Type "Australia" in the "Search User Name" box, and change he drop-down menu selection to "Country."   13. Wow! That's almost 12 tandems a week, jumping every single weekend for 10 years! I don't know any female TMs - over here they are few and far between. But, I know that our very own Skybytch used to do tandems. You might get some more insight from her. Out of curiosity, how many mals have you had in 6100 tandems, and of the mals, how many did you pack yourself?   19. Definitely DZ attitude in general. Case in point: Skydive New Mexico. I was there in 2000 when they were at Coronado Airport and using a Cessna 207. Club operation, slow pace. Small aircraft. Great people, awesome vibe. People are there because they LOVE to skydive. Some pretty interesting characters too. I would definitely go back again. Arrive Safely John

  21. Lots of possible situations and actions here, but here goes . . . Big airplanes, away from the door - anything comes open: -contain it and get the door closed -move the jumper forward -remove his rig and stow it safely in the cockpit or under a seat -seatbelt him in for the ride down -if it's a student, I will ride down with him Big airplanes, near the door - anything comes open: -contain if possible and get the door closed, follow steps above -if any part of it gets out the door, clear the way for the jumper's inevitable exit -exit with them to lend medical assistance after landing Small airplanes - anything comes out: -contain it, get the door closed, EVERYONE rides the plane down I will rarely attempt to restow a BOC P/C that has come completely out or close a container that has come completely open.   23. I skipped the A License and got B13814 in July of 1989. I'm starting to show my age. Arrive Safely John
  24. I won't buy a rig, new or used, without seeing every stitch of it. When I bought my new rig two years ago, during my pre-assembly inspection I found an abrasion on the reserve where it had been rolled over with the wheel of a chair. The manufacturer gladly replaced it immediately. I recommend to anyone that fresh repack or not, they have their trusted Rigger go over it with a fine-toothed comb before you buy it. Have him give you a detailed list of what he finds and a recommended action for each item. Arrive Safely John
  25. Years ago, when I jumped canopies such as a Cruiselite XL and a Raider, I packed the canopy to open fast. I pulled at 2000 FT, the USPA minimum for my license level. I spiralled down aggressively to get packed and manifested for the next lift. When I was a GK, 2500 was out standard deployment altitude, which became my average kinda by default. When I started jumping a camera in 1998, I raised my pull altitude to 3000 FT, where it remains today when jumping my sport rig. My routine deployment altitude for tandems is 5000 FT.
