Hot to be a good Democrat!!

Recommended Posts

Virtually anyone can be a Democrat. Just simply quit thinking (about it) and vote that way. If you want to be a GOOD Democrat, however, there are some prerequisites you must have first. Compare them below and see how you rate...

1. You have to believe the AIDS virus is spread by a lack of Federal funding.

2. You have to believe that the same school system that can't teach 4th graders how to read is somehow the best qualified to teach those same kids all about sex.

3. You have to believe that guns, in the hands of law-abiding Americans are more of a threat than U.S. nuclear weapons technology, in the hands of Chinese communists.

4. You have to believe that there was no art before Federal funding.

5. You have to believe that global temperatures are less affected by cyclical, documented changes in the earth's climate, and more affected by Americans driving SUVs'!

6. You have to believe that gender roles are artificial but being homosexual is natural.

7. You have to be against capital punishment but support abortion on demand.

8. You have to believe that businesses create oppression and governments create osperity.

9. You have to believe that hunters don't care about nature, but loony activists from Seattle do.

10. You have to believe that self-esteem is more important than
actually doing something to earn it.

11. You have to believe the U.S. military, not evil, tyrannical regimes, start wars.

12. You have to believe the NRA is bad, because it supports certain parts of the Constitution, while the ACLU is good, because it supports certain parts of the constitution.

13. You have to believe that taxes are too low, butATM fees are too high.

14. You have to believe that Margaret Sanger and Gloria Steinem are more important to American history than Thomas Jefferson or Thomas Edison.

15. You have to believe that standardized tests are racist, but racial quotas and set-asides are not.

16. You have to believe Hillary Clinton is all about "progress" and not power. She just wants to help us out of the archaic system of governing that we've been subjected to since our founding.

17. You have to believe that the only reason socialism hasn't worked anywhere it's been tried, is because the right people haven't been in charge.

18. You have to believe Republicans telling the truth belong in jail, but a cheat, liar and sex offender belongs in the White House and you would
vote him back in there in a New York minute (if you could).

19. You have to believe that homosexual parades displaying drag, transvestites and beastiality should be constitutionally protected and manger scenes at Christmas should be illegal.

20. You have to believe that illegal Democrat Party funding by the Chinese is somehow in the best interest of the United States.

21. You have to believe that the vociferous minorities who protest against prayer and saluting the flag in school have far more rights than the majority who believe in God and country and want these values to be
instilled in our young children.

If you are locked in solidly to most of these beliefs - you're gonna be a big asset to John Kerry.

Hadn't seen that in a few weeks. Good stuff.

yes its definately good stuff. It kind of makes you wonder how anybody with above are room temperature I.Q. and look at the facts laid out if front of them like that and still defend the Democrat party. Wouldn't it be great if we could get passed the obvious like this and concentrate on some serious issues. But unfortunately as long as there are a bunch of liberals in power we will need to argue about things that would otherwise be as simple as a little common sense.

You're right, the people in power aren't using commone sense. But last time I checked, republicans controlled the house of representatives and the white house.

Just because you don't have the majority does not mean you're powerless. Are you not familiar with filabusters? Well ever since the Democrats lost majority control, that has been there tactic of choice (not to mention slander and out right lies by liberal media outlets), which they have to be addressed to keep the general public from believing the stupid lies. Here is a perfect example: Bush does not want to waste his time going to meet with the NAACP because they are obviously a partisan Democrat organization. Meanwhile the liberal media outlets try to suggest that there are other motives there like he is somehow a divider on race or something silly like that. Now he has to go and address something stupid like that and waste time doing so.

True...but this is one of those bi-partisan tactics common to politics. Claiming one side does it more than the other is silly, and actually a self fulfilling statement about arguing about things that should be understood as common sense. Politicians play politics.

This is just more political-semantic bullshit.

I especially like this one:

4. You have to believe that there was no art before Federal funding.

Oooh, the evil democrats want our children to have art and music class, so they'll be well-rounded and possibly enjoy education. Bastards. :S

And most Dems (clearly) don't believe all of this, at least not in the negative way it's represented (semantics). Guess that's why it's called "How to be a GOOD Democrat". Anyone care to compose a list of equally bullshit "Ways to be a Good Republican"? Guess I'l have to check out that thread.

Dear Kelly,

You might consider actually trying to READ the subject lines that show what a thread is about, just a suggestion.

About the art thing -

I believe that what was being presented for discussion is that the liberals think that the goverment should subsidise artist AFTER school - in the very least - they want to waste money funding WAY TOO MANY art shows. If the shit is that good, read: good enough to be paid for - why don't the general public buy it and or pay to go see it - hell - people pay to go see hotdog eating contests, hotdog eating contests aren't subsidised by the government - Are you implying that a hotdog eating contest is better than alot of the artists that need to be subsidised? Well, then if that is the case - I tend to agree with you.

I can easily create a long list of prominent, historically important artists, who were not well known, didn't sell any art for good money when they were alive, but continued creating due to susidies.

If you don't think art is worthwhile, I can understand your position. But saying that good art, or what has come to be judged important art, is commercially equitable for the artist is disproven by history.

I did read the other thread. And although I'm a Democrat , I thought the other one was garbage as well. And I also noticed that it was presented as such. This one, however, wasn't.

