Would You Vote For Hilary?

Recommended Posts

Sure, I'd vote for Hillary--right after I finished pissing on the flag and burning it.

IMO Hillary represents the people of this country about as much as Hitler represented the people of Germany.

Despite what the media would have us believe, I know that the typical American is a really honest and decent person. I don't think she's even close.

She strikes me as dishonest, manipulative, arrogant, and "all about Hillary". I don't think she's capable of representing anyone but herself.

I've seen discussions by commentators who wonder about her decision-making capabilities. They seem to gloss over her character flaws.

If she does run and win, I hope her running mate is Ted Kennedy. After all, if we're going to have Hillary as President, why not have an alcoholic murderer for Vice President?

I do tend to be a bit too subtle at times--especially here in Speakers Corner;):D.

Right on, dude. When the TV commentators talk about the possibility of a Hillary Clinton presidency, the foundation of their discussion is based on a very ugly truth. Many Americans will vote for a total scumbag if they think it will benefit them or their cause. From that perspective, she is a viable candidate.

She has a strong following and and is making gestures to appear more centrist. The Dems should use that to leverage someone better suited for the presidency with her in a support role.

I don't like her at all and even if sincere in some of her larger positions (I don't believe that for a second) I think those positions are very wrong and not logically based at all.

Would I vote for her? Probably not - I don't know many high profile politicians that I trust less than her. But it does depend on who the opponent is. We've had a bad track record of putting up decent candidates from either party and I trust the dem primaries to have worse people on the ticket, and I trust the republicans to also put up someone 'nearly' as distateful too.

They can't help it.

Unfortunately, you are correct. It seems that the best candidates always lose in the primaries. For example, Bill Bradley and John McCain were eliminated in 2000, when either one would have arguably had broader appeal than either candidate that actually won their respective party's nomination.

Dead on. I like her better than most of the previous posters, but I think she'd be a disaster as president -- about as divisive as it gets.

Some of her support is the Clinton name, and some of it might even be her previous championing of a national health plan -- unweildy though it was, health care cost control is a real need nationwide, and it's not getting better.

People with insurance are seeing the costs go up, and people without are either doing without health care, or just going anyway. There are three tiers -- those who can't and don't pay themselves, those who can and do pay piece-by-piece as long as they can, and those who pay for insurance (i.e. are in a position where they can work full-time for a company that offers it -- in the vast majority of hte cases, that's what it takes).

The fact that medical costs for self-insured companies are going up enormously makes it clear that it's not just "those darn indigent" driving up the costs.

So, that said -- I'd vote for her before someone equally divisive on the right, but after a whole lot of other people.

That is an excellent point. Although my tendency is to "vote my conscience", in situations like this last presidential election, I will vote for the lesser of two evils because voting my conscience would mean not voting at all.

In case you are wondering, I voted for Bush. Not because I thought he would be a great president (I didn't and don't) but because I thought he was slightly less bad.

In the case of Hillary, if her opponent were even worse, I do think I would choose not to vote.

Exactly, visibility in an emotional issue - even though she championed a horribly flawed and biased plan still puts her in the minds of many.

We have people that get promotions here for the same thing - their programs get royally screwed up, then they fix it. People only remember the fix and not the cause, and during the 'crisis' time they got a lot of visibility.

Government should be like your stomach. If it's working well, you shouldn't know it's there. But that doesn't give politicians much media time, does it? It why we have so many 'made up' little problems with emotional content - it gives the pols something to fix so they can show the masses they are doing something. I bet 90% of congress' work is just 'busy work' staged for the masses, and the best politicians that actually mean well don't get noticed much at all since they are doing a good job.

Want to fix health care?

Get the government completely out of it, go to a health savings plan with catostrophic coverage and let the patients write the checks. Lastly, get the state to state limitations out. Some states mandate things like aroma theropy :S

Get rid of all state to state limitations, mandates and licencing and compitition will drive the prices down.

As for Hilary Rodam............a line from Monty Pythons "In Search of the Holly Grail" comes to mind..................................RUN AWAY,,,RUNAWAY :D:P

if we falter and lose our freedoms,
it will be because we destroyed ourselves."

Depends who else is running. Powell? Obama? McCain? No way would I vote for her. If voting for her meant a vote against Ted Kennedy, or Rick Santorum, or Bill Frist? I'd vote for her in a second. Lesser of two evils and all.

WHAT????
Bill, I thought Ted Kennedy was your guy!!! B|

Seriouly.. look at her record as a senator in NY.
What has she done?

Persoanlly, she scares me.

Plenty of other threads for that. (even if I agree)

Would you vote for Hilary in 2008? Do you think she would make a good President? Share your thoughts.

For the love of all that is unholy I hope Hillary does NOT even get the chance.

Two points;

1) I don't think she's electable. She may, in fact, get the nomination, but there is no way in hell she can actually win the election.

2) I don't think this country wants to go down the road of just swapping the leadership of this country back and forth between two families. Just because you're related to somebody does NOT make you worthy of office. I said that of GWB and I believe it holds true for Hillary as well.

If Hillary ever gets elected to the oval office......I WILL do what Alec,Whoopi and others have been threatening to do.........I will leave the country;)

I won't blame you one bit if that happens. As for me, I'm going to stick around and either try to fix the problem or be the biggest thorn in their side that I can possibly be.

Those degenerate pieces of Hollywood scum that inhabit their ivory towers and try to prescribe what is best for the rest of the world are so full of shit that I don't know how they can live with themselves. I wish they would leave the country. It would raise the percentage of honest decent people who live in this country and care about what happens to it.

If you move, on the other hand, it would be a loss.

Let's hope it never comes to that.

Edited to add:
The Hollywood elite who think they know what is best for the rest of us are fake people who live fake lives. IMO, they have spent so much time and effort creating make-believe that they have lost touch with reality themselves.

To Tom Cruise: Fuck you! You know as much about psychiatry as you know about flying fighters as in Top Gun. You were a fake fighter pilot and you're a fake person.

To Rosie O'Donnell: Fuck you! You live in a mansion surrounded by armed guards and you want to deprive real Americans of the right to defend themselves, their families, and their home by owning firearms. You too are a fake.

To Alec Baldwin: Fuck you! You said you would move out of our beloved country if Bush won. In case you haven't heard, he did win. Be a man for once in your fake life and move. Most Americans will not miss you. As a man, you're a fake.

I could go on, but my blood pressure is getting up. I need to chill.

If anyone wants to add their favorite celebrities to the list, knock yourselves out. I'd like to see it.

Only 'pieces of Hollywood scum' I can think of who actually tried to change how people live their lives are Arnold and Ron Reagan. The rest of them are no more or less evil than some of the characters here on Speaker's Corner - it's just that more people listen to them.

Would I vote for someone who voted no on $350 billion in tax breaks (breaks go to Medicaid, and state discretion..not big compaines) and no again on cutting $1.35 trillion in taxes? Now of course some of you are going to say I'm an idiot for not seeing it as Hillary does, but you just go ahead and pay socialist levels of taxes while others fight to not fork over 1/2 or more of their sallary to the govt. And, she's about as good of friend to the military as cancer is to my friend.
