no, he hasnt...thats what he told me on the phone.

Does he have the wire running around the waist through the arms sleeve? If so, how does he let go of the rig and hang in it with his feet. Also he deploys out of the rig. How would you deal with a malfunction in ths situaation. I am just curious to learn his trick of the trade.

he told me he had the wire running through his sleeve to the saddle. In order to put it on ( my guess) is that he has a quick release to disconnect the wire once he has his arm through the harness..from there is the ususal procedure...but he is never "unattached" from the harness, either by wire or holding it. We didnt actually dicuss the finer details, but he admitted he has it on a wire..at least at the start. When I proposed doing one totally without...his comment was " Boy I would REALLY have to get some BIG bucks for doing that".

reminds me of this famous french stuntman who trained for a SUPER SCARY stunt, climbing down a rope ladder from a glider to another one... every practice he made with a chute on his back went fine... when he demoed it without the parachute... he fell... [:/] the other stuntmen with parachutes on didn't manage to catch him before impact.. I think it was Remy Julienne...

When Greg Gasson was first doing base jumps early in his jumping career (~mid '80's) he smacked back into a wall and was slightly injured. Because he had to be 'rescued', there was a newspaper story about it. He made the mistake of mentioning how he was going to be in trouble from his mom!

He took a lot of shit from the other guys at the DZ (Larry Hill's Wild Horse West) for that.
People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am

the only chuteless jumps on "Thats Incredible" that I have ever heard about was done by James Tyler(or Taylor) and he was the 2nd guy who did two of them. I talked to Dar Robinson and he never mentioned anything about doing or helping to do a chuteless jump. I would like to know more about this IF its true.

The first chuteless jumper was Rod Pack. I was there and saw it all, it was at Arvin Ca., I believe around 1965. Harry Haynes flew the Cessna 206, I believe, He had his flying liscense suspened for allowing the jump from his plane. Rod was a professional Hollywood stuntman at the time with only around 300 jumps. It was big world wide front page news at the time. He received $20,000 for the jump, alot of money at the time. Bob Allen, his best friend, passed a belly ward reseve to him in free fall.
They exited around 14,000, Rod got the reserve at around 10,000. Harry Small, the rigger, made a special harness for Rod that had 2 D rings the pointed out to clip the reserve onto. Rod opened around 300 ft. He said after ward that if the reserve didn't work, he didn't want alot of time to think about it. Rod was a big hero after the jump, and a hell of a guy.

You are right, it was Jimmy Tyler. He did it twice, once landing under one canopy after hooking up with Bill Parsons. They left from different A/C. The second time he caught and hooked into a rig thrown from another A/C. Dar Robinson did a plane to plane jump, but he wasn't the first on that.

It was over Wellington Oh, in 1972, I know this because I was there and we used my dads place
for the landing site instead of our normal DZ. The jump was from 12500 out of a C185. Bill Cole used
almost all this to get the chute. He was a good guy
but not so good at RW. There were 2 safety jumpers
with extra d-rings and risers to hook up if something
happened, like a premature opening for the man who went base with Bill's chute, or if he lost hold of it in freefall.

hi everyone!!! What is the guy's name that is the paragear on the first pages? The one who's hanging on the leg stap with only one hand. Doesn't he jumps without a rig at the first place and then has someone to give it to him in the air and then puts it on, pulls and then gets out of the harness again and does all that crazy shit?

a french stuntman did that stunt walking on the wing of a glider to another glider in flight... did 6 rehearsals with a chute on, the 7th was the one without the rig, only a tandem passenger harness... he fell and unfortunately the skydivers who were there "in case" didnt manage to catch him... that was 10-15 years ago..

Wow, Redmond, WA. ...

That's where Dav3e had his house. Apparently he just sold it though since he is living in Austraillia with his new wife, Hellinahandbasket & their new little girl. His house in Redmond was so cute though since it was all paneled in Cedar. It smelled like my mouse cages, in which I always used cedar chips. It somehow seemed so appropriate seeing as Dav3e is such a little mouse! He was recently in DeLand for some length of time, trying to beat his record of 15 Cessna formation. Haven't heard the latest, but I am going out to DeLand on the 6th for my B-day and that of my SO's Carl Daugherty, whose B-day is on the 15th of April. So everyone send him an email. His address in [email protected].

Unfortunately since Joe Morgan just lost his life on March 16th, it will be more of a memorial event rather than a B-day celebration. Apparently the Joe Morgan memorial stuff will be on the 10th of April. There is a memorial website for Joe Morgan at:
http://www.bingen.org/Joe/
There will be a symultaneous ceremony at Perris Valley since apparently Joe Morgan was also a Perris getto guy for a while. The contact person there is Al Frisby. Everyone say a prayer for Joe!

And here's last month's version, done by a guy with 100 jumps. http://expn.go.com/expn/story?id=3055619
Of course he just might break his neck doing a triple back flip on his dirt bike next month, but oh well, he's probably getting laid as much as he can stand now.

Bill,
I can remember that jump as if it were yesterday. I was flying jumpers in Zhills.
Can you please fill us in on the practice runs you made, how you worked up to the actual jump etc.
To the best of my remembrance I think you did several practice jumps prior to the actual, it would be helpful to know what you did to work up to that final effort.
On another note, at some point I remember hearing about a jumper who exited an aircraft, which then went down almost vertically and the jumper then hooked back up with the aircraft.
Anyone remember that?
