  1. Fair enough - if the mil judges decide there's enough evidence to bring him to trial. Well, then you can't decide that until he has a trial, either. "Deserter" is a specific term under the UCMJ. So is "AWOL/UA", and they're not the same. It saddens me to see how many ex-military personnel don't understand that, or choose to ignore it. Absolutely under Article 85 and 86 as I stated above. Again we will see and I am willing to bet I am right. Propblast
  2. It's also possible that, for example, he stupidly wandered off by himself, not intending it to be permanent (which is the less serious offense of AWOL, not the more serious offense of desertion), and then got his ass captured before he could clear his head and get back to the right side of the wire* - which is not "going" to the enemy. Shades of grey, dude. Embrace them. (*which is the scenario I'm increasingly thinking may be likely) It is not possible. He left, in a combat zone. Off a combat base. By himself. You have to understand how soldiers are accounted for and work. It doesnt even pass a smell test. I understand your want for him to be a freed POW. The fact of the matter is he wasnt. Propblast
  3. Can we not muddy the waters on this. John Kerry has very little to do with BB. Time will tell. BB deserted his post. He went to the enemy. He is back. Propblast
  4. Do you have problems with comprehending what I've written? Nope. Bet I am right. Propblast
  5. The proof exists. Do you think every member of his unit is lying? Do you think all those reports are false? You normally dont sound like a conspiracy theorist, but do now. There is plenty of proof. It is not my job to do the leg work for you. This guy should be charged under article 85 and 86 of the UCMJ. It is not a partisan topic. Just fact. Propblast
  6. Has he confessed to this? If not, what non-circumstantial evidence of this do you have? As I said above, I don't deny the circumstantial evidence, but so far that's all it is: circumstantial (unless he's confessed in the meantime, or you know something about the evidence I don't). I am sure you can find the reports on the internet if you look hard enough. I am not one to inter into debate here but, I think everyone needs to be intellectually honest. He deserted. I am glad he is back but he is far from a hero. Propblast
  7. I wouldnt bet on this if I where you. Propblast
  8. What are you referring to? He left his post. Soldiers then died looking for him. Propblast
  9. Disgusting is what he did and how many good men died because of it. I am glad we got him back but please don't think this guy is a hero. He is the farthest thing from it. Propblast
  10. The new system is far from brilliant, at least the reserve handle itself. The T11R is way to sensitive. Propblast
  11. Different rig it and the RA1 both can be staticlined and obviously have cutaway systems. Propblast

  13. I'm presuming it's because the rigs used in most lower-altitude mass airborne drops use reserves that don't have pilot chutes, and are designed to be hand-deployed while the main remains attached, so they don't want a set-up that's too easily cut-away prior to landing. You don't want an airborne jumper who might jump below 1,000 feet under combat conditions to be jettisoning his main at 400 feet. Shot and a halfs were originally designed for post-landing usage, to jettison the canopy to prevent being dragged. If I'm wrong, I'm sure someone will correct me right quick. 100 percent right minus the reserve. The t11 is pilot chute assisted. ( and sensitive)Have you seen these as they don't look like the shot and a half I have seen before. Not that I'm a expert. Propblast
  14. Partially true. It has three rings. But no cutaway handle. Rather a hybrid canopy release. Propblast
  15. Sigh... You truly are special. Good luck, hope you don't hurt someone else. Propblast
  16. Neox When you are the only one that "gets" your irony. Perhaps the receivers aren't the one with the issues...... You definitely don't seem to be getting it. Propblast
  17. Which is to bad. I have a heavy interest in all that gear. I find it fascinating and by more damn manuals on old parachutes than anything else. Propblast
  18. http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/mystery-oregon-corpse-could-be-oldest-missing-man-marvin-clark-n93241 I think DB Cooper will be found round a campfire at a DZ. Only a skydiver would do this stunt, purely for the hell of it and not spend any of the money. If the money renters circulation I might believe different but this is my new thought based in nothing. Just a thrill seek. Propblast
  19. I think he is hiding in a thread on dz.com unfortunately there is so much drama not related to him there you can't even see him. Hiding in "plane" sight. Propblast
