Not all of California is comprised of a bunch of tree hugging atheists! In fact, we have some very, VERY conservative districts.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
normiss 622 #4 October 7, 2008 Religious "whackos" are scary when they're that far out - no matter the party, no matter the state. I still want beer before noon on Sunday dammit. Gets colder when it sits in ice ALL day!
PLFXpert 0 #5 October 7, 2008 In Florida we have Prop Two "Marriage Protection Act". I find the phrase ironic. I voted "No" for whomever cares (I vote absentee). I like California's Prop Two, though. tonyhays 86 #6 October 7, 2008 I can't help but laugh at the religious whackos who insist upon forcing their morality on others. Why don't you worry about the happiness of your life rather than other peoples. Whether it be gay marriage or abortion, these guys have lost the war. Maybe eventually they will realize it.“That which can be asserted without evidence, can be dismissed without evidence.”

chaoskitty 0 #8 October 7, 2008 Quote I still want beer before noon on Sunday dammit. Gets colder when it sits in ice ALL day! How do you think WE feel in Georgia? We can't buy any alcohol on Sunday, and some cities don't allow restaurants to serve it. You really have to plan ahead and hope your friends dont drink all your beer on Saturday if you want to get hammered and nailed on Sunday. (And who doesn't!) Sorry to get off topic.. back to California and whatever is going on out there.
PLFXpert 0 #9 October 7, 2008 OK, totally dumb question here but... Do your grocery stores take it off the shelves on Sundays? I've lived in "the bible belts" and liquor stores were/are not open on Sundays but, you can still buy beer and/or wine at the grocery store.Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back. normiss 622 #10 October 7, 2008 no m'am you cannot! If the storage has doors, they're locked. If it's open access, you are refused purchase at checkout. True "liquor" stores, closed in the blue counties. Makes you feel nice on a Sunday morning at the grocery store, surrounded by folks in their Sunday best...trying to buy beer to take to the dz! PLFXpert 0 #11 October 7, 2008 WTF? How could I not have known about this? This is an abomination!!! Refused purchase at checkout? That's fucking weird. I buy a lot of wine. My local grocery-store manager knows us. We shop the organic section (Hello? Priceeeeey. ) I even have the cute little quarter-sectioned "green-bag" for my wine. Me thinks I'd not be refused. kelpdiver 2 #12 October 8, 2008 the extent of blue laws in CA is after 2am, the grocery stores might block off the liquor aisle, but usually not. They just won't sell it. I'm not sure when in the morning this is lifted. Presumably 6am.

This is actually pretty good, where else could a person get 9/11, divorce and AIDS in one clearly concise argument? The only thing left out is how gays took the weapons of mass destruction. __________________________________________________ "Beware how you take away hope from another human being." -Oliver Wendell Holmes

Those pushing that envelope get might disappointed when they're a minute too late...or that's the way it was 10 years ago.
