QuoteThat is the ability to find a remote exception (if we are to believe you) and then attempt to portray it as the norm.
Surely that was the purpose of your question?
jakee 1,330
QuoteQuoteQuoteAll you have done is twist my question to one that better suits your thinking.
But your question was a distortion of reality anyway, so what's the problem?QuoteSo lets try it another way. Suppose you are on patrol with a 135lb woman and you weigh 265lbs. You get wounded by a sniper but are still alive as long as you can get medical treatment within 15 minutes. Would you rather have a 135lb woman to drag you to safety of a 220lb male?
Are you arguing against women in combat, or just anyone who weighs less than 200lbs?
I just enjoy watching you get confused.
Just as long as you realise you're adding nothing to the actual topic.

That 135-lb woman would be me. And yes, I can carry a 265-lb injured man.
Next question?
Then you missed the 3 posts I made saying if a woman can pass the physical and mental requirements the I have no problem as pond as the standards aren't lowered. Or perhaps reading comprehension isn't you strong suit.
No, I didn't miss those. You asked a question, the premise of which I was simply illustrating was flawed -- especially in light of your insistence that standards not be lowered. I comprehended that loaded question just fine.
No, what you were doing is illustrating one of the things I have always found so laughable about many of the people who pst here. That is the ability to find a remote exception (if we are to believe you) and then attempt to portray it as the norm. The they snort away feeling self justified and self righteous. I find people like that highly entertaining. Thanks for the laugh.
What you're doing is exactly like what Nelson did when he put the telescope to his blind eye and exclaimed that her could see no signal.

You'd better explain to him you don't mean Ozzie Nelson.
I'd better explain to him I don't mean Ozzie Osbourne.

Oh, you women with your "this is what happens in real life" nonsense again. This is the Internet. He had a perfectly good image in his mind of what he imagined the world was like; don't go trampling all over it.

Due to the rigorous selection processes employed by many specialist combat units it is my opinion that females will not be serving as badged members of such units. For example the NZ SAS has been open to females for years, but no woman has passed the cadre course (I am open to correction on this). Regardless I believe that females do have a role in SOME combat positions.

And I for one have no problem with that at all.

QuoteFor those comparing a 135 lb female to a 200 lb male, dont forget to take into account their armor/ammo/equipment etc. Realistically that could mean an individual weighing in excess of 300 lbs. Some of the supposed teeth-arms male troops I have seen do not have the physical shape to drag or carry someone of that weight.

Shhhhh...you are trampling on their fantasy of the Amazon Women being their saviors from the comic books they read when they were children.

Besides the guy wearing the camera is so out of shape he can barely walk across the street. Surely a woman could walk around like this, hide out in an empty house, and count her empty mags just as good as the men can. If you call this combat.
I doubt the men wouldn't let women run forward and take out the ONE guy that held 50 of you down, the only problem with allowing women in combat... they might show up the men!
And stop shooting if you can't see anything! No wonder you are out of bullets!
I'll take a 200lb male next to me over a 95 lb woman. The rest if you can continue your Wonder Woman Fantasy an continued belief that all men in combat are out of shape gasbags and all women are lean mean fighting machines.

Damn. Beat me to it.
But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.

Look. I hate to admit this, but I'm a bit lonely here in Belgium. Since you are 'taking' the 200lb man, you don't mind if I 'take' the 95lb woman, do you?
Thanks for taking one for the team. You're a real mate!

All the other women with whom I serve fit the same description. I'm not the exception.
