ccowden 0 #1 May 13, 2004 I have been a diehard Flyers fan for about 15 years, and I truly believe that this is the year! Anyone got a problem with that?!
SkymonkeyONE 3 #2 May 13, 2004 Unless you watched the Flyers from the upper tier of The Spectrum back when Bobby Clarke and the boys didn't need no stinking helmets, then you have not been a fan as long as I have. It was fucking nuts back then.
CanuckInUSA 0 #3 May 13, 2004 How about when the Broad Street Bullies beat up on the Red Army team back in (what year was it again) 1976? The toothless Bobby Clarke, Andre "The Moose" Dupont, Dave Shultz, Bernie Parent, etc, etc, etc. That was one bruiser of a team. This year's addition of the Flyers is a little hard to figure out. One night they look unbeatable, the next night they look mortal. Which team will show up tonight? Watch out for the Flames though ... here you have a young hungry team who's proving all the experts wrong (so far at least). Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
ccowden 0 #4 May 13, 2004 Well, I wouldn't say they are unbeatable, and they are definitely mortal, but I think they looked great against two really tough playoff hockey clubs in the Devils and the Leafs. And in this series agianst Tampa Bay, even in the loss, they look like an all-around better team. Tampa can make you pay for mistakes in a hurry, and that is what happened in game one. But if the Flyers play like they did in game two, I don't think Tampa can beat them in a seven game series. Yes, either Calgary or San Jose would be a tough opponent, but atleast they aren't the unbeatable West teams of past years.

sunnydee123 0 #7 May 13, 2004 Well since my Devils got booted WEEKS ago when I just STARTED to bust your chops - I'm pulling for your flyers (i like the colors of there uniforms...how girly does that sound) Dreams become reality, one choice at a time... ccowden 0 #8 May 13, 2004 Yeah, it's pretty girlie, but you're allowed. I think they are wearing their orange 3rd jerseys tonight.
PhillyKev 0 #9 May 13, 2004 I've already got a line on finals tickets if they make it. must attend at least one cup game.
tunaplanet 0 #10 May 13, 2004 I hate to break it to you, but I have this scary intuition when it comes to sports and predicting games. There is no way the Flyers are getting past the Bolts. Don't believe me? Save this thread and we'll pull it up after the series. Forty-two
Slappie 9 #11 May 13, 2004 Sharks better dig it out or the Flames are going to come burning into the Cup Finals and burn everyone. Even the bookies. That team is young and flaming hot at the moment. Go FLAMES!! Only reason I am even picking a team (in Houston no NHL) is I know some good peeps up in Calgary. Plus it's Houston's sister city in Alberta. ccowden 0 #14 May 21, 2004 Well, it all comes down to one game! I don't know if I can take much more. My neighbors must really wonder what is going on at my house with all the screaming. Man, oh man, that was an amazing game last night!
CanuckInUSA 0 #15 May 21, 2004 Gotta like the 7th game in the Stanley Cup Playoffs!!! Of course it's easier to watch when you're team isn't playing. But fun nonetheless. Good luck to both teams ... lawrocket 3 #16 May 21, 2004 A pretty good game last night. WHo am I kidding, it was a great game! Back and forth with high intensity. Seems like Philly was generating most of the opportunities later on, which led to their victory. Should be a pretty awesome game 7, though I still pick T-Bay. My wife is hotter than your wife.
