Lifted on His wings,

I'm not a Christian--but this is SC so I'm allowed to debate civilly :) --so I have a skydiving related question for you.
When I sat in on the FJC at Skydance in Feb for my refresher training, one of the questions on the test was who has ultimate responsibility for my skydive. The answers were:
(a) myself
(b) my instructors
(c) the state of California
The correct answer, of course, is (a).
But my question is--if you were an instructor and you had a student who wrote in a fourth answer saying "(d) Jesus Christ" has ultimate responsibility for their skydive and for ensuring they get a good canopy above their heads--how would you respond?
I would say they totally missed the point of student training and understanding what being a Christian really means. At that point I would redirect back to emergency procedures.
Good answer.

No thanks. If being Jewish was good enough for Jesus, it's good enough for me.

Jesus would probably do nothing just for the killer ground rush, while, in the process, saving humanity from damnation & resurrecting just to do it again! Beat that Chuck Norris!!

QuoteIn the case of a pilot chute in tow, there are 2 schools of thought: (a) deploy reserve immediately, or (b) cutaway first, then deploy reserve. What would Jesus do? (I sure hope it's not "turn the other cheek.")

Come on! Jesus is Spirit. He doesn't need a parachute.
BTW, the phrase, "God helps those who help themselves," is not found in Scripture. Many believe it to be true. The statement is more correctly a rationalization from the reprobate mind of sinful man. I don't mean to be insulting; it is just a common misunderstanding.

QuoteIf Jesus did come back a second time, don't you think the last thing the poor guy would want to see is all the crucifix's all over?
The crucifix is specifically a Roman Catholic symbol. I don't think it is applicable to ascribe emotions to Jesus as you would an ordinary person. I believe Jesus is emotional, the scriptures document anger, weeping and love, but His are for mankind and not Himself.
I am not smart enough to dismiss all gods. Out of all the ones there are, I have chosen the One that saved me from my death. That experience occured 16 May 81 when I was stranded in the Sierra Nevada Mountains in California. The Scriptures tell us He is the Lord of lords. I verified the statement beyond reasonable doubt. It is an individual choice and experience. We have free will.
The soul is comprised of the mind, the emotions and the will. We each make choices our own way. Satan wants your soul. Jesus says he doesn't have to have it.
