  1. You missed last weekend when he bet one of the packers that he couldn't do the runway circuit in one hour carrying one of the other packers. The bet lasted about 4 minutes before they gave up, but it was funny as hell... -T1 C-30757
  2. Wingnut, Where are you going that you'll be 4 hours from Perris and 8 hours from Eloy? -T1 C-30757
  3. What's up with the news? I liked their statement that it is unknown whether they were taking off or landing... How many jump planes land with 22 people still inside??? Hope everyone has a speedy recovery though... -T1 C-30757
  4. Shark, You and the frankenrig better get down to Otay this weekend. Looks as if we have one of the Eloy otters and the caravan for the entire weekend... Probably won't be up at Elsinore. -T1 C-30757
  5. No, Shark... All hop-n-pops at elsinore are to be conducted from 7600 ft... -T1 C-30757
  6. You could always go with a protec. They are rather inexpensive and have a good deal of padding. I jumped one up until I bought my camera and helmet. -T1 C-30757
  7. Advice would be to ditch the sabre and buy a spectre... I'm betting that you really don't have that option though. -T1 C-30757
  8. I did a 7 level AFF course and I'd say you could pound it out in 2 days if you have good weather and pass every level the first time. My suggestion would be to go during the week when the DZ is less crowded and you're not fighting for instructors/aircraft. As for the rest of the jumps to get A liscense qualified, you could probably do them in 2 days if you were really motivated, were using rental gear (I assume you will be) and have a packer (I assume this too). You might want to let the DZ know you are on a time constraint when you call to schedule. Good luck. -T1 C-30757
  9. Shark, The more people that see the frankenrig, the more the fear will grow... I would and have lent my rig out to people I trust implicitly, but I would have to be somewhere on the DZ when they're using it. -T1 C-30757
  10. Fruce, I've been there myself. It's definitely an enlightening and scary experience. I'll never forget it again though. One of the videographers at my DZ caught me do a similar thing with the chest strap and gave me a heads up in the plane. Now I don't jump without checking that and all handles at least 3 times prior to jump run. It happens to everyone and you're completely right. We have to look out for each other, there's no room for error in this game. -T1 C-30757
  11. Shark, Sorry, I actually had to get off the board for a few minutes, go figure, I was actually expected to do work or something... The nerve of some people... Viking, I'll be around this weekend, I might be going to Elsinore though, but I'm sure I'll see you around. -T1 C-30757
  12. wmblaine, Sounds like it's time to foot the bill for Cable or DSL... -T1 C-30757
  13. Grasshopper, You always have to talk crap don't you? I knew you were going to brag about this weekend even though you said you wouldn't. So how about those Hop'N'Pops? Not a bad deal if you ask me... Later. -T1 C-30757
  14. I's have to agree. AZ is definitely awesome. And you can't beat the weather, unless it's 120 degrees out then it's a little much... With 2 DZ's within 20 min of each other you have a lot of options too. Heading back out there in a few weeks. -T1 C-30757
  15. Nah, Struthers would probably take half the money and waste it on more twinkies.. -T1 C-30757
  16. Welcome back Mama... I'll be moving down to FL this summer, maybe we'll run into each other. -T1 C-30757
  17. Personally I would not jump without my Cypres. I like the idea of the factory 4 yr test over having your rigger test it during repack. How many riggers out there actually have a pressure test chamber for this purpose anyway? Just a guess, but I would say not many. I think another thing that you might want to consider is resale value. If you're going to sell the unit when you get a new rig, there are definitely more skydivers out there that would buy the Cypres over any other AAD on the market. I have seen alot of AAD's at some of the bigger West coast DZ's and I would say that 90 percent of what I see is Cypres. -T1 C-30757
  18. While I don't have a sidewinder myself, I would have to say that it definitely is a smoother design with less chance for snags. It was designed from a full face RW helmet so I'm sure it will do you well. So the question is not did you make a mistake, it should however be are you comfortable with the setup because you're the one who it's going to be attached to. Good luck. -T1 C-30757

I wouldn't say you're a bonehead, but I think the point here is that if you all broke and tracked together and you ended up below the other guy then maybe you weren't flat tracking. I don't think it was right to call you a bonehead for that, as it's happened to the best of us, but it's something that we all can improve on to make those zoo dives a little safer. -T1 C-30757
  20. You might be right. Why do today what you can put off till tomorrow? It might also be that there's not enough PC-5's on the market to warrant the cost of making a box for them yet. -T1 C-30757

Sounds to me like one of us has some sort of dramatic death wish... I would worry about being on a plane with this guy, but ours is a sport that tends to weed out those individuals who are not conscerned with their own well being. I just hope no one else gets injured while Darwinian Theory plays it's course. -T1 C-30757
  22. Well, when you don't have to benefit of a reserve in your container, it's probably a good idea to pack the only canopy you have like a reserve... -T1 C-30757
  23. I would consider that offer, but I bought the PC-5 in part because of it's compact size. I think putting it in a PC-100 box would kind of defeat the purpose. They've designed boxes for every other camera under the sun, what's so hard about making one for the PC-5? -T1 C-30757
  24. Propblast, Might I suggest using a laser pointer? Although it might not be a good idea unless you want to get him all riled up. -T1 C-30757
  25. And it's cheaper too... Too much climbing and running involved. It's not really a relaxing sport. -T1 C-30757
