     Dave Dewolf

CELEBRATION OF LIFE for our beloved Handsome Dave - June 29, 2019 at Maytown Sport Parachute Club. MSPC is located at Donegal Springs Airpark (N71), 188 Airport Road, Marietta, PA 17356. The celebration will begin at 3:00PM. at 4:00 there will be an ash drop at the Susquehanna River. Transportation will be arranged at MSPC as we will need to carpool. We return to the airport afterwards. Dave is providing the beer and Harvey's Bar-B-Q will be catering. Trudy extends her thanks to all for the well wishes and offers of assistance. ~from The Herd Facebook page

Dave had many "saves" himself and when you multiply that by all the riggers he trained the numbers would be in the thousands. A life well lived.

    Email from an attorney .

Wendy: My guess is they looked up S&TA info from the USPA data base. Mark: Can I use that? Ha!
  4. Any body else get one of these? The attorney is from New York Fucking ambulance chasers.
  5. I was 18 and I did it to impress a girl. It didn't work (the girl part) The skydiving part worked great and after I started jumping I didn't care about that girl anymore. I met new girls. Girls that would show their tits in the airplane. Great times! Onward and Upward!

    Dealing with high shock loading

Yes! Simple solution; magnets on the slider stops. Tabs could work as well, similar to slider locks on the risers but sewn on the slider stops instead. This would certainly help to keep the slider in place during the packing process. Onward and Upward!
  7. Ok, sorry. You would know. I was jumping at Ralphs at the time. Onward and Upward!
  8. Jerry, I don't think Sheridan was ever a group member DZ. Ted was personally kicked out of USPA for life. I do not think anyone else has received a harsher penalty from USPA than Ted did. Onward and Upward!

Anyone have contact info for a Paul Iglin?

Peter, According to the FAA, time limits are to be addressed at the time of initial TSO certification to be valid. National is still manufacturing parachutes under the same old TSO from years ago that never had a time limit. The only thing that has changed at National is their manual. With that said and understood, there are not any National parachutes out there that have a 20 year time limit according to the FAA. MEL The same is true with softies (Paraphernalia) I have an F.A.A letter somewhere that states they can not impose life limits because none where stated under the original TSO. When we contacted the manufacturer they told us that the 20 year limit was just a "recommendation" and not really enforceable by law. So you have two options as a rigger, you can refuse to pack a 20 year old softie because of the manufacturers "recommendation" Or you can go ahead and pack it because technically it is perfectly legal to do so as interpreted by the F.A.A. Vigil service bulletin from Nov 9

Anyone with a list of containers with the cutter located above the PC? I can think of Mirage, Icon, Infinity... What else ? Any guesses on why it is more critical when the cutter is located above the PC? The Infinity before 2009 had the cutter below the PC, it was relocated to the top of the PC after that. I prefer the older version. http://www.velocityrigs.com/media/site/supplement-cypres-cutter-location.pdf Onward and Upward!
