The "truth" of the statement depends greatly on how long the person saying it has been skydiving. quade 3 #20 May 12, 2010 QuoteWhy do you think that's so? The cost? Loss of passion? Hard to say exactly. There are at least as many reasons for getting out of the sport as there are for getting in and maybe even a few more. What motivates somebody to take up skydiving is something that might be completely fulfilled in the first 100 skydives. Or 10 or 1000. but in any case, once that motivation has been fulfilled, he's mostly sticking around out of habit or friendship, but it's still an enormous drain on time and finances. At some point, most people just let it go. Contrast that with the instinct to have sex which in most people doesn't go away until fairly late in life, if ever.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

wmw999 2,148 #22 May 12, 2010 I know a lot more people who have given up skydiving than who have given up sex. They might not be gettin' any right now, but they sure hope that status isn't permanent.