People hate politicians because of this shit, but (apparently) deep down, we're all nothing but a bunch of fucking politicians. We all buy into and say this shit much more often than is necessary. There are two sides to every coin: politics refuses to accept that the other side even has a remote truth to it. THAT is the problem with politicians, and we are no better than they are.

I doubt that 90% of this crowd will boo, so you don't have to feel like the oppressed class in these forums for that reason. Rather most will nod and look smug if you say that.

Here you go Kelly.

...Republican:
You have to believe that the AIDS virus is spread because people are evil and should be punished.

You have to believe that the evolution is a myth (despite the evidence of biochemistry and the fossil record) but that Intelligent Design theory should be taught in schools.

You have to believe that there is no causal link between legal, easily-obtainable handguns and high murder rates.

You have to believe that unfunded arts and school programs are still subject to government control.

You have to believe that global temperatures are completely unaffected by fossil fuel emissions, that the best way to save the national forests is to allow logging companies to cut down old-growth timber, and the best way to save endangered species is to allow trophy hunters and wildlife traders to import more of them.

You have to believe that homosexuality is evil (despite the fact that it occurs in nature) and that women should stay at home to cook and bear children.

You have to be against abortion but support capital punishment.

You have to believe that corporations never purposely hurt anyone to make money.

You have to believe that hunting requires an automatic rifle.

You have to believe that middle class income should be taxed, but inherited wealth should not be.

You have to believe that war is an acceptable solution to any economic or social problem.

You have to believe that everyone should support the troops - except when it comes to pay or benefits.

You have to believe the NRA is good because it supports certain parts of the Constitution, while the ACLU is bad because it supports certain parts of the Constitution.

You have to believe that taxes are for poor and middle class people, not the rich.

You have to believe that Oliver North and Monica Lewinsky are more important to American history than Martin Luther King and Robert Kennedy.

You have to believe that affirmative action is wrong, because everyone knows there's no more racism in America.

You have to believe that Ann Coulter is normal and really a very nice person.

You have to believe that the only reason supply-side economics hasn't worked anywhere it's been tried is because the right people haven't been in charge.

You have to believe liberals telling the truth belong in jail, but a liar and draft-dodger belongs in the White House.

You have to believe that all Americans should be white heterosexual Christians.

You have to believe that illegal Republican Party funding by corporations is somehow in the best interest of the United States.

You have to believe that the media are biased toward liberals, despite the fact that all the major media outlets are owned by ultra-rich conservatives.

And here's how to be a good Republican.

25 Rules for being a Good Republican

1) Being a drug addict is a moral failing and a crime, unless you are millionaire conservative radio jock, which makes it an illness and needs our prayers for your recovery.

2) You have to believe that those privileged from birth achieve success all on their own.

3) You have to believe that the US should get out of the UN, and that our highest national priority is enforcing UN resolutions against Iraq.

4) You have to believe that government should stay out of people's lives but it needs to punish anyone caught having private sex with the wrong gender.

5) You have to believe that pollution is ok, so long as it makes a profit.

6) You have to believe in prayer in schools, as long as you don't pray to Allah or Buddha.

7) "Standing Tall for America" means firing your workers and moving their jobs to India.

8) You have to believe that a woman cannot be trusted with decisions about her own body, but that large multi-national corporations can make decisions
affecting all mankind with no regulation whatsoever.

9) You have to believe that you love Jesus and Jesus loves you, and that Jesus shares your hatred of AIDS victims, homosexuals, and Hillary Clinton.

10) You hate the ALCU for representing convicted felons, but they owed it to the country to bail out Oliver North.

11) You have to believe that the best way to encourage military morale is to praise the troops overseas while cutting their VA benefits.

12) You believe that group sex and drug use are degenerate sins that can only be purged by running for governor of California as a Republican.

13) You have to believe it is wise to keep condoms out of schools, because we all know if teenagers don't have condoms they won't have sex.

14) You have to believe that the best way to fight terrorism is to alienate our allies and then demand their cooperation and money.

15) You have to believe that government medicine is wrong and that HMO's and insurance companies only have your best interests at heart.

16) You have to believe that providing health care to all Iraqis is sound government policy but providing health care to all Americans is socialism
personified.

17) You believe that tobacco's link to cancer and global warming are "junk science", but Creationism should be taught in schools.

18) You have to believe that waging war with no exit strategy was wrong in Vietnam but right in Iraq.

19) You have to believe that Saddam was a good guy when Reagan armed him, a bad guy when Bush's daddy made war on him, a good guy when
Cheney was doing business with him, and a bad guy when Bush needed a we-can't-find-Bin-Laden diversion.

20) You believe that government should restrict itself to just the powers named in the Constitution, which includes banning gay marriages and
censoring the internet.

21) You have to believe that the public has a right to know about the adulterous affairs of Democrats, while those of Republicans are a private matter.

22) You have to believe that the public has a right to know about Hillary's cattle trades but that Bush was right to censor those 28 pages from the Congressional 9/11 report because you just can't handle the truth.

23) You support state rights, which means Ashcroft telling states what locally passed voter initiatives he will allow them to have.

24) You have to believe that what Clinton did in the 1960's is of vital national interest but what Bush did decades later is stale news and irrelevant.

25) You have to believe that trade with Cuba is wrong because it is communist, but trading with China and Vietnam is just dandy.

Actually some of these and yours storm are pretty damn funny.
