
  11. Dude, in case of an emergency, you could still bail out with your student and they're not going to fall out...they might sit a bit low in the harness when the canopy opens, but they're not gonna fall out...hotshot.
  12. I happen to jump in an incredibly touristy area and get tips on 90% of all my tandems. They range anywhere from $20 to $100. A good way to promote tipping is to have a guest book for your students to sign. Keep the guestbook open flat. On one side, have a place for them to write their name, where they're from, comments, etc... and on the other side have something printed out like..." just like waiters, waitresses, and bartenders, our instructors rely on most of their income from gratuity. Although not expected, tips are appreciated." Play with it a bit to see what works. Also, remember, it will depend a lot on the geographic location of your dz. Hope it helps.
