yep, but the local workers will beat them to it...

That's funny,,,,,fucking hell,,,,,I worked for a local onion farmer in Ontario for a few months,,,,he has no choice but to bring in migrant workers to work the fields to ensure the crop is cared for and harvested, he can't find "locals" to do the job, even offering 3 to 4 bucks an hour more than minimum wage he can't get "locals" to work. apparently the work is too hard and the hours too long :S:|

Unfortunately your logic is flawed

Unfortunately your logic is flawed

I think it is more than flawed logic

His argument(s) start from a false premise

If one looks into how he frames his arguments it is easy to see
"America will never be destroyed from the outside,
if we falter and lose our freedoms,
it will be because we destroyed ourselves."
Abraham Lincoln

which is why the minimum wage has to be increased...

We have already had this debate with you, ad nauseum. Lets just agree to disagree on the impact of a change in the minimum wage. It isn't something we need to debate unless we like hitting ourselves in the head with hammers!

one impact will be local workers will be more inclined to work - rather than leave minimum wage work to immigrants. thus less immigrant and more local work done...

What ever you say DD.

I won't get drawn into a debate with you when you chose to ignore the entire body research done around the minimum wage. This is stuff that is widely accepted economic theory and is taught in economic 101 classes all around the world.

If you want to ignore the impacts on the supply side of the equation I am going to ignore you! :D

I could have sworn when I opened this thread this morning prior to heading off to work that the topic was about a bunch of zipperheads who do not possess the skill to drive their high performance automobiles at the limit.

no, the thread is about the 1% thinking they own the road and repeatedly crashing our economy...

Well, they DO own the government.

The worse things get, the more he has to bitch about, and the more he can complain about and blame the wealthy. Things aren't bad enough for revolution, which means that things need to get worse so he gets what he wants.

The worse he can make things for everybody, the more people will look at him as having a solution that will destroy/slay/purge the "wealthy," with him getting a prime share of it and leaving the miserable masses looking to him and his intelligentia for satisfying their basic needs.

You'd have thought poverty would be solved in the 45 years since the Great Society began. Nope. It's gotten worse. Just like they want it.

Nope. That's the more exclusive .4% (of Americans making campaign contributions beyond the $250 the FEC requires reporting of with the bulk of such contributions to some candidates being at the $2500/person or $5000/couple statutory maximum), PACs, and corporations big enough to employ their own lobbyists.

Too many folks too spoiled! Hell, they're too used to being 'taken care of'!
Recently, there was an earthquake in Oklahoma. I was watching the news about it and they were interviewing a woman who had recently moved there from California. She told the interviewer that she knew, there were earthquakes in California and tremors, on a daily basis. She went on to say that Oklahoma is not supposed to have earthquakes and wanted the Governor to do something about it! :S:D
