  1. NO mate. The difference is this canopy was an F1-11 that had who knows how many jumps on it. What I am telling you to do is maybe look at going lower than a a 230 F1-11 to something like a 190-210 ZP. There is a big difference between F1-11's with loads of jumps on them and a ZP. You really need to speak to an instructor about the difference in an F1-11 and a ZP canopy. The biggest mistake a student can make about gear selection is to start looking for gear while still doing AFF as you have no clue about you should be looking for yet. Wait until you have 25-35 jumps and go speak to an instructor and your local dealer about what would be good for you. You might fly safer on a 190 ZP canopy than or a 210 than a 23-260 F1-11 canopy. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .

  3. When i was running marketing for a dropzone in new zealand I organized plenty of demos. Each demo we did, were like jumoing into all black rugby games and big radio station events etc.... We charged $1000 a demo, anywhere from 4-9 jumpers. Cessna to porter. Not once did any of the jumpers get paid. My demo jumpers included the likes of J.C... wendy smith, New Zealand 4 way team and also the new zealand CRW team the jellyfish. They did it for the sport of it. One demo Wendy made into a complete swoop demo for the hot air balloon festicval while JC was visiting. However there were always perks when it came to demos and that is how i paid my demo jumpers... For example each demo into international Rugby games My demo jumpers would get Box seats, or even just freetickets to the game, as well as a free top class motel with spa bath etc and i would take them out to a sponsors bar and they would put ona nhuge bar tab for the night and they would be first on the list ot be invited to anything that the customer was inviting me to such as concerts etc. The demo jumpers i found did it for the pleasure, They loved the box seats with full bar and food watching super 12 games and the sheer enjoyment of doing a 4 stack diamond in to a park with flares and 40,000 screaming rugby fans and Live interantional television. If i had stayed on their i would have like to have found a way to pay these guys the same price as a tandem master or a camera jumper. These guys did not want the money though, they wanted to be the guys who got the phone calls from me asking them to jump into international rugby games. As modest as they were about they loved the feeling. This is just my experience with paying demo jumpers zero cash but paying them with thrills instead and the satisfaction that they were the guys called up each week to do more. I wish i stuck around there more as that was also the highlight of my job.... Getting celebritys to jump for their tvshows and hanging out in box seat rugby matches and having radio stations phone me up for live interviews about our dropzone events etc..... The contract went so good that we ended up getting the dj of the radio station we did the demos for as an AFF student who always talked about skydiving on air. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  4. As I said in My pm, consider the canopy size. I get a feeling that you are saying 230 because you here of all these people rushing to small canopies in the incidents section etc. I dont know your wingloading on a 230 but student AFF canopies are not much bigger. Someone with more knowledge here might want to point out that depending on wing loading with a canopy this size you may be flying backwards under the slightest wind and may find being on the same restrictions as a AFF student is. I just think you may be being a bit too conservative and maybe someone here can help you more with this. However, i may be very wrong and this canopy is poerfect for your weight/size. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .

  18. "The body of John Lantham of New York was found shortly after 4 am in the 4300 block of Grand Avenue. Ted Worden, a doorman at the Tower Lofts complex, heard loud noises coming from the victim's loft. Concerned for tenants' safety, he entered the loft and found the body hanging from a beam in the living room. According to Jaime Ortiz, a police spokesman, the incident was deemed a suicide after medical tests. Latham (sic) is survived by one teenaged son. Memorial services will be held at the Hoffs-Drawlar Funeral Home tomorrow evening." .Karnage Krew Gear Store .

  20. Never thought a kite would have a slider... Is there a reason for the slider? This guy seems very obsessed with parachutes, is he going to get his A license so he can jump his creations? .Karnage Krew Gear Store .

  24. I am a distributor so would not be byast towards either of them in a public forum. I think the guys at both companies are excellent people and I have had the pleasure to meet people from both camps. I also agree with you, ppl should make informed purchases and we should do without the drama.. such as what this guy has given us. He must think this is a soap opera or something. In my opinion if you need anything from a manufacturer, go through a dealer, they will give better prices and they will deal with the drama. The manufacturer has far too much going on to give the service a good dealer can give. Yes I am a dealer but i thrive on giving great service as many dealers do. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  25. He does have every right to complain. However Mistakes happen and for another skydiver to tell other skydivers to never purchase gear from a certain company in our community that strives to put out good products at affordable prices is very uncalled for. Sure he is pissed but to make an effort to stop others from ever buying from a company that make parachutes for us to jump is not a nice thing coming from someone in our community. For some reason it makes me think if we accept this sort of calling out from members of our community it makes me wonder if there are people out there who would accept "dont ever jump a such and such, cause someones died jumping that".. or dont ever jump at such and such dropzone cause the plane crashed and ppl died etc". We are a community, yes these people are business people who make the parachutes but they are fellow skydivers who put their entire lives towards the research of making better parachute for us and keeping us alive while we use them. I am against anyone coming into these forums and bad mouthing any aspect of skydiving (apart skyride) when the people involved dedicate so much to this community..... In regards to Aerodyne, or UTP for that matter, Look at people like Karl and Egons who are or were always in a different part of the world.. yes promoting but also educating us on their products and our life saving devices. For any of these companies to make a balls up mistake, well it is acceptable for a business to make a mistake, we need to accept in life that shit happens, mistakes get made, things get lost. Whenever someone has had a problem with any business in skydiving and someone has posted in these forums a rep from that company is always here to explain in detail exactly what happend and how they tried to resolve the issue. This shows how much these companies care about their customer service as well as us and as well as their products. My hat goes off to anybody who works for any of the manufacturers in our sport as their jobs are not 9 to 5 they are 24/7 and i have never met one person from any of the manufacturers who has not dedicated their life to their job... the people who benefit from this are us as a community and for us to try and ruin any skydiving manufacturers (not that it will happen) or attempt to ruin them we should not accept this from them. This thread should be edited, the name calling and the never buy from this company should be deleted. He has every right to let us know how they fucked up but I dont think we should accept him trying to ruin a business in our sport. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
