I also think Skyler is cool. I guess it's the skydiver in me but I would name my kid Skyler.

I thought about Skyler, but I already know THREE children of skydivers with that name.

I was going to name Jett: Jett Blue, but then that damn airline came out the same year. Thank goodness she wasn't born a year earlier.

So she is Jett Eliza.

Heidi Moana Rudy
.. which is a little too simiar to my "porn name".. Heidi Floyd. :$

One of the responses was "Maitland" though.. thats quite nice.

I also wanted names not too common but not freaky either.
First, if I knew anyone with the name, its a NO. Then I went online and printed the top 100 names of the previous year. If it was in the top 25, its a NO. Then I found out I was having twins so rhyming names were a big NO!

I picked Cody & Ian. Both Boys but I've heard Cody as a girls name too.

I've got girl's names picked out already.. if I ever get around to having kids..

Victoria.. a very classy name, Tori for short.
Charlotte.. after my grandmother.. Charlie for short.
Carolyn.. after my great-grandmother and my fav Aunt, who is named after her as Carol Lynn.
Elizabeth.. after a dear cousin, Betsy for short. Most likely a middle name though.

I'm not likely to have four girls, but thats my short list. I have no idea on names if I have boy(s). Family names are slim pickings.. Wallace, Clifford, Bonnas Ulysses, Merritt (Merritt isnt too bad).

Picking baby names is fun... but all I have to say is better you than me!!

That quiz on babynames.com is the worst. I chose my personality to be ambitous and it named me Hadassah Dian! I then chose stylish and it names me Toril Oprah! Cmon now, there have got to be some better names that that this name generator could give me!

I am also against picking your childs nickname for them in advance. Picking "Zackary" so you can call them "Zack".

We picked my daughter's name, Alexandra, because we liked the nickname, Alix. I always liked being able to have 2 choices, Andi when I was young and Andrea now that I'm SO mature and girly. :P We thought it would be cool to give her the same choice.

My son's name is Nicholas. Up until the day he was born, we were lead to believe from the ultrasound that he was going to be a girl, and we were going to name him Danielle, nicknamed Dani. When he surprised us by being a boy (on his due date of April Fool's no less, nice joke!), we said, "what were those boys names we liked again? Um....Nicholas, yeah, let's go with that one." A few months later, as I was introducing the kids to a friend, she said, "oh, your little Russian czars, how cute!" Yikes, we never even thought of that! I've run across so many people who have named their kids the same names intentionally for that reason, and it was a total "d'oh" by us!

I've always been called Chris instead of Christopher. When I hear Christopher, I think I am in trouble with a nun.:P

See that is where middle names come in.

If My mom yelled Sean I knew she just wanted something.

If she yelled Sean Derek, I knew I forgot to do soemthing.

If She yelled Sean Derek Gregory, I snuck out the window and did not come home for four hours.:S

As far as Parents naming them Zachary to call them Zach I think it is right the parent picks the nickname.

I actually get pissy when people nickname my kids.

I named them Tabitha, Sean, and Patrick not Taby Seany and Pat. GRRRRRR.

and their nich names are Toot, Seany Sean, and Paderack. Anyone calls them anything else I sock em in the nose:P.
