  1. A good friend of mine did the coordination for the Fort Hood Freedom Fest demo this past July 4. What he did was get a tasking from the unit (III Corp tasking) asking for the demo. He was able to get us a Blackhawk to do the demo with along with a few practice jumps. At the regimental level I don't know if you have the resources, but your next higher HQ may be able to help. 2. I know I am slightly behind the times on this but, has anyone seen this game? Never been one for the Everquest style of game but I was pretty impressed. Amazingly it is free online. For my computer gaming nerd/fellow skydivers this is worth a play. 3. That is funny. ROFL Chris -------- "Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body; but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting 'Holy s#$* what a ride!'"
  4. After looking at the Skyride website I came up with the following conclusion: ALL THOSE PEOPLE IN THE PICTURES JUMP AT A LOT OF DROP ZONES! I have seen their pictures in all of the Skyride DZ webpages. Must be cool to jump in all over the US like that. 5. Hi all, I am getting ready to head to Europe to visit some friends and have a vacation for a month. What are some places that I cannot miss while I am there also are there any great places to jump (I will be taking my rig)? A few of the places I have in mind are: London, Stonehenge, Scotland, Ireland, Paris, Prague, Berlin, Transylvania, Rome, and Milan. Would love to add a few more. 6. Pretty much forget taking I-10 right now. I just made the trip taking I-20. I-20 was clear, just getting gas was tricky in MS. I traveled from TX to GA yesterday. If you do find a gas station with gas you will be waiting. I waited for nearly 2 hours. Hope this helps Chris -------- "Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body; but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting 'Holy s#$* what a ride!'"
  7. I wonder when these guys will get put out of business. Have they been reported to the Better Business Bureau? I noticed that their website is still up. I can't imagine the numerous people that are getting screwed by this place. I know our DZ in the past had some poor souls who got taken by those guys. 8. I am getting ready to move back to GA after living in Texas for the past 4 years. I have recently received my Strong Tandem rating and would like to be able to eventually use it in GA when I get back. I am just looking for a DZ that uses Strong Tandem rigs as well as a new home DZ when I come home. 9. I agree with Voodew1, this takes the fun out of it and if no one gets bloodied or bruised in the event then it doesn't count! 10. Been there done that, got the T-shirt. :-) Chris -------- "Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body; but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting 'Holy s#$* what a ride!'"
  11. Does anyone out there know of a free DVD encoder that I can download to convert an AVI file so it can be viewed on a DVD player. I have found a few but they alwasy leave a watermark logo which is annoying. Any that don't put a watermark would be great. Thanks Chris -------- "Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body; but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting 'Holy s#$* what a ride!'"
  12. Yeah, but in order for the points to score you have to drag just your toe as you pass the windblades, not your head and the remainder of your body through the beer zone! Chris -------- "Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body; but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting 'Holy s#$* what a ride!'"
  13. Then where could all the money be going to? Thats a lot of cash! The only thing I could think of is one of those wind tunnels that cost like 5 figures per hour to operate. I will be interesting to see all that goes in it. 14. Congrats to all those who competed this weekend at the 1st official Chris Christian Pro-Am Swoop Tour at Skydive Temple in Salado, TX. Congrats to Voodew coming in 1st with 55 points. Hope your tennis ankle or knee heals before next weeks meet. Honorable Mention to the Professor with an EMS call out (we have to work out a point system for this one) Stats were as follows: Voodew (voodew1): 55 pts, 6 jumps Ted (Professor): 35 pts, 6 jumps Juju: 20 pts, 6 jumps, 2 cases Wendy (faulknerwn): 20 pts, 4 jumps Zack: 10 pts Rich: 10 pts, 1 jump Christian (cmchristian): 5 pts, 1 jump Chris -------- "Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body; but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting 'Holy s#$* what a ride!'"
  15. How could this project involve $5 million? Are they doing some serious wind tunnel testing on this? Otherwise this sounds like a get rich quick scheme. Chris -------- "Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body; but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting 'Holy s#$* what a ride!'"
  16. Yes, that would be me. The latest and greatest thing to hit the swooping tour. You should come out and compete sometime, if your tennis ankle isn't acting up again Once I get the web page up I'll start posting meet results. 17. How is that game? I haven't played it yet. I loved the Desert Combat Mod for Battlefield 1942 and enjoyed it. Also how does it compare to Joint Operations if you have played that? 18. I have a group of skydivers from my local DZ looking at competing for a meet in the TSL. Since none of us have any experience in competition we were looking at going with the rookie class. However I have 500 jumps (most of them being RW) and the other jumpers will average around 250 jumps would we still be able to compete at the Rookie level or would we have to go to the Advanced Class. 20. Thanks, this should get me started. The database should be simple. Pretty much a members database. Thanks again for the help. Chris -------- "Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body; but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting 'Holy s#$* what a ride!'"
  21. I am currently working on my website and would like to incorporate a database into it (i.e. Submit data to the database from the web page and search the database from the web page. I have MS Access. Anyone know how to do this or know of any good online tutorials to do this? Thanks for any help. Chris -------- "Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body; but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting 'Holy s#$* what a ride!'"

  23. I am honored but I rarely ever go through to completion on building web pages :-) Thanks for props though. Chris -------- "Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body; but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting 'Holy s#$* what a ride!'"
  24. Jeez, I see another dating web site popping up regarding this post :-) skymatch.com A website of skydiver personals. Or like a skydiver Hot or Not site. That could be scary. 25. This seems easy enough. If you don't like the prank then approach the dude that did this or is doing this and tell them to stop. We have had pranks go to far at my DZ and approaching the individual about it worked.
