BUSH...A good president???

"If I'm going to blast him for marching into Iraq (which I think I've sort of mildly suggested at one point or another), then I have to praise him for giving some aid when it's needed for humanitarian purposes."

How about some "humanitarian purposes" for the American people? The money wasted in Iraq could do miracles for the laughable HMO health coverage plans in this country.

Actually not. they have killed "only" 934 persons

Anyway, a terrorism act is not about how many people died. If only one person dies and it happens to be you or someone from your family, you will not care about the rest. Besides, a terrorist attack is scary enough as it is regardless of the size. Again, you have endure one. Palestinian and Israelis get one every week at best. At worst everyday.

And I don't belittle even one death...as you seem to be doing with us and 9/11. The simple fact is 9/11 we lost 3 times what you did in ONE attack. Find me one terror attack with a higher body count?

You can't. Thats why its such a big deal. 9/11 showed that they were very well financed, had very good intel and pulled off an almost perfect operation....The likes of which have never been seen before.

9/11 was not some guy with a home made bomb. It was a military operation on a large scale...A scale that has never been seen before from a terroist.

THAT is why it is a big deal.

Quote

Really, to someone who lives in a bubble and don´t know what is going on outside their country, 9/11 will look like it is the end of the world as it is known, but for most other people it looks for what it is: a horrible terrorist attack. No more, no less.

I don't live in a bubble....But you seem to missing the FACT that it was the largest terroist attack ever...And it forcasts a very bad outlook on the future. Its not home made bombs anymore. Its big time operations.

Show me one attack that was the size of this...in planning or in body count.

So its not just a terror attack (I can't believe you can even say that)....Its the wake up call that these terroists are able to plan big operations with military effectiveness.

No need to take advantage of all the support the world gives you to protect your interests by starting wars.

Last time I checked...The UN voted on it...but then had no spine to back it up. So the UN and the Nations in the UN said he would face action....Its just the US had the balls to back up the words.

Words without actions are worthless.

The US health care is better than 90% of the rest of the world.

I have and I like what I have. Bush is doing a good job.

These "issues" you are bithching about have been around a lot longer than just Bush. And we have a system of government that does not lend well to socialist programs.

Its not iin the nature of the founding of this country.

I'll agree with that.

Unfortunately though, Carter was a horrible president. However, he is a very good man and has done so much good since he was out of office.

Chris

I guess there's hope for Bush then, he may also turn out to be a wonderful man when he gets out of office;)

While I'm not a fan of HMOs and my health coverage has been drastically cut back, I can spare a dollar or two out of my tax money (and my guess is it amounts to less than that) to a tent, some clean drinking water and a biscuit or two to a city that has lost perhaps as many as 1 out of every 2 people.

Get a grip. These people have lost -everything-.

My guess is you're probably sleeping in a warm bed tonight with a full belly next to your family.

Most of the people of Bam are not.

I apologize if i offended anyone, and believe me when i say that 9/11 deserve a big deal of attention, as big as any other terrorist attack. Just think that when it happened, you had almost every country totally with you. How many of those countries still support the U.S? (not including those threatened or bribed).
The more people you manage to hate the US, the more terrorist attacks the US will have. it is that simple.

I've said as much several times.

We wasted huge amounts of support and turned allies in enemies.

Not smart. Not good for the country. Not good for the world.

. . .Please, stop whining. I am so fed up with the 9/11!!!! . . .

I read this this morning and, frankly, if your intention was to piss me off, pat yourself on the back. You did. But then all day I thought about what you said and I have come to this conclusion . . . it is better to be silent and have the world think you are a fool than to open your mouth and remove any doubt. Think about this before you say something as insensitive and repugnant as you did.

But you are entitled, as quade reminded me, to voice your own opinion.

But maybe before you say something like this again you might consider that the loss of life in any form should never be disrepected as you have done with you post.

quade - in asnwer to your question. You are right about what you said, and your rebuke is warranted. I let my emotions run away with me. Thanks for the reminder.

Is it better to send the money overseas to rebuild a country most of us would never set a foot anyway?
Screw Iraq. Is it so hard to see that this stupid war is a financial gain for only a select few, after the rest of us took care of the financing? That part I do not like! And that your President is lying to all of us, do you like that too?

world laughing at us while our last was having his unit being sucked and asking what "is" is. We were the laughing stock of the the world!!!!!!!!! Now Mr. Dean is another fucking laughing matter all together!!!!

Ok, I had just about decided not to post to this again, but I've got to respond to this. You see, I happened to have been overseas (in the middle east for that matter), during the whole Lewinski affair and you're right, they were laughing at us. But not because Clinton was getting his dick sucked, or asking what the definition of "is" is... but because the Republicans in the legislature and apparently the American public actually gave a fuck what the president was doing, or who, as the case may have been. I mean hell, those people know what it's like to live with terrorism, they face it every day. You and I my friend, unless you just happen to live smack dab in NYC, have not a clue what living with terrorism is, and none of us do. So, we can spend time worrying about who's getting their dick sucked. Personally, I'd rather have a president who's getting it whenever he wants it. I think the stress release would be beneficial to our nation. Hmm, 8 yrs of unprecedented peace and economic prosperity....

I think what you mean here is 8 years of pretending everything was right in the world. Ignoring the growing problem with terrorism, ignoring problems of the US economy by claiming everything was great when under the seedy underbelly of American Corporations like Enron lurked criminal activity of investors bilked of their life savings. Then there was Waco, The 1st WTC bombing etc, etc, etc. Yep that sure was a wonderful time of peace and prosperity.
BTW I'm curious if anyone other than me has purchased any Haliburton Stock. :)

But isn't it obvious that we are expecting way too much from this troll?:P

Nope, but he's the type to vote for Homer Simpson. Mr. Burns will be Homer's running mate, while Apu will possibly be his Secretary of State. Krusty could be his NSA.

You drive on public roads???? Or do you just walk everywhere?

When was the last time you had to defend your house with a weapon from invaders?

Sounds to me like you are getting a part of your tax money back.

I think we have a duty to help others much less fortunate than us. There are plenty of folks living off of the public tit here in the US...Its a way of life for some.

Yes, I would rather my money go to rebuild a country and in that manner possibly end a terrorist supporting goverment, than give it to some lazy person here who refuses to get a job so they can buy a pair of Nikes I would not buy for myself.

Screw Iraq

Thats a healthy policy.....

Uh this stupid war won the freedom of all of Iraq....Ended the reign of a ruthless evil man that supported terror against the world. Hey, and it may drop gas proces also...I drive I like cheap gas. ;)

And that your President is lying to all of us, do you like that too?

Ya mean like:

"I didn't inhale" A guy that can't even smoke pot right gets elected?

"I did not have sex with a white house intern"

I could go on....

Fact is Iraq was told to get rid of WMD's...The UN agreed and said they would face action if they didn't comply...they didn't comply and the UN has no spine. So the US went in. Hell I thought it ver possible that he had WMD's....And since he was supposed to get rid of them...And he was not being nice and showing/proving to us he had...I think we had the right. It was a UN resolution, so a good part of the world agreed with it....But the UN has no spine, and looked like a paper tiger.

Dead Americans to get cheaper gas, wow.... that's the spirit!

How about the not so fortunate families, that do work hard, many holding more than one job, but there is still no money for surgery for their sick kid.

I'm done with this thread! Just pisses me off that so many people can't see the future problems we'll have from this "bible class of an adminsitration".

Never said that was the reason, just a by product...And if you think thats all you are very short sighted.
