OK. The fact that she wasn't injured (ETA: she says she is sore and swollen) is a lucky break for everyone involved, not a minimization of the original wrong committed against her. And if you think that whatever her past record may be (I'll look it up in due time) in any way justified, or is relevant to, how she was beaten-upon, then you seriously need a remedial junior high school social studies class.

As for my "radical agenda", in your neck of the woods anything slightly left of Mussolini is considered "radical", so excuse me if I consider the source.

I can see where the threat was real. It is considered assault, I believe. (Obviously I'm not a lawyer) Perhaps one could clarify here.

I do believe that the security force there should have handled it. Whether that was feasible or not, I don't know. It is totally unacceptable to allow a civilian with high emotions the responsibility to contain anyone.

I believe that charges should be filed on both the man with the head stomping fetish and the woman that assailed Paul.

Wendy I wish I could live in a world like yours, where you have ample time to view and dissect an event that ocurred in seconds, while watching it from your computer screen. Let's say I got a little bit of experience dealing with hmmm, let's say "wackos" for the sake of argument. Sometimes you do not have the time to react, but at least you have the choice to defend yourself, or your asset with as necessary force as you may need. That was the first thing that came to my mind when I saw that bit of video. Candidate getting out of the vehicle, clearly this woman was close to him, and then she was subdued, violently, but it looked to me that the objective was to not let her move. Not everything in life goes according to plans.

The window was open (dumb; but that's irrelevant). It looks to me like she started to hold the sign up to the window for Paul to see it, realized the "message" side was turned the wrong way, started to turn it around to face him, then she was shoved back. I think if she were to be charged with attempted assault, any judge viewing that video would throw the case out at the preliminary hearing stage.
