Geezers set TX record

Congratulations! I'll bet it took a lot fewer jumps than it took to NOT make the POPS record, right?

There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)

Well, um, we didn't get it.
Lots of really nice-flying formations with a couple of people out, or a little slow, or a little flush.

A few without enough people, but we were still a person or two out.

No malfunctions, no injuries, a LOT of mud (it was rice-paddy wet in the field), and a little too much canopy traffic to avoid the mud. But fun, and lots of people to talk to.

Such is life.

Well, we did it on the first attempt, and then repeated it to show it wasn't a fluke! Unfortunately the picture has a little light industrial haze in the background, so I doubt Parachutist will publish it.

Forgot to mention that on the repeat SOS jump (which did not have any light industrial haze) our cameraman, a national champion and world class freeflier, forgot to turn on the camera. Good job it was just a repeat!

Please post the pictures and Video's.

I'll see all of you in Perris.

I don't own the rights to any pictures or videos, Steve. Maybe someone from Spaceland will do it.

Ok,

Now there were four video guys filming this attempt... and I'm only one of them :)
But... seeing as Tequilagirl already gave out the link...

My "favorite" shots:
http://www.shutterfly.com/pro/CKossan/Skydive/NEWPOPSTX06

And the rest of my shots that weren't deleted upon viewing:
http://www.shutterfly.com/pro/CKossan/Skydive/NEWPopsother

On a side note, the event DVD is in production. Running time will be approximately
an hour.

For those of you who pre-purchased it, you won't be waiting long :) Anybody else that would like a copy contact me ([email protected]) or Eric ([email protected]) and we will add you to the distribution list.

Hi Cory,

One of the shots that Eric printed showed a guy landing on the grass in a huge spray of water. Do you know if it's posted anywhere? It really captured the spirit of the event!
