PhreeZone 15 #1 October 19, 2003 Well, it looks like the World Champians in Freefly are in the US Nationals as a 4 way RW team. Not only that, but they are entered as an Advanced team instead of at the Intermediate level. http://www.omniskore.com/comp/2003/nats/teams_pics/302.htm Looks like they are proving to be great all around flyers. Stacy 0 #2 October 19, 2003 It absolutely rules that teams do that. Airspeed usually puts together a freefly team, etc etc. Good for them!!! It's nice to see that people try to be well rounded. __
lazyfrog 0 #3 October 20, 2003 well, you need at least a few seconds flat before opening and you need at least 1 or 2 to make the flat base for a hybrid jump I've seen Julien Losantos (french RW4 and RW8) coaching the guys from Babylon for some RW (ok, it was the 10 way speedstar during xmas boogie..)---------- Fumer tue, péter pue ------------- ourson #10, Mosquito Uno, CBT
sunnydee123 0 #4 October 20, 2003 I was a bit surprised myself when a group from Sebastina made a last minute trek to Nationals - and the first thing I saw was Rook and Mike Swanson in RW suits turning points on the floor. It was actually very cool - thinking these awesome freefliers were not above having fun on their bellies............Fun in the sky, any way you can get it! Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...
grega 0 #5 October 20, 2003 It's even better if people are supported when they are all around flyers. Here i'm trying to fly both too (Freefly and formation style). but whenever i appear in RW suit most of my friends is making fun of me, like it's a bad thing to belly fly... probably because in my heart i'm a freeflyer. I know it's just a joke and i'm laughing at it too, but... And the two worlds Freefly and Formation style, are kind of separated. we are all friends and all but, when it comes to flying noone will listen to someone from another discipline.... But maybe it's just me seeing things this way?"George just lucky i guess!"

AggieDave 6 #11 October 21, 2003 QuoteI'll never post again! Thank god! Oh... j/k Personally, I believe that belly skills and FF skills are vital to a jumper. You never know when you'll need them or get to use them. Sort of like having some CReW skill as well, it comes in handy.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." WrongWay 0 #12 October 21, 2003 I agree, every jumper needs belly skills, they're the basic survival skills we all need. And please don't mention CReW again in this thread, Phree might never shut up. freakydiver 0 #13 October 21, 2003 IMHO "freefliers" that ONLY freefly are missing out on some fun stuff on their belly anyhow. I just do not understand the attitude that belly flying isn't as "free" as free flying. Last time I checked, it all seems extremely fun to me. -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
SuperWoman 0 #14 October 21, 2003 Doing both is great! I think freeflying really helped me with RW and they even let me be on a team this past summer, fun stuff!
AggieDave 6 #15 October 21, 2003 Whats wrong with CReW, I love CReW. I'd love to finally get a jump partner that would want to break a FF dive off a bit high so we could do some CReW on the low end.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
