DSE 3 #101 February 16, 2009 It's less than .5" off center from the center of the body point, so any mount with a recessed plate is going to allow for offsetting. you could also forego a QR and simply thumbscrew it to the shell, and drill that hole off center. I don't have a RAWA to measure, but surely the flat portion is wider than 2"? The centerpoint of the thread is at 1 3/16" so it's close enough to center, it should be a moot issue. Rover7 0 #102 February 16, 2009 Usable mounting surface on the rawa is about 2 1/2 wide by about 3 3/4 long, so I should be ok.

DSE 3 #104 February 16, 2009 between you and Scotty Burns, I'm gonna be so busted with Sony.Cam is 2" wide, and with the larger (FP70) battery, it is still shorter than a CX. FYI, the CX12 is now discontinued at the big box stores.
guscabana 0 #105 February 16, 2009 Thanks, that made it. " Go here and rotate the cam. You can see the bottom of the cam, where the screw hole is located. http://www.sony.jp/products/Consumer/handycam/PRODUCTS/HDR-CX120/parts.html "
joonas 0 #106 February 16, 2009 QuoteThis will probably clear up how small/ easy this camera is to mount. Whoa! It looks good. I think that a carbon fiber box is too clumsy for that small camera, so I made a sample of tight neoprene jacket. I'll post some pics when the final version is ready. If someone is interested, I may do few extra jackets. :) Edit: clove -> jacket ;)

DSE 3 #111 February 18, 2009 I bought a couple through this link, because the BH affiliate program puts a coupla coins in a skydiver's pocket. Talked to Barry Schilben at BH today, they're not in the Jersey warehouse, they're initially drop shipping. Interesting. FWIW, I bought red bodies. Rover7 0 #116 February 18, 2009 I've gotta say, as much as I want the MC1 (by the way I thought that was coming out this month?) I think I'm just gonna get the cx100. Probably 1/3 the price and I don't have to deal with that long cable running down the helmet into the jump suit.
excel485 0 #117 February 18, 2009 Just order the camera(black) with hype eye pro, filter, xtra battery, 16gig memory stick, mim charger, and extra 3 yr warranty. Should be here fri or monday!! Cant wait to get my hands on it. My poor credit card is gettin a workout between the camera and helmet, but well worth it!
bdazel 0 #118 February 18, 2009 Whew. That's a pricey order. Congrats. Mine is also on the way. I'm finally making the upgrade from a PC9. And I'm doing it on the hope that Sony's faithful EIS will not crap up during freefall. My fingers are crossed.

bdazel 0 #125 February 18, 2009 Quote>Any suggestions? Raynox 5050 with an adapter. Do you have this lens? How does the viewing angle match up to a 1.6 crop factor SLR? I've been shooting 17mm and a .45 Titanium with great results - but the Titanium is ready to retire.
