Do you need a D to skydive...no. So really you still haven't given a point other than a hatred of night jumps....that you like...I mean don't like...I mean like. You don't like the D requirement. Don't go get one. Plenty of people don't. Propblast

You show skill in picking the spot and planning your outs. You show skill in freefall. You show real skill under canopy flying it using differing landmarks and also differing visual ques. Jumping at nite is a skill all of its own and not one to be taken lightly. There is real skill in doing it well. From planning and prep- through execution. You call it a meatball exercise, I bet I can find ten people in a minute to say the same thing about general everyday skydiving. Just because you don't like it and it makes you uncomfortable, doesn't mean there isn't any skill to it,or that it doesn't demonstrate a skill set. Eta : oh nevermind.... Propblast

It has nothing to do with accidentally. It is a demonstrated skill. You have shown that you can jump at night - so others that want to jump at night know you have familiarity. As stated above nothing says you need a D license. But, if you want one - you will jump at night or fake it I guess Propblast

Very much so Propblast

Night jumps are a lot of fun and I've done many. The problem is jumper comfort and as you can tell in this thread-not a lot of people are comfortable at night. Propblast

Need a feline? My cat sometimes sleeps in my helmet when it's laying aroung Har har. Not anymore. I seem to have developed a feline allergy.... Now a helmet reline would be rather nice. Alas I think this helmet is done for. Propblast

I got to bounce around a BT-67 in Mississippi. It is an impressive and pretty tail dragger. I'd like to jump it as well. Propblast -

Looking to create a list worldwide. Who has additions. Propblast -
Ah, but ........... the ability of another aircraft to differentiate if a distant light is somewhere in the sky or in the distance on the ground may be the fact that it is blinking. The pilot might think, that light is blinking, maybe I should pay attention to it. Bingo. Propblast

Strobes are required equipment. Absolutely correct. And when rigged correctly will not blind you. Propblast

So when you don't get what you want....like a grade from a professor....the professor failed? Just because Congress didn't change it doesn't mean it failed. I too prefer Denali ... Guess what? This was a stunt when so many pressing problems need dealt with. Propblast

Analysis of Scuba Fatality - Familiar Themes to Skydivers
propblast replied to NWFlyer's topic in Safety and Training
I have been a deep technical diver for years. The parallel between people getting into freefall and to skydiving are amazing. Noobs who want to progress without experience. Guys that have experience that cut cornors to get advanced more quickly. Folks that think they are the exception to the rule... Propblast -

Your Modern Sporting pistol could be illegal.
propblast replied to jgoose71's topic in Speakers Corner
I have a question . . . 1) This is a shotgun pistol . . . where does this fall in your "pretty simple" Turtle, are the barrels "rifled" in anyway? If so it isn't a shotgun... Propblast -

They may brag about it....but it isn't true. And often even if they can, ammunition is hard to come by for them. It isn't as easy to procure an illegal firearm and ammunition in Canada as it is in the US. Simply because there are far less guns and ammunition in circulation. Ha ha ha. Funny. I'd love to know what you base this 'fact' on. Propblast -
Thanks all. I will use your advice. Propblast
