QuoteQuoteAnyway, they see what has happened in the war theaters and now in Bengazi.
QuoteThe country, and I for that matter, hold those who serve in high regard.
Holding some one in high regard and politics are two different things.QuoteIt is not hard to understand why they might prefer Romney over Obama
Like I said...he'll give them more money and toys. Bread and circuses.
I am not surprised you think of them in that way
It is sad
But I am not surprised

if we falter and lose our freedoms,
it will be because we destroyed ourselves."
Abraham Lincoln
if we falter and lose our freedoms,
it will be because we destroyed ourselves."

It's not sad, it's human nature. Almost everybody does the same thing.

Again
I am not surprised you see it this way
It proves to me you dont know thost that serve here
The few I have met prove to me there is more to them than what you post
And firstly, it is a great love for country

A lot of them join for a variety of reasons -- some mature, some not so mature (remember, many of them are still teenagers).
The military helps to mature a whole lot of them, at which point their motivation to either complete their tour or stay on probably changes with that maturity. Service is high on the list for many of them by then, either to country, or just to their buddies/unit.
But every soldier/former soldier I've known has been a human being, as well as being in the military.

There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)
