jessd 0 #1 December 23, 2002 Is everyone done with their shopping? I am, usually I'm not done this early. I even wrapped all the presents - I finally get to relax on Christmas Eve. skymama 35 #2 December 23, 2002 I finished up with the last of my chores about an hour ago. That means no more shopping, wrapping, shipping, baking, card writing or house cleaning left to do. Woohoo! I can rest for a day until I have to help my mom prepare everything for the 25 people coming to her house on Tuesday! She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
jessd 0 #3 December 23, 2002 25 People is a lot! My family is so small and we keep it real low key around the holidays. It keeps us all relatively stress free - lets us really enjoy the holidays. Michele 1 #6 December 23, 2002 I wrestled my budget....I mean, strangled it outright, and managed to get a few little things for my nephew and niece - she got a Winnie The Pooh small book set (3) and a Classic Pooh Bear, and he got Where the Wild Things Are, and a Wild Thing stuffed animal, and a Wild Thing puzzle. I do feel better bringing those guys something - they wouldn't know the difference, but I would. And they bring me such joy and love and great happiness that I can't help but get them a little something. Christmas will be at my father's house, so no cooking, cleaning, whatever for me. And a client sent me a Marie Calendar Pie gift certificate, and I will be bringing the Pecan Pie. It will be great to be with family... Michele 1 #8 December 23, 2002 Quoteshe wants another 475 bucks for a security deposit. Why? What happened that she has decided to increase the security deposit? And I am not at all sure she can legally do that in the state of CA. Hey, pm me with the details and I'll look into it tomorrow morning at the office, and let you know what I find out. That seems wrong...but I don't have the whole story. Pm me, 'kay? hooked 0 #9 December 23, 2002 Oh, I'm done with my shopping, now just keep me out of the stores so I don't find anything else! I can't wait for Christmas day to see the "awe" and "wonder" in my grandsons eyes! Actually, he will probably be overwhelmedI'm preparing dinner on Christmas Day, but it doesn't seem possible it is almost Christmas. I hope it 'dawns' on me and I get my rear in gear and get everything done! Everything is wrapped and some foods precooked and I hope I didn't forget anything! SpeedRacer 1 #21 December 23, 2002 Well, I'm about all set. Christmas is a time of worship, visiting friends & relatives, feasting, drinking, songs & having fun. However, everyone in my family hates shopping, so we (most of us anyway) have decided to skip the christmas shopping thing. Well, we still give gifts to the kids in the family, but for the adults, screw it. There's too much commercialism, & Christmas isn't about shopping for gifts anyway. (Most of us don't send cards either, because its a pain in the ass). Some of us are taking the money we would have spent on shopping & making donations to charities. It's much more in the spirit of Christmas to give to people who actually need it, rather than giving useless crap to people who don't. Some people say "Deck the Halls"! I say "Fuck the Malls!"Here's a thought if you wanna skip the materialism & donate to charity instead, but you don't have much $$. volunteer. Or go to the Red Cross & give blood. What could be a better gift than that? Speed Racer --------------------------------------------------
