I wonder if the sled was just dropped into the ocean with no chute? Looks like it is rigged with something but cant be sure. Any jumpers with military S/L expereince care to comment on the canopy extraction seen in the 727 video? Normal? Special? The photo chase plane shooting the 727 drops is a Beech 18. I'd say that we can be pretty sure it wasn't going faster than 195 knots and its speed is probably more like 150. He has now reminded me that the FBI sled did have a chute which can be seen in some of the test photos. The man has a steel trap memory. Mine is more like mesh (not acid mesh, an inside joke to old riggers). He tirelessly researches things and shares the results openly. No book or movie agenda. Doesnt seek publicity. He is the Merry Prankster of Parachuting. Someone who knows chutes can sort out some of the technical misinformation, but as to things like chute ownership, types of canopies that were in packed containers, you have to take him at his word and that's a crap shoot. 3772018 marks half a century as a skydiver. 377 21 #26762 October 18, 2011 Snow straightens me out all the time, and without scolding me. I thought Braden had done SOG night jumps in Nam and Snowmman reminded me that there is scant evidence of that although Braden did lots of risky stuff on missions. He has now reminded me that the FBI sled did have a chute which can be seen in some of the test photos. The man has a steel trap memory. Mine is more like mesh (not acid mesh, an inside joke to old riggers). He tirelessly researches things and shares the results openly. No book or movie agenda. Doesnt seek publicity. So he insulted Q and dusted it up with a few others. Thats's bad behavior but it doesnt deserve a lifetime ban. There shoudnt be any lifetime bans in my opinion. You can always give serial timeouts. How about letting him have another chance Quade? Are you worried that mercy will undermine your authority? Nobody here would think less of you if you gave Snow a trial re-entry. I am just asking Quade to give Snow a chance to be back on the forum. He has served a pretty long sentence already. He'd contribute more if he were on the forum rather than having to do everything by proxy. I don't think anybody here opposes his reentry to the forum. If he Breaks your request, Then he should be Banned from DropZone and not just any thread For Good.As it stands Snow can monitor any thread on DropZone. He can PM any one he wants. He gains no points from most skydivers for letting us continue, believe me. I don't think Quade requires bows and scrapes, just good behavior on the forum.
